Great location at the door of Il Duomo. Rooms quite clean and big enough. The staff (Alessandro) is aware of your happiness always trying to help you. And in the morning, for breakfast, you have to ask for a Capuccino prepared by Alessandro.

We chose this B&B for it's location and it did not disappoint. I am familiar with Florence and just loved walking out the door and being "right there". I would suggest that because this is a B&B that a confirmation is recieved beforehand as there is no conceirge on site. We were coming in from Naples and had sent an email that morning, not the day before as requested (my mistake). The room and premises are beautiful and tastefully done. Breakfest in the common area is good with a nice choice of things. There is a small lift and even tho our room faced the street I was not bothered by the noise. The week (art week) we were there was overrun with tour groups - lesson learned. There may be free museum admission but very crowded. Alessandro was so charming and helpful I will choose this again when I visit beautiful Florence.

We had a wonderful stay and the manager Alessandro was extremely welcoming and pleasant. He went out of his way to make our stay a pleasant one. There was a mix up with the room reservation for the first two nights of our 5 night stay but Alessandro more than made up for it. I would definitely stay here when I return to Florence and would recommend the same to my friends and relatives. The last three nights we had the room we had originally reserved - the biggest room with a balcony. I would request this room for the extra price. It is worth it.

Best B&B that I ever experienced in Italy. Location is excellent, it is just next to Gucci and only 3 - 5 mins walk to restaurants and also 5 mins walk to many major tourist locations. Although it located in main street, it is very quite at night and we have good sleep there. Good hospitality. Staffs are professional and passionate; all restaurants they recommended are very good. Breakfast is nicely severed. Room is very clean. I strongly recommend you stay in this B&B and we will come back when we visit Italy next time.

My husband and I stayed in Florence for 3 nights, and the location of this B&B was absolutely the best! 10 minute walk from the train, and close to everything. It was very easy to get to, get in with lots of luggage, and everyone was very helpful. The rooms were large and clean, and the breakfast had lots of choices and options. Alessandro was great and recommended a private wine tour from Chianti Inside Out, and it was indeed one of the highlights of our trip. Florence was beautiful, and we will definitely go back ... and when we do, we will stay here again.

Location (once we actually found the hotel) was excellent. Staff was very helpful and breakfast was good, though a bit later than it was supposed to be. The one drawback was the cleanliness, or lack thereof. We are rather picky about that, but it made it harder to relax in a room that had stains on the bedspread and bathroom floors that weren't clean. If they can get that problem corrected, they will have a perfect set-up for travelers who want to be close to the sights of Florence.

We stayed in the room "Oduardo Borrani" and a my mother in law stayed in the room "Salvatore Lega". The rooms are definitely very big and spacious and as shown on the website. The location is unbeatable for the price, easy to find right next to the Gucci on Via Roma. The only thing that could be improved upon is that the cleaning lady needs to do a better, more thorough job as there are many nooks and crannies that are untouched and quite dirty (i.e. the toothbrush cup which had a layer of mold and dirt inside). It would also be nice if they didn't lock up the kitchen so that people who decide to bring some food home to eat can have access to some cutlery. All in all, a wonderful stay in Florence.

We stayed at Il Salotto for 3 nights and Alessandro was very helpful and friendly and welcomed us with a much needed cup of tea. It was reassuring to have someone at the reception who had a good grasp of English and was able to answer a lot of our queries. Very convenient location. Our only suggestion would be to provide fresh or tinned fruit at breakfast. We brought our own.

Bed & Breakfast ottimo. Assolutamente consigliato.

Il Salotto di Firenze was awesome. It is well located. We were able to walk to the Duomo in 1 minute, Accedemia Museum (David Statue)in about 7 minutes, Train station 7 minutes, Well lets just say all the attractions were under a 15 minutes walk away. The room was the biggest of the 3 rooms we stayed at while in Italy. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend. It is priced well, very comfortable and clean, the staff is very friendly, great location, nice breakfast.... what more can you ask for!! I would recommend taking The best of Tuscany tour. It is a day trip to Sienna, San Grig., and Pisa. You eat lunch on a Tuscan farm with the most beautiful views of the countryside...and you can't pass up the photo op with the leaning tower of Pisa. Also, for great view of Florence take bus 21 ($1 EU) or walk to piazza Michelangelo at dusk. It is a huge hill with a great view of the entire city..and its free! Even if your not a huge art buff, you must see the statue of David it was a "Wow" moment! Me an my fiance visited in mid march, it is less populated and the weather was nice...Chilly, but not too much! one other thing, we actually found a Mexican food restaurant there (Tijuanas) ... i know what you are thinking...But after eating Italian for several days straight, it good to be able to throw something else in the mix. Trust me, you will soon find out and be looking for it.

