Very welcomming atmosphere indeed. Provided facilities in your room: TV, radio alarmclock, tea cooking facilities (with a biscuit), hairdryer in top drawer of bedside cabinet, in bathroom liquid soap for your hands, daily room cleaning and towel change (three towels per day), comforable rooms, quite small single rooms but o.k. as a place just for the night and being on one´s own at a quite place, no table in room; breakfast: English/Scottish breakfast, selection of cereals with some fruits, fruit juice (orange and apple), oat cakes, jam, yoghurt, choice between coffee and tea and between white toast and brown toast. flexible check-in time from 12 p.m. Flexibility when paying the bill by evening before departure at the latest.

We had a fine stay at The International Guesthouse. It is a cosy B&B run by a pleasant and very helpful couple in a very quiet neighborhood with a splendid view at Arthur´s Seat. The area it self isn´t that inspiring, but fortunately there are plenty of frequent and cheap bus lines that takes you to town in 10 min. just next to the hotel. All in all good value for the money.

Stayed in a single and twin room. Their singles are a bit small but cozy enough for my use, while their twin rooms were huge. There was a double and a single bed for my use! There was hot water all the time though the fan in the toilet is a bit noisy. However, there was cable TV and free internet available so one can't be too picky. Karen and her husband are excellent hosts. They give you a key so you can come and go as you please. I think the only downside is that since it's a private B&B, they're harder to reach if you have any issues in late evening. Aside from that, they serve an excellent Scottish breakfast (eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, tomatoes with free coffee/tea) in the morning. The place is around 10 minutes from city centre and the surroundings can be darker in the evening. However, Edinburgh is a safe place and it's a mere straight bus ride from the Royal Mile where you'd usually hang out anyway. From the airport, it's two bus rides, but should take you 30-45 mins, tops. Overall, an enjoyable stay. I would recommend it strongly to everyone I know who wants value for money and I would love to use this place again in the future!

The hotel itself (location, room, public areas, price, etc.) was fine, nice really. But the woman running it was not very accomodating or flexible. I needed to cancel my 2nd night and I emailed asking to do so more than 48 hours in advance (I know you ask for 72, but I emailed as soon as I found out) and she refused to work with me on that matter at all, so I ended up paying for 2 nights and only using 1. I suggest ammending that policy, 48 hours should be enough time. I also would have been more than happy just to pay half of the second night or something to that affect, but she wouldn't budge at all. I would not reccommend this hotel to anyone based on just that experience. Thank you.

This is a friendly little guest house. I have found the staff being helpful even before the stay (had some questions about transport that were promptly answered via email). For someone on a budget this is a very good choice - one of cheaper places in town, not far from centre, tidy rooms and very pretty surroundings. Bus stop with a lot of available buses is very close, a shopping centre is several minutes walk. Of course this is not a 5 star hotel, but for a small, cheaper place they are doing good.

Nobody comes with us to see the room. The room was underground and too cluttered .The room was not beautiful .For the breakfast it has been impossible to be at the same table with my daughter and my wife . I have never seen such rigidity from staff in any other place in my life ...!
