Very central. Minutes from almost everything down town. No elevator. Our room was on 4th floor. Safe did not work. Neither did they fix it. It seemed as if it was broke for ever. Staff was very helpful. Included breakfast was pretty good. Is very decent bang for the buck. Rooms do need maintenance attetion ( broken or fused bulbs, sloppy paint job etc)

I don't know where to start with...this hotel was so much below our expectations. First of all, there's no "apartments", just rooms they like to call apartments only because they have a kitchenette. We booked an apartment for 3 people and got one for 4. Still, it didn't feel spacious at all, probably also due to its triangular shape that made us feel uneasy the whole time, not to mention the balcony on a crammed courtyard where you can see inside homes people cooking and going to the bathroom, while at the same time they can also see you. Breakfast is poor. Rooms are made around 13.30, right when normal people usually have lunch. The wardrobe was full with blankets leaving literally no room for our own clothes. The beds are stiff. The personnel was totally unwelcoming and useless: when we arrive the girl didn't say a word or rise an eyebrow for a minute or two, when we were intimated "DOCUMENTS!"; when we asked how to reach the airport, at the reception they said the only way was to take a taxi...but we found out the AeroBus stop is right across the street. The room was dirty and the kitchenette even worse, you definitely wouldn't want to cook anything there! considering that in Lisbon you can find decent hotels at half the price, this self-awarded 1st category 4 star hotel is to be avoided for your own sake.

Very well located. Breakfast was plenty and nutritious. It is a wonderful place to visit the beautiful city of Lisbon. There are so many restaurants and bakeries around this area. If I could I would come back every summer to This place in Lisbon.

Room assigned was on top level (4th floor). The first room had a top and bottom level so I requested another as this was not to our comfort. We were assigned another room next door on same level. The room was spacious and had a kitchen. Ceiling was angled (top floor) so walk with caution. The beds were good. The television was lacking. Size was about 10 inch and when turned on the characters had green faces with poor image quality. The bathroom was a good size, but it was surrounded by mold on ceilings and walls and the bathtub. The floor outside the bathroom creaked considerably and made us nervous to step on. Two air conditioners were available and worked. The one in the main area with two twin beds leaked and we needed to place garbage container to catch the leak. Eventually, it was not used. The same wall had power switches. Finally figured out how to use, but they started smoking and sparking. We did notify desk of leak, but no response during our stay. Parking was good and gentleman who assisted us was nice. We booked two nights, but left after one night given safety concerns with electric and mold. Based on this stay, would not stay here again. The breakfast was good. The location was also excellent.

For the last day of the year we stayed there and was a very good choose! good staff! good quality of the rooms (big) and good breackfast! the position is very good in a good calm area but very near to the centre and to the turistic places! also the barrio alto is very near and it's easy to go there! I suggest this place also for the rapport quality- prices!

I found only two benefits of this hotel. First its location in the downtown Lisbone close to most of the city attractions. And second my wife did like breakfast. In my view it was reasonable though the kitchen was quite small and during the rush-hour it was difficult to force the way through to the buffet table. The drawbacks were good audibility of what is happening in the floor and neighboring rooms. The construction site view from the window did not inspire at all.

The Pension is just what you need to enjoy a short and busy stay in Lisbon. It is very well located, near the Rossio Station, just two blocks from Airport bus stop, downtown Lisbon. Good and clean beds, great buffet breakfast. The street is not very clean but all in all it was a very good relationship quality price.

I think Pension Pensao Residencial Roma can caters all kinds of clientele; except people with disabilities because they don't have an elevator. I didn't mind the stairs. Stayed here for second year in a row--one of the most convenient places to stay in Lisbon, right near a main train station, Metro, bus lines, and quite good restaurants. Very well treated by staff. Room small, but quite adequate for a single person who was out and about most of the time, and after an email request, was given a room on the lobby (2nd) floor, so only needed to climb one flight of stairs from ground level. Breakfast nothing fancy, but quite adequate. Doesn't have a restaurant, but just up at the top of the street is the Lusitania, a good restaurant, and on the Avenida da Liberdade very close by is the Restuarante Esplanade which serves truly excellent meals, has very friendly and helpful waiters with good English, and also has an outdoor cafe area for beer and coffee in good weather. Hope to stay there again next year!

