Ufuk Hotel Pension - Göreme

The bedding was horrible, the bathrooms were worse. The staff were very pleasant and obliging, but the hotel was awful.

The location is good, right in the middle of the heart of Goreme without being in the busy street. The room is absolutely tiny. They've put the tiny bathroom (and I mean tiny -- my 5'11 boyfriend could barely sit comfortably on the toilet or fit under the shower) in a raised platform of some sort, and we had issues with the water seeping out while someone's in the shower. Some guests would stay out too late and talk; it wouldn't have been an issue if we couldn't hear them and/or their phones. Wifi's good, but faster on the public areas. We would've wanted to drink the wines we brought along on their patio, but their sign said no to that.

Mr Orhan, the owner of Ufuk Hotel, is a wonderful host. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and provide us with services we needed such as finding tickets to events, reserving seats on the airport shuttle, etc. He informed us about what was available locally and even drove us to the Goreme Open Air museum and the Turkish night event in his car without expecting any compensation for doing so. The entrance to the hotel is very steep. Once we got up, we chose one of the rooms on the upper floor of the hotel, rather than the cave room on the lower floor, because the cave rooms did not have any windows. We found the rooms on our floor to be pokey and the bathroom was odd, at best, being built on a raised level with two steps to get in, a low door on which we constantly banged our heads, and on the whole very tight and hard to move around. The rooms were also not airconditioned, and it was quite unbearable during the day given that we were in Goreme during the month of July. The place is certainly friendly and being right next to town, it is well located. The relaxed setting of the entire place, with many couches and diwans, trees in the courtyard, swing on the porch etc. gave it a homey feel. The breakfast offered, which is included in the cost of the room, was substantial. This place might be comfortable for a young person or couple, but would certainly be a challenge for anyone middle aged or older.

Orhan is an excellent host.He and his brother Soner are warm and friendly people.They go out of their way to make you feel at home .We enjoyed our stay at Goreme.The pension is conveniently located and very cozy.

We just LOVED our stay in Ufuk Pansion.We stayed for 3 nights. We were travelling with our 1 year old child, and the staff were very co operative. Location is AMAZING. it was just the perfect choice.

Ufuk Hotel Pension is centrally located amidst the rocks of Goreme. Our cave room was very basic but worth the money we paid for. We love our stay here and will come again. Mr. Orhan, wife and Mr. Soner are all warm hearted people. Much recommended if you are not looking for luxury.

Ufuk is definitely THE most worthwhile hostel that we've stayed during our trip in Turkey. Its location is perfect with stunning and gorgeous natural surroundings and above all, the boss of Ufuk is a very kind and helpful man who is also an excellent cook. Do try to taste his home made honey! Amazing!

The best quality/price rate during our whole trip through Turkey. Excellent position, a few steps from the village center, a walking distance from Open Air Museum. Rooms are small (expecially the bathrooms) and simple, but comfortable. The staff is great!

the pension is located in a excellent position between the center and the open air museum in Goreme. the youngest of the three brothers which deal the pension picked up us from the bus station at 6.30 o' clock (very helpful when you arrive tired after having spent the night on bus!) rooms are clean enogh, and the garden is marvellous and breakfast fantastic (try home made apricot marmelade...=))the oldest brothers is very available to give you useful information about what you can do in cappadocia. great guy!
