I have problems with my back and I was surprised to find that the Hotel does NOT HAVE ELEVATOR ? And imagine how nice is to carry the luggages 40kg and more on the stairs. After my experience to the hotel I am strugelling into the hospital with a hudge backpain. I will never choose the hotel if I will knew that it doesn't have elevator ! Dear travellers, please do not choose this hotel, it is noisy- in front of the hotel there is a self service supermarket , young people commming, drinking, shouting, hotel not well managed, breakfast poor for what you pay, not to many parking places, no nice surroundings, no restaurants, no other facilities. Internet verry poor signal in the room, it is a transit hotel not worthy to pay so much.

Bit farther from the train station than expected, which made hard to explore Cinque Terre. Not super safe to walk, as you had to go through a busy and dirty traffic tunnel. Better to take taxi. Hotel overpriced for what you get. Private secure parking was excellent. Breakfast was very good with nice buffet and made to order coffees. Better to get hotel in Riomaggiore or one of the other main Cinque Terre cities.

We stayed for 4 nights and were impressed with the size and cleanliness of the bedroom and bathroom. There was a safe in the room and the room was cleaned daily. Great value for money and quite cheap. Breakfast upstairs on the sheltered patio and in the dining room was excellent although we did get charged for our second coffees, without warning, in the dining room. Free hot and cold drinks available anytime from the patio machines. The staff had good English and were friendly and helpful. Internet access available on hotel computer and WiFi. Laundry facilities are not available at the hotel but are only 5 minutes away in the same street. Would stay here again.

The hotel's information states that private parking is available but it should also state that there is a cost (E18/day under cover or E10/day out front in the street in a spot reserved for the hotel's guests). As other reviewers have stated this is a well located property for easy access to most transport options. Less able people may have a problem as access to all rooms is by the stairs. The rooms are very clean, reasonably well appointed, of average area and the Included breakfast was pretty good.

A little walk from the crowds of the touristy section, the Corallo was a great find! We had a small (but very comfortable) room with everything we needed to explore La Spezia and the surrounding beauty of the Cinq Terre. We walked from the train station with our rolling suitcases..note to anyone who may trust the "walking" mode of any hand-held GPS system....DO NOT WALK THROUGH THE TUNNEL! Take the longer route. The included breakfast was perfectly adequate and the check-in/check-out was fast & friendly.

The hotel and staff were nice, the rooms very very small, but the location is not that convenient as the train station was a 30 minute walk and there were very few restaurants around the hotel. Otherwise a good address for future trips to 5 terre.

La Spezia was nice to stay in as there were lots of restaurants and probably more to do at night than in any of the cinque terre. It was easy to travel into cinque terre by either walking (20 mins) or by taking the bus (10 mins) to the train station.

This hotel was as expected for the rate charged, however we were very disturbed by the amount of noise coming from the dwellings above - constant footstamping, child screaming, and chair dragging on the floor above (our ceiling) kept us awake at night. The hotel also has a lack of restaurants/shops/places to eat etc in the nearby area.

We had booked a double room some months prior to out trip. When we arrived we were disappointed to find we had been given a rather small room with construction work going on directly outside our room which involved jack hammers, and workmen six inches from our patio door. But to their credit when we asked if there was another room available they went out of their way to give a a choice of all the other vacant rooms that were available for the 3 days we were to stay, We chose a lovely room overlooking the street which was spacious and beautifully quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and did not make us feel bad about asking to change rooms.

We were two mature couples traveling together and stayed at the Hotel Corolla for two nights. The lady at the front desk was so helpful in recommending a great restaurant just around the corner and giving directions to the docks where we got the boat to Monterosso. We hiked the amazing trail to the other villages. All in all a wonderful experience! The rooms we had were very adequate and quiet once we closed the window. Our room faced the street. The breakfast was good, only could've offered a little more fruit. We had a nice sitting room outside our room that made the hotel feel like a home away from home. Recommend this hotel for easy access to boats to Cinque Terre, and if you are driving a car, they have private indoor parking that you can reserve ahead.

