Inn York House - Lisbon

Pretty lovely little hotel. Excellent continental breakfast. The so called 'design' room was spacious and clean. The beds (2single!) were a bit uncomfortable but ok. Because all rooms are located in an ancient convent there is an elaborated acoustic - I could hear the telephone at the reception desk excellently all the night. Awful view into the 2nd yard. Delicious fine dining restaurant (diner ~30€). It takes ~45min to walk to Rossio uphill/downhill or 25min the boring but plain way at the near docks. Tram station to Alfama some 100m. Notice also the restaurant 'O caldo verde' nearby offering tasty diner (~10-15€).

Helpfull staff, good service, noisy room close to reception and entrance. Accomdation good/ comfortable. Easy to get too and from the hotel. Some damage to tiles in the bathroom which had a makeshift repair. On the whole ok although expensive.

This was a very nice hotel with a very pleasant and helpful staff. The room was showing some sign of wear, but it was a nice size and comfortable. The garden was beautiful, but unfortunately the weather was not. This probably affected our experience somewhat. The street was very noisy due to a number of bars so our street facing room was not as peaceful as it could have been.

Hotel was beautiful. Surrouncing area was depressing. Aptitude of front desk was horrendous. Restaurant and services at restaurant absolutely great, smashing. The main problem is that the hotel is located in a very trashed area of Lisbon, and although it is close to better areas, the front desk had little notion of how to get there, and (worse) even less willingness to help us with it. Parking is very limited. In sum, we loved the facilities, but would not return on the basis of the lack of helpfulness of the front desk, the parking problem and the unpleasantness of the area, for the price.
