Locanda del Prione - Guest House - La Spezia
Via Del Prione 152 - La Spezia
877-662-6988The guest house was entirely restored in 2002, maintaining unchanged the peculiar internal distribution.
It is placed in the inside of a typical Ligurian "terratetto" construction that goes back to the year 1200, in the heart of La Spezia in the very central Via del Prione. This property has provided all content and is solely responsible for its accuracy.
Nice, clean and central rooms, very helpful and kind staff (thanks Paola).

We arrived very late at night because we missed our train on the way to La Spezia, and the latest check in was supposed to be 8:30pm. We were very graciously met at the front door after a short wait - we were just happy to be let in! It is a bed and breakfast - not a hotel - so there isn't someone on attendance at all time of the day and night. The room was very spacious and very clean. Great location in La Spezia, on a main street with a lot going on just outside your doorstep. Even with that, the room was very quiet. Breakfast was in a small cafe about a 5 minute walk away - it was only ok. We did not eat there again on our 3rd morning. Very pleased with our stay - we would definitely stay there again.

Very nice spacious accomodation in pedestrian mall. Lovely staff but lots of stairs to room. Unfortunately there were no towels changed over 4 nights. You had to walk to a cafe for breakfast, but this was OK as the website said no breakfast included, so this was a bonus. Extremely good value for money and easy access to Cinque Terre.

It was ok for basic amenities. The area is pretty rustic so it may have been one of the better stays for the area. However, the shower stall had black mold in it, there was a layer of dust under the bed and the air conditioner's filter was very dirty. Other people in our group stayed in a different room and said that their room had a horrible smell the second night. A young couple rents the rooms; they are very nice but do not stay on the property so if anything is needed when they're not there, it'll have to wait. A big plus is that they actually had A/C, whereas a lot of the hotels in the area apparently do not have. The rooms are on the main street in La Spezia so there is quick access to cafes, train station, etc. It was quiet during our stay.

We had a wonderful stay. We walked the area and ejoyed a great dinner. The service was wonderful and the room was exactly as it appeared on the site. We were so happy we decided to stay an extra day! Close to the train station and some great shops!

This was a very nice place. I was not expecting to be in a building on the main pedestrian street in La Spezia. You do have to go up stairs to get there. But the room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Great air conditioning! Because you're not in a building that's a separate hotel or inn, we didn't meet anyone other than the person in charge. She was very helpful in every respect.

Very central location, walked downstairs and you were at shops and cafes. Less than 10 minute walk to ferry that would take you to Cinque Terre. Very basic room, uncomfortable bed! As we were travelling with young children would have been good to have some glasses, tea & coffee, milk & breakfast facilities in the room.

We were for 2 nights in Locanda del Prione. It was a little bit difficult to find the way to go there from the trainstation but we managed. You must go left when you go out of the trainstation, then downhill and straight on during 10 minutes and you are in the good street. Very easy when you know. The room was clean, with air conditionning and good windows, useful becuase of the very popular street. You must call the phone number when you arrive. The girl arrived 5 minutes after our call.

This is a great funky hotel. The sign can be easy to miss but if you know the number of hotel it isn't too hard to find. The room we stayed in was huge, with great furniture and accents. It was very quiet even though it was on a busy street. The windows faced a courtyard.

Hotel was great! Advising staff of your arrival time is impt because the staff is only in the office in the morning. Location is a short walk from train station. It is noisy outside during the day, but quiet at night because night life is limited. We would go back to this hotel.

Overall, good experience. The girl led us to believe that there was onsite car parking, however when we arrived, we were instructed to either (a) park in a free public car park that was 15min walk to the hotel, or (b) park in a paid car park that was 2min walk to the hotel. Othewise great location.

The room was excellent, the attention and edication fo the owner was outstanding. But you need to warn people about the difficulties to get parking for your car and that you have to carry your bags, at least 200 meters to get to the hotel, and then upstairs

We wanted to tour around toscane but also pay a visit to Cinque Terra. The Locanda is situated in 1 of the main shoppingstreets of La Spezia. There is a parking area around the corner. We were nicely surprised by the apartment (number 5)! During the day we were around La Spezia but realy enjoyed our stay at the Locanda. It was nice, quite and peacefull.

Our room at Locanda del Prione was stunning. It was very roomy and beautifully appointed. We'll definitely stay here if we return to La Spezia and we'll recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Location is right in the middle of La Spezia, in a pedestrian throughfare, so convenient for the local restaurants, shops and the marina, which was a pleasant surprise. It is approx 10 minutes walk from the rail station and 5 minutes walk from the sea front. Our room was upgraded to a suite and was very spacious, it can easily accomodate 4 people if required. There was no disturbance from the street below as the room was at the back of the inn at the top of the building (if you have problems climbing stairs you may wish to consider staying elsewhere). The owner was very flexible regarding an afternoon check in time and helpful regarding local information. There is no lobby area, or additional facilities so do not expect hotel type accomodation, it is a room only. In summary: good value for money, clean, spacious, friendly and convenient.

A lot of things not as advertised. No private parking (expensive nearby public parking available). No air conditioning. Very noisy street. Not enough hot water even for one person to take shower. Forget about driving because it is located in a pedestrian-only area which was never been mentioned in the ad. Poor english help. We feel like we've been riped-off.

This place was awesome. a little hard to find, because its simply a door, and the lady who runs it isn't there, you have to call her (which sucks for those who dont have easy access to a phone), but the actual rooms they have are great. the windows are thick, and block out almost all the street noise, its right on the main mall so easy access to night life if youre so inclined. all in all, highly reccommended. we would definitely go back.

The hostess did not remember the time period in which I would arrive. Thus nobody was there to let me in and nobody could be reached. Consequently I had to spend the first night in another hotel.

Warning: its very noisy sleeping on a pedestrian thoroughfare where people promenade all night. We had to wait for more than an hour for anyone to let us in, even though the confirmation email said to just give them half an hour notice and we gave 4 hours. However, efficient little room, nice bathroom, and very handy to shops and the train station and the water. And we appreciated the restaurant suggestions.
