The hotel was small and friendly. The room maids were very good and the general level of cleanliness was good. The breakfast staff were not so good. They were slow clearing tables and certain foods were always running out and took several reminders to replenish them. The rooms adjacent to the pool suffer from a lot of noise from the terrace and restaurant above. There is little or no sound insulation between the floor of the restaurant and these rooms. The car park is very congested and there is no alternative parking available. This is not made clear in the hotel information. The hotel has, I believe, about 40 rooms and car parking for maybe 12 small cars.

I stayed at the Quinta Pestrello with my wife. We had a wonderful holiday and the staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful. The only downside to this hotel is the swimming pool is a little smaller than expected and the hotel is on the corner of a busy road so there is quite a lot of traffic noise. However neither of these spoilt our holiday and we would certainly stay there again.

Very good place for the beginning of a visit to Madeira; close to the historical centre with many options to eat available within a 15-20 minutes walk.

How to reach Inn Quinta Perestrello

By car
From the airport take the highway to Funchal, then take the fourth exit on your left towards Hospital, continue ahead, pass the big Hospital roundabout, taking the second left, at the end of the road, turn right on the traffic lights. After the bridge, pass the traffic lights and follow straight around 150 metres, then turn right and on the top of the road, turn right and continue straight away, turning right again, you will find the Quinta Perestrello on your right at around 70 metres.