All I have to say is "wow". I encourage absolutely anyone and everyone to try and get a room here if you are staying in Florence. My wife and I stayed in B&Bs of comparable price range throughout our two and a half weeks in Italy, and this B&B was head and shoulders above the (also highly rated) rest. For the price, you will not find better! I wish we would have stayed longer. Although we loved it, we have a couple suggestions to make the B&B even better (I'm guessing the owner, Alessandro, checks user reviews): 1) Provide access to pots, pans, and dishes after reception closes; my wife and I would have cooked more in your impressive kitchen. 2) The toilet could use some minor adjustments to make it flush the first time you pull the lever. Ok, so I guess that is it! Thanks Alessandro for a great stay!

Considering all things, this was my favorite stay during a recent 3 week vacation in various cities in Italy. Traveling as a single woman alone, I felt very safe at this hotel, and stayed a week here. The room (Diego Martelli) was spacious and clean. I also liked that it was a small property (6 rooms), and felt almost family-like. Because of it's size, may not work well for families with children. Most impressive was the management skills of Alessandro Mignolli, the manager of this hotel. He was approachable, accessable, and very helpful - and I had a LOT of questions!. The hotel was in a key location, near shopping and the Duomo. Drawbacks? Since it is a prime location in a busy area, it is a bit noisy. Even rooms off the main street tend to be noisy in the evenings, but earplugs worked well. Also, if you are on a budget, I found Leonardo's Self Service Cafeteria (on Via Pecori 5, right around the corner) to be a great value. Had several meals there, good, fresh, basic food for less than 10 euros/meal, and the people-watching is great! I cannot wait to return to Italy and stay again at Il Salotto di Firenze!

This hotel was cheap and extremely beautiful compared to other places we payed a lot more for. The rooms were gorgeously decorated (traditional Tuscan wall effect) and very clean, not to mention the large clean bathroom! Alessandro, our host was very welcoming even though we arrived late and rather wet from the rain. We did have a bit of drama locating No 6 in the pouring rain with luggage at night and on foot, so it may be a good idea to advise clients exactly where the entrance is. The location was fantastic! Right in the middle of everything and not a problem with noise at night time either. All in all, we loved our stay in Florence and out of 10 other accommodations in Italy during our trip, this was by far the best.

This place is a treasure! Alessandro is living proof that Florence's genius doesn't only exist in the past. His hospitality is unmatched! From the moment we arrived we were welcome, we were treated like friends and family, oriented, advised, & offered a refreshment. Every detail was in place. Immaculately clean. The furnishings, bathroom fixtures, lighting, environmental technologies, local magazine and books in the room, books and guides in the breakfast room available to borrow, use of the internet, great conversations, Alessandro's colleague Marco terrific with his advice and great conversations, & location, location, location. There was so much offered, it was such a pleasure and very sad to leave behind.

It's the type of place you don't want to tell people about as you prefer to keep it to yourself, but hey, that's selfish. This place is simply superb. Fantastic location, wonderful spacious room and great staff. I've paid twice as much for an inferior room in a different hotel. This place is very, very special. Simply a must for your stay in Florence.

Absolutamente maravilloso.

Excellent service, excellent location, excellent room! Alessandro was superb with his english and his hospitality was outstanding. The rooms were decorated with taste and with a lot of care. Nothing was spared to make this B&B the closest to a 5* hotel room. The location - right next to the famous duomo and centre of Florence. Short walking distance to everything. Gorgeous, ancient style wooden doors decorate the entrance. We rode up the lift to the 2nd floor and were greated by Alessandro who was more than welcoming despite our late arrival. The room was a welcome delight after our miserable stay in Rome (3 Coins Trevi Fountain). The room was fragranced with lavendar and decorated very tastefully and I loved what they did with the walls to give this 3D splashing effect. Alessandro's partner was sloppy and not as astute as the young, passionate business man. Make sure not to arrive on a Sunday / Monday when mot galleries / museums in Florence is closed!

The owner Alessandro is extremely helpful and knowlegeble with regard to tourist information. He even helped us to download our photos and to inform our Rome B&B of our arrival time. The Trattorial which he recommended is excellent too. Try it! The room we occupied is spacious although kind of noisy as it face the main traffic. But it cause no disturbance to our sleep. We suggest to include information on how to locate the establishment, i.e it is just above Gucci shop round the corner from Duomo, as we had hard time finding the No. 6 unit. Like to add that the hot croissont and freshly brewed cuppucinno perks up our morning. Of all the Italy B&Bs and hotels which we stayed for our trip, we enjoyed Il Salotto di Firenze the most. Location is wonderful too, imagine Duomo is just at your doorstep. Room is extremely clearn and brand new, as we understand that the establishment is only 8 months old. Strongly recommended. Nowhere beats Il Salloto!

