Family with young children

Fabulous hotel as a luxury, relaxing break for adults but also amazing childrens' facilities too. Photos don't do the hotel justice, especially on the hotel's own website. The location was great, with fantastic views over Funchal, the hotel's gardens and the sea in the distance. Particularly recommend rooms 211 or 311 on the 2nd and 3rd floors for the best views. Whole place was bright, fresh and airy, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Staff exceptionally helpful where our 2 young children were concerned (ages 3 and 5 months) large rooms, cots, change mats and feeding facilities all ready when we arrived as well as mesh around the balcony to keep the children safe. They even opened the restaurant for us at 6.30pm so we could all eat together which meant our eldest had the benefits of a great children's menu and we got to eat off the a la carte menue and enjoy a drink in nice surroundings. There's a great indoor and outdoor play area and paddling pool. The only downside was that 90% of the other guests were retired British couples - the majority of them were extremely welcoming towards the children but we were the only family there which could make some people feel uncomfortable. Having said that everything else was so amazing that this didn't really matter. We'll be back next year!

Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation.