The room was spacious by European standards, but a long way from the train station. We had to take a taxi (10 euro). There is no lift, so be prepared to climb up stairs with your luggage. Our triple room opened on to a private patio with an awning and table and chairs, which was nice, but it was also surrounded by private residence buildings so the view was nothing to smile about. There was an A/C unit, but no A/C flowed from it, only heat, and the beds were very hard. The front desk staff was hit and miss - the check-in girl was not very personable at all but a girl that was on duty later was very helpful in finding a nice restaurant for dinner (We highly recommend LaFonterna just around the corner!). All in all, if you're looking for a jumping off point to visit Portevenere and the Cinque Terre, don't stay in LaSpezia. Although it is convenient to the boat service and the train, it is not a tourist-friendly town.

Nice clean room with lovely terrace. Opened onto the courtyard in the back which was very large with lots of buildings but very quiet at night. People next door weren't quiet though and we could hear them fairly easily (but I just put in earplugs!). Shower was tiny but usable, rest of bath nice. Breakfast was alright but not a lot of variety. The kids loved the hot chocolate though! Staff was very nice, courteous and helpful. We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Corallo. It was most enjoyable. The front office staff was very helpful, the breakfast and breakfast areas were more than adequate, except I was surprised to be charged for an additional cup of coffee, and the location near town and the harbor offered the best of both worlds. However as a result there was some street noise, but not enough to be too troublesome or ask for a room change. The rooms were small but extremely clean and well equipped. There is little space in the lobby, however there is a charming little nook upstairs to relax, and discuss your plans and adventures. The restuarant recommendations were excellent. We took the ferry to Cinque Terre and rode the train back, it was a memorable experience. Since it was the beginning of November, it was cool, and not crowded at all.

This was our first stay at Hotel Corallo. The hotel was clean, but undergoing construction so it was noisy. Construction equipment was staged in front of the entrance which made it difficult to unload our luggage. Access to the subterranean parking garage was difficult due to a narrow driveway. The breakfast provided was plentiful and the staff very pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately, I left my sandals in the room. My efforts, both via phone and e-mail have been ignored which lowered my level of satisfaction rating towards competence of employees.

The hotel hosts were friendly and helpful in getting information to Cinque Terre. You can take the train to the villages but we found out taking the boat was better. Great location and easy to find. We wanted to be somewhere close to the Cinque Terre and it was a perfect location. We took the tourist cruise to the first village and hike to the rest of the others. Overall, it took us 1.5 hours but average would be 2-2.5 hours. One of the most beautiful scenery in Italy. We recommend comfortable shoes and light outfit. We had three really good nights at this hotel. As the gateway to the Cinque Terre , La Spezia and this hotel are well placed. It is reasonably close to all amenities although it is just outside of the CBD, but 10 mins walk has you where you need to be (ie boats to CT), 20 mins to the station or about 8 euro by cab. Helpful, friendly English speaking staff, good breakfast and clean rooms. A little bit noisy due to being near a major artery but ask for a quieter room. Many restaurants are about 10 mins walk away. See the CT by boat and then walk between the villages and catch the many trains back between each and to La Spezia. It's just as easy to pay as you go for the trains rather than a package. We will stay here again.

We stayed in La Spezia at Hotel Corallo for 2 nights as a hopping off point for hiking the Cinque Terre. For half the price of any of the 3 stars in the Cinque Terre, it was well worth it. The AC was a nice retreat after 2 long days of hiking. There was a refridgerator in the room, the beds were very comfortable, and breakfast was excellent (though I would like to see some hard boiled eggs on the menu). The hospitality was wonderful as every member of the staff treated us with a smile and a can do attitude. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends, especially if affordabilty is a factor in the decision to be able to stay in the area more than just 1 night.

The hotel was lovely; large rooms good breakfast. La Spezia is a port and not a beachy tourist destination. However, there is a very nice pizza restaurant one block behind the hotel.

