Glenlyn Guest House - Barnet, London
6 Woodside Park Road Finchley - London
877-662-6988Finchley itself is full of cute bars, restaurants and shops, and is home to an O² shopping complex where you will find a host of shops, cafés and a Vue Cinema. Friary and Victoria Park are within walking distance, great for photo opportunities on a nice sunny day. The guest house also has a rooftop terrace where the smokers usually congregate as this is a non-smoking accommodation.
The Glenlyn Guest House staff work hard to ensure you have everything you need during your stay, from clean sheets to a full English breakfast in the dining room. There is also a bar open during the evening so you can sip a few drinks in before heading out into Finchley. With central London so close thanks to the underground, this Finchley guest house is an excellent choice for those looking for a quiet place to stay. The wireless Internet access is available in all pubic areas.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really loved the apartment we stayed in.

Great location, close to multiple shops and quick on the go food options. The room was small, smaller than what I thought from the pictures. The staff was amazingly friendly and outgoing! Great stay though, would stay again and recommend.

Glenlyn Guest House is an excellent little hotel which offers great value for your money. The only thing I wasn't so happy with was the fact that you have to go more than a half hour on the underground to reach the city. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff more than made up for that though. Let me give Glenlyn Guest House the biggest compliment possible: I will gladly return.

Overall great stay, very clean room and quite spacious for a triple, very accomodating staff, 35 mins to central london. We even booked 5 nights triple and changed on the eve of the forth night to double as one of us had to leave suddenly and the staff were so nice as to charge us only a double room, even though it was past the 24 hour notice time AND we stayed in the same triple room where the rate for the double should have been higher. The only negative comment I have is that all the pictures everywhere on the internet show the newly renovated apartments (the room is quite similar, so no issue here), but the bathroom was quite old, nothing like in the picture. All in all, not a big deal though, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone. It is a very welcoming charming little place to stay in.

Public areas and the breakfast was perfect. Staff always friendly and smiling. However the rooms need a bit of a work, especially the bathrooms.

A very nice hotel. The surroundings are quiet and there are some good pubs and bars near the hotel. The restaurant where breakfast is served is very nice and the food quite good. The rooms are not very spacious. The tube station is 5 minutes a walk and it takes almost 40-45 minutes to Piccadilly square or Leicester Square. I would come back again in this hotel.

This hotel more than lived up to its reputation. The room was spotlessly clean, bright and comfortable. Breakfast was the highlight with locally sourced food and cooked to perfection. The only niggle was the free WiFi which required re-registering with name and address on each use and repeated necessity of agreeing to terms of use.

Very nice hotel. One sour note: Customer info invites notification of special diets. I am vegan, so asked reception for soya milk at breakfast. This was refused rather curtly. When I pointed out relevant part of customer info, was told policy no longer applied. As it turned out, at breakfast there was plenty of stuff suitable for vegans (but no soya milk).

I was impressed with this place. This was a little further from the main attractions but the railing system in london make it ea sy to get around. The train station is withinwalking distance. The breakfast was great and the room was clean and elegant looking. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. I will definetly stay here again when we return. The price was definetly reasonable.

This is a super b&b. The dining staff are quite good and helpful. Breakfast is great, with so many different choices. The reception staff, can be improved though, as they may sometimes appear to not be too warm nor welcoming. The beds we had in our twin room, were very very comfortable. The duvets were soft but the covers were quite noisy (it was the crisp type of cover that made noise everytime you move). It's not too close to the centre / tourist spots, so you have to be ready to commute at least 30 minutes one way but its not an inconvenience at all. I would stay here again the next time I go to London.

The guesthouse was very clean and tidy and staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size and very comfortable. It was a little noisy at night with the windows open but once they were closed, it was fine. The hotel is around 5 minutes walk from Woodside Park tube. The tube journey into the city takes around 20 - 30 minutes which is fine. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice. My only slight reservation is with the quality of the places to eat in the immediate vicinity. Though there are plenty of places to eat, it isn't exactly fine dining. We had a couple of meals at O'Neil's Pub and one at the local Indian. They were fine but not the sort of food that would attract me in the future. Other than that, I'd say this is an excellent hotel, providing B & B accommodation at a very reasonable price.

Nice hotel at 30 minutes by train from London center. Spacious room and very good British breakfast. Possibility to eat in the flat thanks to the well equiped kitchen.

If I could find something to complain about, it's that the breakfast bacon was smoked, and I prefer unsmoked. Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay. The beds, duvets and pillows are heavenly - everything crispy clean, as it should be. The en suite bathroom was a real bathroom, and not a plastic cubicle stuck in a corner.......beware other hotels in this price range! I can highly recommend this establishment.

We enjoyed our 6 nite stay. The location was quiet at night with good restaurants in the area. yet close to the tube so we could do the tourist sites of london. Breakfast was excellent served buffet style. It was also nice to retire to the bar at nite for a wee dram. We enjoyed our stay and when we return we will most likely stay here again.

Absolutely first class bed and breakfast accommodation, just 40 minutes or so from the centre of London. 5 minutes walk from tube station; lots of restaurants and local facilities within 2 minutes walk. Spotlessly clean, highly professional, excellent breakfasts. Really great value for money - you could easily spend twice as much elsewhere in London and still be disappointed. This will be my first choice each time I stay over.
