Our stay in the hotel was really nice. Spacious room, staff helpful, very nice location - 20 min walk to O`Connell St. My only comment for improvement is the wireless internet, it is really difficult to connect and the signal fails every 5 minutes.

Good value for money and the cost of breakfast seemed comparable to that offered by other establishments, although my friend and I chose not to have the hotel breakfast, as the times were a little early for us. Therefore, I cannot comment as to the quality. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were also very disappointed not to have tea & coffee making facilities in the room although this may have been because a vending machine had been provided. Unfortunately, the tea from the vending machine was not very good. It looked like frothy coffee but tasted like neither coffee nor tea. We found no lifts at this hotel, so people who like/need these, please be warned. About 15-20 minutes’ easy walk into the centre of town but if preferring not to walk, the buses are fairly frequent and good value. Our room was smaller than the picture on the internet suggested but the décor was just the same. Also located within about 25 minutes from the airport. The regular buses are far cheaper than the shuttle buses and one ticket is valid for 90 minutes’ use. The journey to Charleville Lodge cost just €2.50. Overall, this was a good base for us and we would definitely consider staying here again.

Getting to downtown (O'Connel) is much quicker via Berkley Street (cross Dorset and go on to Frederick) than the long way around of main streets, making it a 20-minute journey. Sweet cafe on the corner of Parnell/Frederick for the wet and hungry, and its next to the Writers Museum and Garden of Rememberance.

Good quality for this price. If you don't looking for 4 stars hotel this one is good choice. Nothing spectacular but clean with very helpful staff and good atmosphere. Recomend it for young people (quiet and much clean than hostels). Good city location, just minutes to walk to town center.

Cheap, clean, and conveniently located - abt 10 min by bus from the center of Dublin, bus stop - another side of the street. Good parking. For Russian travelers - reception lady is the native Russian. Just one minus - the perpendicular staircase on the entrance - not easy when you have big luggage.

Neat little place to crash for a few days, at a resonable price. The rooms are not new, but they are kept very clean and maintained. The rooms in the back are quiet, albeit the rooms close to the reception are a bit noisy. The staff was helpful and nice. Walking distance is about 25-30 minutes from the city centre, but there are bus stops outside that get you there in under 10 minutes. Overall, great value for money.

We reserved 2 rooms: a triple which faced the front street was very noisy and small. The second room was a double and faced the back. It was more quiet. I would not book the triple room again as with the window closed the street noise was still very loud. Breakfast was good and convenient. Front desk guy gave us incorrect info about the bus route and where to catch it. Not too bad to walk downtown: 20-30 minutes.

I had a really nice time in Dublin and this B&B was a fantastic place to stay. It's not located in the city centre, but there's a bus stop just in front of the B&B and you can be in town in 15m. Nice staff, clean, quiet and great value for money. Me lo pasé fenomenal en Dublín y fue una decisión acertada alojarme en este B&B. Limpio, el personal muy amable, sin ruido... Hay que tomar un bus para ir al centro, pero sólo se tarda 15m. Además nada caro. ¡PERFECTO!

Considering the price of the hotel - it's great value for money. We enjoyed the stay a lot, the staff very helpful and friendly. The only drawback I can think of was the shower - difficult to regulate. I'd definitely come back :)

Excellent place, we really loved it. the area was "ok" but we even walked to downtown (which took about 20 mins); but there is also a bus stop righ in front of teh lodge. we had breakfast and it was plenty. we just did not care too much about the Irish breakfast foods (-: but had to try it.

Location is ok for getting into the centre by bus, walking is a bit far (at least 30 mts., i f not more!) . Free parking is a great help. Bus fare into center is just 1.15 Euro. The breakfast continental is ok for 5 Euro(rather scarce), the full irish is better (but 9 Euros). Rooms are smallish but very clean, TV is not really sufficient as to number of offered programs. Water could be warmer. The rooms to the back are indeed very quite, thanks for the advice on that. Coffe and tea are free during the morning and there is free internet access. The location is very typical of Dublin. We liked it very much.

The listing claims to be a five minute walk from the center of Dublin. This is not the case. Beside that this was a great value.

This was our first trip to Dublin and to Ireland. We stayed at the Charleville Lodge on the night of our arrival and for three nights before our departure. We found the Charleville Lodge to be very accessible, walking to the Lodge upon our arrival with our luggage from Heuston Station which we reached by express bus from the airport and "taxi-ing" (at a reasonable cost - 20 Euros) to the airport to catch an early morning flight upon our departure. We found the Lodge to be affordable and clean with a welcoming staff. We stayed in both a front and back room and found the back room to be quieter. The delicious and hearty breakfasts were served in an attractive dining room by pleasant staff. Although the Lodge is a bit off the beaten path, we were able to walk to the centre of Dublin and the tourist centre within 20 to 25 minutes. I would definitely recommend the Charleville Lodge to anyone travelling to Dublin on a budget.

We were very happy with our three day stay in the Charleville Lodge as it was affordable, clean and, on the back side in particular (we had both a front and a back room), very quiet. The staff were friendly, competent and more than willing to answer any questions that we had. The breakfasts were good and hearty. Although it is a bit out of the way, it is within easy walking distance of central Dublin and the main tourist attractions. Actually, if you are not loaded down with luggage and are in relatively good shape, it is also within walking distance of Heuston Station. I would definitely recommend this accomodation to anyone looking for clean, quiet and affordable lodging in Dublin.

I stayed with my Mom two times at the Charleville Lodge and both stays were excellent. Their service was fantastic and they went above and beyond to give us a very early breakfast before we left for the airport. It's a little out-of-the-way but the nice rooms, free internet, and service makes it worth the extra bus ride to get there. I'll stay there again on my next visit to Dublin.

A nice establishment, located in the northern part of Dublin. Walk to center lasts about 45 minutes. Three bus lines provides services to city center and back. Line 10 station to downtown is opposite the hotel and the return station is 20 meters before the hotel. Bus lines 121 and 122 are located about a 3 minutes walk. The hotel also provides free parking for cars. Staff very friendly and helpfull.

Great B&B, but the location was not walkable to centre of the city, although the website information indicated this was possible. However the city centre was only one bus away and transportation was good.

It is the perfect deal for a good hotel with a very good traditional Irish breakfast and everything at a good price! It is not too far from the city centre and you can get there in ten minutes by bus and if you go out, you can even walk there, it should take around 25 - 30 minutes. If you're not brave, take a cab, it is 8 euros by night, pretty good. I would advise you to go there without any hesitation!

Standard price is too high compared with the quality of accommodation, Venere's price is just fine. Location-wise, it's not so far from the city centre, if you're a good walker.

We were in room nr 10, this is a very small room, and you can hear any noise at the reception! so also the telephone early in the morning, or the bell at the front door in the middle of the night... That was the only negative, the rest was very good!!

This guest house is a little out of the center of the city, but within fairly easy walking distance or a short bus ride of the center. Since we had fairly good weather for our stay, we never needed to take the bus. If you appreciate a quiet night's sleep, the location in a residential neighborhood is a definite plus. The breakfasts are extraordinary -- enough food for the entire day, really, although if you don't feel like that much you can just order eggs or cereal.

This is a gem of a hotel just outside of Dublin. It's only a little more expensive than a hostel and probably 10 times as nice. Honestly, you can't beat this place! The receptionists are the nicest people on the continent and possibly the most helpful. And with free internet access, 24-hour tea, and free breakfast, where else would you stay when visiting Dublin?
