1A Apartment Pension & Gästehaus - Berlin
Milastr. 6 - Berlin
877-662-6988Our new pension rooms with qualitatively elevated and tasteful equipment bribe through their generosity and personality in a quiet inner city location in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg, close to the Alexander Platz. We are directly at the Schönhauser Allee, right at the subway station Eberswalderstraße (U2).
The size of the room was bigger than it looked from the photos which was a nice surprise. Nicely furnished rooms and very clean. Perfectly situated in the best part ...

This is the 3rd time in as many years I've been to Berlin for a short break (although this time I combined it with a week in Northern Bavaria) and this is the 3rd time I've stayed at 1A Apartments. I've had a different room each time, the 1st room being the best as it had a large bathroom. I love the location for reasons I dont' want to go into on here, the rooms are basic but comfortable although now maybe in need of a coat of paint. Only down side I would say is the small bathroom, and the fact that no toiletries (hand washing soap, shower gel) are provided. I plan to return to Berlin again next year and will definitely stay at 1A Apartments.

This is the second time I've stayed here, so must be good! Only bad point about this stay was the size of bathroom; it was rather small, the worst feature being a glass shelf above the small washbasin which meant you had to bend down while brushing teeth (in fact I ended up brushing my teeth over the toilet bowl). Last year I had a very large bathroom as well as large bedroom. But aside from that I would not hesitate to recommend this place. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay at 1A Apartments very much. The rooms were clean and quiet and the staff were very helpful. The location of the apartments is particularly good - they are close to both U and S Bahn lines, and we were surprised how quickly we could get from our room to various parts of the city. We managed to get to Tegel airport in well under 30 mins. We will certainly stay at 1A Apartments next time we visit Berlin.

Not too far from the nice part of Prenzlauer Berg, supermarket around the corner, spacious room, small bathroom without any amenities except small towels. Well served by public transportion.

Accommodation consisted of entrance lobby, large-ish sinlge bedroom, large bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. Only negatives are no soap/shower gel provided; shower fitted over a bath which I found to be quite slippery (would advise guests to bring a non-slip bath mat. Great location, plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants nearby. Also close to U-Bahn station

We did arrived at the "hotel" and find the door closed. A button-signs ask us to press button and then we could communicate with the manager in a sorts of phone. He asked us to press a number on the kayboard to open the door. Then we could go inside and wait for him. We did that and stayed in a sort of entrèe an waited a few miniutes for him. Then we could pay for teh room and he showed us the room and informed us about the regulations. The room was to be cleaned and the bed had to be maked every day at 11 o'clock. And we like to say the room-maids did a very good job with that. The room was OK. It was big enough and had to beds and a couch we used as the third bed (we was three persons in the room). But the bathroom was miserable. All to small with a sink so small you could nearly enough get your hands in it. Washing your face was an operation which ot you a lot of trouble. And the lavatore forced you to sit in a rigid postion who was not comfortable. Therefore my rating 4 for spasiusness and 2 about quality vs price.

The staff that greeted us was helpful but not very accessible after we checked in. The area around the apartment was questionable at times. The room was spacious but the bathroom was painfully small. The sink was not even a normal size but all that would fit in the space. The apartment was very noisy into the night because someone was having a party in another apartment. The subway stop was around the corner, very close. There was a laundrymat around the corner also. The coffee machine in the reception area was great also.

Excellent place to stay in Berlin. It is off the beaten track; however, there are two train stations near by, one is a 5 minute walk, the other about a 10 minute walk. Everything was as advertised. There is a small grocery store across the street on the corner and lots of cafes and other places to eat eat very near.

Cigarette smoking in the small confined lobby area tended to be a bit overwhelming. Making the lobby a non-smoking public area would make this hotel top-notch.

It had character, it felt more like a bed and breakfast than a htel but had all the convenience of privacy and letting us go in and out as we pleased. There was a fridge, a table and a breakfast area, comfortable bed and really spacious rooms. The hotel is in the gay district, which means that even if it is in the former east, the area is lively, with restaurants and a grocery store around the corner. IT is close to the streetcar going to Alexander plats and next to the metro, making it very easy to connect to litteraly anywhere in the city. We really enjoyed our stay and it was by far the best quality for price ration we had had anywhere in Germany... Plus, the roooms were all non smoking!

