Lamp Guesthouse - Istanbul

1) A better map to show location would be a good idea. Our taxi driver got frustrated because he could not find The Lamp Guesthouse. 2) There is an excellent restaurant (The Istanblue) right next door to The Lamp Guest House....very reasonable prices and excellent food. Highly recommended. 3) Lamp Guesthouse was wonderfully placed to see everything in the Sultanahmet. Fabulous view of the Blue Mosque from the breakfast room. 4) The 'Venere' website does not show the correct photographs of The Lamp Guesthouse. They are of some other property. 5) The manager, Mehmet, was extremely helpful both before we arrived and once we were in Istanbul. 6) This was the first time we had stayed at the Lamphouse . We would happily stay there again.

Although the room was tiny and well-worn, the bed was extremely comfortable with fabulous linens and comforter. The view of the Blue Mosque from the terrace was an awesome breakfast treat! A perfect base if all you need is a good bed, a hot shower and breakfast.

Pictures were a little misleading. Rooms were quiet small, no shower curtain, and the terrace had only two tables. Great location though, and I had a beautiful view of the Blue Mossque. All I needed was a bed and shower, so it was fine. If I was looking for anything more, I wouldn't stay here. It was clean and the staff was very nice, and the free Internet was convenient.
