How to reach Amuri Estate Retreat Inn

By Car:
From Christchurch: Take State Highway 1 and follow signs north to Picton.
Just north of the town of Amberley take the turn-off for State Highway 7, travel towards Westport over the Lewis Pass.
Turn-off on Hwy 7a to Hanmer Springs.
After crossing the single lane bridge across the Waiau River gorge, take the first road on the right, Medway Road. This is just before the Hanmer River bridge.
Go down Medway Road and you will see two stone pillars set back from the road on the right hand side marking the entrance of our drive.
Go up this drive and you will see the sign of 'Amuri Estate Retreat' on the left.

From the West Coast: Take State Highway 7 towards Christchurch.
After crossing over the Lewis Pass, it's a 45 minute drive before the sign-posted turn-off on Hwy 7a on the left to Hanmer Springs.
After crossing the single lane bridge across the Waiau River gorge, take the first road on the right, Medway Road. This is just before the Hanmer River bridge.

From Kaikoura: Take the sign-posted 'Alpine Pacific Highway' off State Highway 1 on the right just south of Kaikoura.
You will enjoy the drive through beautiful high country scenery and small country towns such as Waiau and Rotherham, before coming to State Highway 7 where you turn right towards Lewis Pass / Wesport.
