London stay: Sept. 2013: The owners of the hotel, Chris and Maria, made us feel very welcome. They run a very efficient, clean, and friendly hotel. We highly recommend their hotel if you are looking for a quaint, quiet, cozy, and welcoming place to stay, that resembles a bed and breakfast, rather than a larger, bustling, noisy hotel. Larger hotels do not provide a personal connection with their guests. The Rhodes Hotel has all of the necessary amenities, and a good breakfast every morning. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have private bath. The location of the hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, and is within close walking distance (only a few blocks) from Paddington Station for the tube, train, and bus. There are many small restaurants and convenience stores within a block of the hotel, as well. Thank you, Chris and Maria for your hospitality. --Richard, Debbie, and Darlene

Good: Value for money. Quiet, clean and comfortable. Very convenient location. Bad: Small room A great hotel. So refreshing to get value for money! Room was small (just about squeeze down the side of the bed) but was quiet, clean, and dark with curtains closed (worth thinking about if you're not used to sleeping in the glare of a City). Air-conditioning. Fantastic, albeit very cozy) shower and loo. Tea and coffee, tv, good breakfast. An amazing bargain! Stay here if you are looking for a great base in a convenienet location for exploring London and use your room to sleep. Don't stay here if you spend your entire stay in your room - you'll get claustrophobic! :)

I chose the hotel following a good review for breakfast, and because of the location, and I 'was not disappointed. The service was excellent - the desk clerk who received us and took the luggage up to our room, delicious and rich breakfast ,the room was clean and equipped with all we needed. Another important thing to mention is the concern of CRISS (Hotel Manager) to us: here are some example: we got hot omeletsby order on breakfast, Criss care that the plat whould not be to hott, Criss care that we will get transportation from the airport on the first day, and sending by post an items left in the room after we left the hotel. CRISS cared about the guests and this is a very good reason to recommend to friends and people I care to get aroom on Rhodes in London

excellent location, very clean, efficient, breakfast OK, good value, plenty of places to eat, near to Hyde park, worth getting up early to go there and watch sunrise over the Serpentine. Nice Old house, no lift. I would stay again. If you like walking you can stroll across Hyde Park to the Museums (V and A, Natural History, Science)

Perfectly clean, comfortably warm (was end of November), flawless toilet flushing, plenty of hot water shower during the night (less water during rush hours), friendly staff and very poor security. A lot of questions might pop up during your stay, but if you ask the staff they will respond very promptly and thoroughly, and most of your problems will be solved. One of the responses I was taken aback by, however, was that they told me there were no locks on the window. During the day, there is always someone at the reception keeping a good and friendly eye on people that come and go, but when I left my luggage to a clerk in the early hours of the morning to take a walk before my flight, I soon found my luggage unaccompanied and no matter how much I called no one came out. So I just left a note and picked it up. But I felt very safe as a woman walking around the hotel at night. Also Lancaster Hotel is literally right around the corner, so you can go enjoy the bar or their business center computer if Rhodes' is not enough. Yet, you can always come back to Rhodes which is a lot less crowded. I would recommend this hotel, not to people carrying lots of cash, but to single tourists looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay.

We had a triple comfort room, with a beautiful bath, but the room was in basement level and small. Because the room was on the way of breakfast room, there were noises from early morning. The owners and the staff were magnificant. Very polite and friendly. Very basic breakfast but enough for starting the day. Near to Paddington metro station and bus stop. The hotel generally is clean and enough for short trips.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The single room was very small but clean. The continental breakfast was adequate but I would have prepared an English breakfast but this costs £6 more. Overall, the hotel is VFM but I think if it was modernised it would very much improve. The hotel has free wifi which is good.

Super! Nice place, nice people, homemade breakfast, good service. Highly recommendable. For five people like us the room we got was not very big, but as a sleeping room it was fine.

The room was small but spotlessly clean and ideal as a base for a short break. Lancaster Gate tube station is just around the corner with Hyde Park, Oxford St & a good range of restaurants all only a short walk away. Staying at the Rhodes with my daughter was ideal as the area felt relatively safe when walking out to a restaurant or returning late in the evening. The owner & staff are cheerful & helpful and we will certainly use the hotel again on our next stay in London. NB we stayed in the annex around the corner & the steep stairs may be a problem for anyone with mobility issues.

As a one night stopover for one person it was faultless. However the room was a little snug, but very well fitted and kitted out. Could hear the fan from next door's bathroom. There was some road noise but you expect that in central London. The staff were very welcoming. Continental breakfast and plenty of it!

1 1/2 blocks from Paddington train Station and Heathrow Express, safe neighborhood between Paddington and Lancaster Gate tube stations. Excellent pubs and food in the neighborhood. My second stay at the Rhodes Hotel and I'll stay there again. Don't be fooled by an uninspired reception area, the Rhodes has spotless small rooms with flat screen TV and fridge. Love the shower. Lack of elevator could be a problem for some but bags are carried up and down by staff. The owner, Chris, and Regina, his helper, are most accommodating and eager to make you feel at home.

Telephoned ahead to arrange late check in after the theatre - no problem at all. The staff were expecting me, the welcome was warm. My room in the annexe was fabulous, facilities modern and fresh. The hallways were a bit dingy and the room not massive but more than enough for my requirements. Fabulous clean modern inexpensive hotel in a really accessible location. Would recommend and will definitely stay again, my room was boutique style it really was impressive and such value for money in central London

Hotel is in a good location (close to tube and other major places by bus), the money is a bit over to pay for such a small room, but again this is my first time in London so not sure with what to compare. It is clean, and staff friendly

First visit to this hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms and beds, all very clean. Good choice at breakfast. Only criticism is that some rooms are in a separate annexe a short walk from the main hotel, and the stairs in the annexe are quite narrow to the upper floors, though the staff will take cases up. I would use this hotel again, and recommend it.