I have made my reservation for 6 months ahead & I was requesting for the room 106. I was really surprised when I 've got the this room even i was asking for it many months earlier. they charged me the same price as have been queted even if it was more like a twin room(i booked single)the staff was really good especially the breakfast crew with the ladys. the lokation itself is perfect as can not find any better. the main street of lisbon just on the corner subway 2 min. walk.I have enjoyed the food & drink of this town.quite cheap and tasted like real home made ones.

In the current economy, one can do much better than this hotel for not much more money. In a better economy, that might not be true. Our initial room was tiny, but they did upgrade us to a larger room for no extra charge when we requested. On the plus side, it is in an excellent location for touring downtown.

The Pensao Residencial Roma is a basic (but perfectly fine) place to stay, if luxuries are not required and your main criteria are a clean room and comfortable bed. The room we had was very quiet, and as the hotel is on a side street I expect it is never noisy to stay there. The hotel also has a small bar where we sampled some Portuguese spirits.

Single room was small but adequate; room was on 4th floor from street, with no elevator, but staff carried luggage up and down stairs for me, so it worked out OK. Staff VERY helpful and courteous, suggesting events to go to (evening of fado) and phoning re ticket availability elsewhere; very good English. Breakfast quite adequate--good range of choice. Location really excellent--only a few steps to Metro on Avenida da Liberdade, and to Elevador da Gloria up to Bairro Alto--couldn't be more convenient. Roma recommended to me by friends who had stayed there--would stay there again, and recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind some stairs! Satt made my stay in Lisbon very pleasant.

We stayed the first time and took an appartement. Very spacious, clean and 100% recommandable. Only thing was water coming through the sealing during a heavy rain which forced us to change the room. This was not so comfortable, but the staff was very sorry about that. The location is perfect to explore Lisbon, the aerport bus stops almost in front of the hotel, very convenient. Would choose it again ...

The room was clean and spacious and the hotel very well located to visit Lisbon (as a plus, the hotel should indicate that the public bus from the airport stops a few steps from the door). However, the door lock did not appear to offer much safety. Also, the room, facing the street, was noisy (needed to use air conditionning). Finally, the breakfast was rather disappointing (instant coffee, limited choice, artificial juice).

A very simple pension with little charm or amenities. Also, no elevator, so it's a bit of a chore if you have a high room (like we had); indeed, the whole atmosphere is a bit drab. Still, the location is unbeatable (just off the main boulevard, near the grand Rossio square), the price attractive, the rooms quiet, the breakfast fine.

I would not recommend this hotel unless you are desperate and tired. We called the hotel a week in advance to request a room on the top floor facing the street and we ended up getting a room on the second floor facing... a wall! Very quiet indeed but not ideal if you suffer from claustrophobia.

This was my first time at Pensao Residencial Roma, and I think it was a very good choice, above all if compared with other big and expensive hotels in the same town. Four years ago I went in another one: it was expensive but old and dirty. On the contrary, Pensao Roma is in an excellent position, and offers every facility. Of course... you need goog legs & training if your room is on the 4th floor! (but indeed we knew, thanks to the website, so no problem)

The location is perfect and the staff is nice (actually like most of the Portuguese). Pensão Residencial Roma has an excellent location quite near the Praca dos Restauradores. Our double room was surprisingly large, the air conditioner worked perfectly, and the bathroom was very good. Good breakfast, friendly and competent staff. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. There is no need to take a taxi from the airport - we did, and were fooled by the taxi driver - as there is a bus stop for the airport bus and also a metro station just a few minutes away from the hotel (Praca dos Restauradores). If you are interested in going by tram in Lisbon, you just need to walk (approximately five minutes) to the Praca da Figueira: here you will find nos. 5, 12, and 28.

Perfect location, excellent prices, terrific breakfast for modest hotel. Friendly management. Spacious, no frills but nice room and bathroom. It would help if it were not so poorly lit, making it seem dingy. There is NO elevator and it is 2 flights up just to reception. Beware if this is a concern. Maids at breakfast time sit in kitchen yelling at each other. Complaints do nothing--if you're noise sensitive, a 1st floor room may be a problem.

The hotel map could have given more details. Even the taxi driver had some difficulty to find out the exact position of the hotel from the map. Our room is located on the 6th floor in a building without lift. With heavy bags it is very difficult to negotiate the staircase. The hotel staff offered no assistance. It is located near to an underground station, which makes it an ideal place for traveller who want to see the place by themselves. The hotel, being located in a side street, is quiet and our spacious and clean Family Room is equpped with a kitchen with utencils.