The rooms were excellent, this is good value for money. The rooms could use a bit more of light but otherwise everything in good conditions. The area is a bit far from the main sights but it is close to bars, restaurants, the s and u bahn stations and there is a 24hr supermarket nearby.

Really a nice place in a nice area, and cheap!Lots of cosy cafees and bars nearby, next to public transport, funny shops ect. Only BUT is that one of the rooms (the kitchen room) in our flat smelled from heavy cigarette smoke. Not nice at all when you are going to sleep:-( Use the balcony! Apart from that the service was fine. We could leave our luggage until leaving in the late afternoon. Thank you! Would stay there again, if Berlin comes up!

Fantastic apartment. We stayed there for 3 nights in total. Good location, handy to u-bahn and close to the center of Berlin. We couldn't get over the size of the apartment, particulary the bathroom. Would love it as my own. Very welcoming staff, even for 1am. Very happy thank you.

You get what you pay for. I know it was cheap but I wasn't expecting a palace. Just somewhere clean and comfortable. It wasn't! The main problem was noise - you could hear people talking in other rooms so you can imagine how bad it was EVERY NIGHT people running around shouting til early hours. Then to be woken up with vacuming and drilling to repair damaged doors at 8am twice during 5 night stay was not appreciated. Room service very poor with no clean towels during stay, dirty glasses either left or taken away and not replaced. Cannot stress how bad this place was!

Io e la mia ragaza siamo stati due giorni a Berlino ci siamo trovati molto bene , il prezzo rapportato al servizio è molto competitivo, la zona è tranquilla e la fermata del tram è molto vicina ottimo!! consigliato a coppie giovani.

Would definitely recommend this place to others, and will stay there again if we come back to Berlin. We are two fifty-somethings (ex-New Yorkers) and we loved the Prenzlauer Berg neighborhood where a1 pension is located! The apartment was great, very spacious. We were surprised that they came in and made the beds everyday, not the case in other pensions we have stayed in other cities. There was a little refrigerator, so I could have my breakfast cereal with fresh milk and blackberries from the grocer around the corner. There's also a supermarket on the opposite corner. Our favorite meal in Berlin was at Gugelfhof near Kathe Kollwitz platz, 15 min walk from a1 pension.

After London and Paris, Berlin was a refreshing change of pace and the 1A was a wonderful place to stay. It is well located in a fun and interesting neighborhood and very well connected to the U & S-bahns and trams. The staff was always warm, welcoming, and very helpful. I would recommend this location to most people. My only criticism is that could be made more clear in the reservation confirmation the procedure of contacting the staff upon arrival. Had I known ahead of time that the staff would arrive when contacted at the main entrance, I would have felt better prepared. It is a great value and very convenient.

I was in Berlin to visit an art exhibition at the Gemaldegalerie. I was in a double room. I find very good the location in "1A Apartment and Pension". That is a good adress to stay some days in Berlin and to go around in the city.

We found that 1A Apartment was run be extremely nice and helpful people. The rooms and bathrooms were incredible clean and very spacious. Its location was brilliant with loads of new shops (H&M) and vintage (Shoes) within walking distance and great pubs and night clubs 1 stop away on the U2. The only negative - if you can call it that - is that the photographs of the 1A Apartments do not do it justice!!! Thanks for a brilliant stay!

My husband and I took a three week tour of five countries in Europe. We found this place to be one of the best that we stayed at! Olaf was very effecient and helpful. The room was in a great location-next to a U-Bahn and S-Bahn station, as well as close to many shops, food and drink places. It was super and I would recommend it to anyone!

Unfortunately there was no kitchenette and frig as indicated on internet. Intendant provided us very quickly with a frig. Having kitchenette and frig would make the accommodation perfect, also regarding free-parking in the street and location near U-bahn.
