Excellent location for walking to dublin sites. professional, helpful staff. generous breakfast. instant hot h20 for shower. interesting, international guests. when i booked the room i didn't realize it would be only as big as the single bed therein and have a bathroom less that 3 feet wide. because i only needed a place to sleep it wasn't a bad experience in that respect but comparitively speaking, i stayed in several other properties during 2 weeks that were better accomodations and less expensive. i would return only for the great location but w/out expectations for what kilronan calls an "economy room." con: the toilet did not flush very well.

Based on the previous reviews of this place I expected a lot better. While the staff was wonderful, the question of "Do you mind stairs" when first checking in should have been an indication. This place needs a massive update. Our room was on the 3rd floor with no lift (60 steps), my husband counted. The bed was two twins, pushed together, which was ok, except they were uncomfortable with springs sticking in our backs. The toilet seat lid was off when we arrived but I was able to put it back on. The shower collected water at the bottom and there was no space for toiletries. The sink faucet would start and stop of it's own accord. The carpet in our room looked about 30 yrs old and the ones in the hall in the main building were stained. This was very much below what I was expecting. The location is about 2 blocks from St. Stephen's Green which was great except when you add 3 flights of stairs to your room after walking. As I said before though, the staff were excellent and the breakfast was ok, but not enough to make up for the rooms. Next time I'm in Dublin I will stay in a more modern hotel for a very small difference in price.

Very cosy room, great value for the price ! The breakfast is delicious and plentyful, the location just far enough from the action to ensure a quiet environment, but close enough to walk everywhere.

Older hotel/guest house and did not expect a lot of "spaciousness" for the type of room I requested as noted on your questionnaire above... It was extremely quiet if I shut the window, but because of no air, there was noise from the street when opening window (thus my lower rating on noise in your questionnaire). I would give this property a 10 across the board. Better hospitality than a 5 star hotel! Loved staying there with all it's character and the incredibly wonderful staff.

----------------------------------------------- We stayed 4 nights in a double room in the Guest House Kilronan. Our room was clean, and had coffee, tee, water,…and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is near of the principal shopping streets, museums and emblematic buildings. The breakfast had different menus to choose and it was tasty. The staff of the hotel is very kind, they left us to print the tickets of the plane, they helped us doing touristic routes, etc. They gave us a map of the city and had free internet. It is recommendable 100 %.

Staff very friendly, location great, breakfast excellent, room too cold (early Feb.), found glass wall instead of window very claustrophobic, bit prison-like. Don't know if all rooms are the same. Would definitely stay again but not in room with glass wall. Most of guests seemed foreign, mixed ages, all seemed happy with everything.
