Situated north of the Liffey River and just a few steps away from Connolly Station, Dublin's major train station, the Abbott Lodge Guest House is right in the heart of Dublin City Centre. This inexpensive Victorian guest house is just over the river from Temple Bar, Dublin's vibrant night-life district, as well as the city centre's many restaurants, theatres and shops.

The Abbot Lodge Guest House is the ideal place for a low-cost Dublin city break. Not only will you be treated to a hearty full Irish cooked breakfast every morning, but you will also have a great time chatting with the guest house's cheery staff.

If you need anything, then you can always ask someone at the front desk, open 24 hours a day. Although they are full of useful information, if they cannot help you, then you will be directed to one of the city's tourist information points. There is also a public phone box on the property as well. Parking is off-site and reservations are required.

Humidity in the room. Lamps not working correctly. Lack of room service. Breakfast not as good as expected. Noise during the night due to the rest of the people in adjacent rooms. Staff just being cordial, not very sympathetic.

Good hotel for this price. Beds are good and the hotel is very quiet. You can eat a typical Irish breakfast but when you don't want this you only can choose between marmelade and cerials.

First time on Abbott Lodge travelling with a couple of friends. The evening staff was ok friendly. We complained about the TV on the room which was out of order. The hotel was not able to find another one or fix it. I find that the advertising promised a whole lot more, than the hotel was able to keep up with. Dissapointing.

The hotel is a good solution to visit Dublin. The prices are very convenient. The hotel location is very good since it is near to Connelly Station and at walking distance from the most interesting places of Dublin. Breakfast is very rich and tasty. Some drawbacks: the room and the bed were very small, floor creaked a little. However, considering the price, I recommend Abbott Lodge to all people who want to visit Dublin.

Abbott Lodge is situated in an excellent location close to downtown. The structure is very nice and clean, suitable for both students (affordable prices) and families.

We were near the entrance and there was a fair amount of to and fro in the night, probably some poeple heading to the airport. The room was big and spacious and completely adequate for our purposes. I would stay here again.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, and remembered us on our return flight. (The night staff a little less so.) I'm happy to recommend Abbott Lodge, especially to slightly older adults.

Very nice staff but very poor B&B compared with those around Ireland but out of Dublin. A 4 storey hostel with no lift... heavy baggage and in our 40s... However I would return because of the good location.

Our window couldn`t be closed so the room was cold and noisy (from the street). The room was very dusty. The breakfast was okay but service rather slow. The lodge was near to the city and the connection from the airport good but TO the airport we had to take a taxi.

The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure we had a good stay. I would recommend the guest house and would stay here again.

How to reach Abbott Lodge

By airplane
From Dublin International Airport: take the Airlink bus to the Dublin City Centre, which leaves every 10 minutes during the week and every 20 minutes on Sundays. Alternatively, there is a regular double-decker Dublin Bus service (No 41) to the city centre, which is cheaper than the Airlink service, but runs less regularly and tends to take longer.