An absolute gem of a place, my advice would be to stop looking and book here now, you will not find anything nearly as good for the price. Amazing location, an easy 10 minute walk from the station and literally on the corner of the Piazza del Duomo. Surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops and central for all sites which are at most a 15 minute walk. The facilities are fantastic, beautifully decorated with everything you would expect from a 4 star - air-con, satellite lcd tv, mini-bar (cheap!), etc. A special mention for the owner Alessandro, I've never had a welcome or been so well treated on any previous stay anywhere and he was a huge help to us when we left our passports in our previous accommodation, translating for us and arranging delivery of them to our next hotel. If I stay in Florence again I won't bother looking anywhere else.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Salotto di Firenze. I would have no hesitations recommending it to anyone visiting Florence. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to accomodate us in any way possible. Will definitely stay there again!

This is by far the best B&B I have stayed in. In fact its much more than that. It is all that you can expect in one and truly well priced. Allesandro was a great host. Very helpful and gave some very good recommendations. He went out of his way to make bookings etc for us.

We stayed in several expensive hotels and B&Bs throughout Italy and Paris, but this was by far the best value for money. The room was gorgeous, clean and spacious and the staff were the friendliest people we met on the whole trip. The location was amazing also! I would love to return to this B&B.

Ok,i will try to keep this short! I want to begin my saying Thank you to the owner and host of Il Salotto di Firenze,Alessandro. He was the nicest person in all of Italy, that we met. He greeted us very warmly and immediately offered us something to drink. He was very helpful as we asked him about places to see,eat and as we are a young married couple we wanted to know where the nightlife is in Florence and he pointed out some great spots. We also were very interested in going to Chianti for the day and taking a wine tour. We asked him if he knew anything about it and he was more then helpful he went and looked up some information and presented us with various Wine Tour selections to choose from. We told him which one we liked and he took care of the booking and talked to them asked them for specifications we had and totally just made our trip very easy. Which was just very much needed. And the wine Tour was amazing. Now about the B & B itself...we loved it! It was so comfortable and just very well decorated and you can tell that every little detail was very well thought of. It was very clean too. The breakfast was very good and very well presented in a very charming breakfast & common room. The location was very nice. The building was next to the Duomo and you know its a beautiful location when your surrounded by Gucci, Tiffany & co. and other beautiful stores. We visited other cities in Italy as well as France and Spain but we had the best time in Florence and mostly had to do with what a pleasant time we had and this B & B and how helpful and nice Alessandro is!We definately and most highly recommend this B & B.The price for what you get is also excellent. Charming place, great service, clean and comfortable...what else can you ask for?!?!

My wife and I arrived seperately and got the same great treatment from Alisandro (sorry if I spelled your name wrong). He was kind and welcoming and immediately offered us a cool drink , which was much appreciated after our long, and hot journey. The location of the B & B, the rooms (they are even better than the pictures suggest)and the service were all fantastic. I would not just recommend Il Salotto di Firenze, but insist on others staying there.

We came by car, and had some difficulties to find the B&B, because there is no signs. But the recepcionist rang us, and met us. It is actually forbidden to drive and park in ths streets around. So its only for a short stop to load and unload. We were recommended a parking company only 5 min to walk, and they came with the car whenever you need your car. It costs Euro 40 pr night, but its safe. Good restaurant nearby, La Grotta. We had a really nice stay, and I will really recommend this B&B.

Our first time in Florence was memorable in part by our stay at Il Salotto. Staff (Alessandro & Guido) was just great in providing us excellent service, referrals to some local spots were certainly credible, Overall, it is a VERY NICE B&B right in the heart of a beautiful city. Working with Alessandro for a surprise wedding anniversary ceremony is greatly appreciated. Highly recommended place to stay!!!*****

This is the best kept secret in Florence! Il Salotto di Firenze is on Via Roma just steps away from the Baptistry and Duomo in a completely renovated building. An absolutely fabulous location! You get a key card to the secured building and the B&B. There is an elevator or stairs. The B&B itself is only a few months old and has amazing finishes and details. I'm an interior designer and I wish I could find someone in the USA to apply the same finish to client's walls that the "Salotto" walls are finished in. New hardwood floors throughout, high ceilings, tasteful furniture and bathrooms and a magnificent Murano glass chandelier in an eggplant color in the breakfast room. FREE internet access in ALL rooms and flat screen TVs! Alessandro is the young, bi-lingual entreprenurial owner who is on the premises from 7AM to 7PM most days of the week. He does everything he can to make you welcome and make your stay in Florence a great one. Besides that he is interesting, intelligent and knowledgeable and just SO nice. It is a little noisy on the street but this is a big city and it's just as noisy at the four star hotel one block away. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone. In fact, I was scheduled to stay three separate times in Florence for a couple of days each over the course of a month in three different places but cancelled the other two to stay at "my home away from home" which is just how I came to feel about Il Salotto and Allesandro.

We really enjoyed the central location. We could reach most locations within 5-10 minute walk. The room and bathroom was more than adequate. Noise only became a factor because of some rowdy and boisterous young folks walking outside at night. Our host was very friendly, helpful and personable. We would definitely stay there again.