The staff was wonderfully warm and helpful. The location was not very good. There was no elevator. While there is only one flight to go up if your bags are heavy this is problem.

Excellent location for Cinque Terre Travelers. Easy access to bus/train. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The hotel breakfast cafe was an excellant way to start our day! Grazie, Paolo, for looking out for us! We wished we had allowed for one more day just to hang out in La Spezia. There is an amusement park within a short walking distance, a grocery store close by and a large, covered, daily market on the bus route. The only slight disappointment that we experienced was that the walls do seem thin as you can hear your neighbors when they are in the bathroom...fortunately, ours were not obnoxious and it was only first thing in the morning and early bed time that we heard noice, so it didn't really bother us. Also, we found out that our ATM card would not work in three different machines. We had just enough money to get home with...eek! Thank you, Jesus!

The hotel was well situated for access to the station, boat trips to the various places of interest, a great place to stay for visiting all of the Cinque Terre villages. A pleasant 10-15 mins. walk to many eating houses & also very near to a local supermarket for items you may have forgotten. The excellent up-to-date bathroom with shower cabinet, bidet, toilet, basin & hair-dryer was a very pleasant surprise. the breakfast was excellent, good coffee, variety of choices, well organised & very pleasant staff to greet you.

Reception was cheerful and very helpful with information on directions, restaurants, and banking. Continental breakfast each morning was very good and served with cheerfulness in a pleasant atmosphere. Corallo is located in a safe neighborhood and we were at ease walking in the evening.

We enjoyed our trip to La Spezia and our stay in the Corallo hotel to the full. The Corallo is a small, very cute hotel, almost in the middle of La Spezia. However, the traffic is very typical for an italian city, so it has to be clear that the quietness can't be "excellent". So our mid rating for that should not be a criticism, but the truth...;-) The hotel is located in the mid of many one way streets, so the map of the web page is very useful to find the right way through the streets. But once found, you will have a very pretty time in a professional, but also very familiar italian hotel. Enjoy it.

The Corallo is in an excellent location. The neighborhood is very quaint, well-lit and safe, and a short walk to all of the landmarks. The front desk staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and the rooms are clean and well kept. The elevator is wonderful but the stairs are convenient when you're in a rush. The Corallo is an excellent value for the money.

The hotel was a little hard to find, but in a good location. We arrived early in the day and the very kind woman that cleaned the rooms arranged it so that we could have a room off of the patio. It was very nice, we had breakfast out on the patio the next day. The hotel was close to the bus, which we took to the train station and then rode to Cinque Terre, which was absolutely beautiful. We will definetly stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

Warm welcoming to the hotel, nice room, good price, well located near the port and at a reasonable distance to the railway station. Walking distance to a number of good restaurants. The staff was very helpful, polite and nice. And we really enjoyed the breakfast! With style in the design of the breakfast room, service and food itself! And it was tasty! A very good start of the day! We enjoyed staying there. And we would definitely choose it for our next visit to La Spezia.

This was one of a number of hotels my wife & I booked on the Venere website for our 4 week tour of Italy. The location of the hotel was very good, the staff were very helpful and being able to park on-site was a bonus. We would certainly stay again if we were to revisit La Spezia

This hotel had a fairly good breakfast, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room we had was plain and not very attractive, but the beds were comfortable. (The towels were threadbare and there were no amenities.) It was impossible to walk to the train station from the hotel, as the front desk had said we could. A friendly stranger on the street helped us find a bus after we realized we could not walk without going through a long dark traffic tunnel filled with speeding cars.

Hotel Corallo was just what we wanted in a place to stay, where we would use the spot as a jumping off point to Cinque Terre. It was clean and comfortable and the staff was very good. Its location was centralized so that you could walk all over the city and the water front, if you wished.

We found the hotel adequate but rahter inpersonal. The lighting in the room was very poor and the room could have handled more furniture and pictures on the wall to give it some personality. We didn't enjoy La Spezia as a location but it served our purpose.
