Great place to stay, within walking distance of the city and of leith harbour, where there are some lovely restaurants. we would recommend both the Granary, The ship & the shore. the breakfast was faboulous great choice's on the menu.

My adult daughters and I stayed in an upstairs room for 3 at the Sandaig guest house. It was perfect for us - a bit cramped at times with 3 females and all of our stuff but the bathroom was large (with the exception of the shower stall, it was small). The room itself was lovely. We arrived late, but getting in to the house was easily arranged ahead of time. It is very easy to catch the bus from Sandaig into the main tourist areas of Edinburgh plus an easy walk to the shore area of Leith where we had dinner one night. All in all a very nice place to stay, I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
Room Details
Sandaig Guest House has 9 guest rooms, all with iPod docking stations and welcome amenities. Guests can kick back at the end of a busy day and enjoy high-definition televisions with digital channels and DVD players. Rooms also offer CD players for your entertainment pleasure. Business travelers visiting the Leith area will have access to free wireless high-speed Internet access as well as desks and safes.
Private bathrooms are outfitted with hair dryers. Trouser presses, irons/ironing boards and coffee/tea makers can be found in each room to accommodate basic traveling needs. Additional guest comforts include climate control and clock radios.

Join the Edinburgh City Bypass – heading for Edinburgh East, Leith and the
A1 for Berwick upon Tweed
At the end of the City Bypass turn left, joining the A1 heading for Edinburgh
Follow the signs for Leith as per A1 directions above.
From M8 (West and Glasgow)
At Newbridge roundabout follow signs for airport and city centre, pass airport and head towards The Gyle roundabout and take exit off for Leith, avoiding city centre.
