Difficult to find. Very close to lots of restaurants and shops, and only a few minutes walk to the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque. Room was very small, but clean. Breakfast was okay, but not freshly prepared. All in all I would stay again.

I had to book a hotel room in the last minute - on the day of my flight. The booking was confirmed quickly and I received a warm email from the hotel. I also found out later that they sent me another email with instructions of arrival and so on, but it was sent while I was already in the air. The service upon my arrival was good, including resolving a misunderstanding with the taxi driver (who was not 100% innocent! - but that's a universal issue that comes with this trade). I was a bit worried from the looks of the hotel at the beginning, but the receptionist gave me thorough and polite walk-through. I total, I was satisfied with the room and service, particularly given the short notice of search and booking. Finally, the hotel is located very very well in relation to the touristic sites, while being quiet at night for a good sleep.

Its normal hotel for attractive price. Its good option for young people, smaller groups and single travellers. The hotel is located in the centre of the Sultanahmet. Shortcoming is small rooms and very small bathroom. We lived in Triple Delux. There isnt wardrobe, refrigerator and safe box. But its not big problem for this price.Hotel manager ( Metin) is friendly and happy to help. There is good breakfast and dining room with Bosphorus view. If I would go back to Istanbul I would choose this hotel again. If you are looking for a good cheap hotel in the centre then this hotel is for you.

We were uterly dissapointed. The rooms were very small and poky. Bad odours and noisy environment. Sadly cannot referance this stay compared to others in Istanbul, but with referance to what we experienced in Italy- it is poor. Positive side: Friendly and helpful owner who speaks a bit of English.

Very nice stay. Very helpful and friendly owner. Chora guesthouse has a personal feel to it as it has just 5 rooms. Spot-on location directly next to Aya Sofya and Blue Mosque - and at the same time in a quiet side street. Cheap prices, good value for money - but prices like this mean tiny rooms. 3 very nice rooms - the other 2 either with no window at all (single room) or only a window into the breakfast room (one of the doubles), so those 2 rooms are only recommended for short stays. Rooms are nicely decorated with colourful throws, cushions, hangings etc. - but lack a wardrobe which might come in handy for a longer stay. Breakfast is okay, but repetitive (again: value for money). Great views from the breakfast room over the Marmara Sea. We'll definitely go there again if we come back to Istanbul.

We had an e mail from the guesthouse stating that we would be fetched from the airport if we sent them our flight details, which we did. We were not fetched as promised. When we phoned the Guesthouse from the airport they lied and said that the transport did not wait for us and they would send it back again! We took a taxi instead. The worst was that the manager/owner took every opportunity to convince us that he did not confirm our flight details. This was very unpleasant for us as the argument continued for 3 whole days. We also reported a small water leak in the bedroom ceiling. The owner/manager disbelieved us and asked three times if we did not spill the water! If you manage not to have a disagreement with the owner/manager, you would have an OK stay. Rooms are small as well as the breakfast room and staircase. Strange smell in entrance hall, possibly cat spray as there are many cats in Istanbul. Good breakfast and good beds, bed linen and towels. Tiny bathroom with a hand basin almost too small to use. 5 minute stroll to the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and Aga Sophia.

We stayed there for the first time. A small property with traditional style room decoration. The "sea view" room overlooks actually the dining place where breakfast is served, so no privacy at all. But the view from the dining room is really remarkable. Staircase not suitable for elderly people - very steep and narrow. For us it was no problem anyway.

The rooms were small but satisfactory. Everything is really well maintained. Though the building must be quite old, it's been nicely made into an inviting guesthouse with a touch of old Turkey, I think. The area is very quiet and just a few steps from the main tourist attractions. And it's also very near to the seaside where you can stroll or go for a run.

We have really enjoyed our holiday in Chora Guesthouse. Very helpful and friendly staff made us feel like in home. The location was perfect, in the tourism area but in the quiet little street. The breakfast was good. The room was quite small, but we only slept there so it was ok. The bed and toillet were really clean. An excellent value for an excellent price.
