I recommend a visit to Pastelaria Cinderella, just across the street, in the same square. Their bolo rei, they claim, is celebrated worldwide. In any case, the selection of pasteis is excellent.

Really spacious room but very small bathroom; lovely location (in pretty area near some nice cafes and restaurants); Common areas of hotel well kept and nicely decorated; My roomate found it a little noisy due to traffic but I slept with earplugs and didnt hear a thing!; Quite nice buffet breakfast served at cafe next door; Staff a little mixed (Vanda, the Australian/Portuguese receptionis is very professional and helpful, but the male receptionist was not so great - the lift was broken when we arrived and we had to climb 5 huge staircases with all our luggage: he just laughed and did not offer any help when there was another employee just standing around!). Overall, i think this place is great value for money - we shared a triple room and it cost only 20€ each including breakfast! Very convenient for airport and located in a really nice area. The male receptionist let down the "customer service" front, but all in all it was a positive experience.
