My main gripe about this place is the lack of a 24hr reception. You have to text them to let them know when your flight lands. So they know to be there. Once there, you get in a really old rickety lift but it was quirky and so I didn't mind. Then the hotel is a floor of the building and only a few rooms and they are very spacious but with a very small bath (with a shower). But come evening, I wanted an iron and the description said you could get 1 from reception. The only problem was that nobody was on reception. So i waited for 5minutes and then called the number (costing me a lot obviously) and the phone was answered by somebody who was out who said I could have 1 in the morning between 10am and 2pm - when someone is on reception. So I had unironed clothes that evening which I was not impressed about! You could hear a litre traffic at night, but that is part and parcel of being so close to the city centre. The spaciousness of the room made up for it though and so I cannot complain

Absolutely terrible... Can't imagine worst. The location is the only thing positive to say about this place. This place is so noisy. First you got all the street noise from intense traffic but the best is coming from the subway running underneath the building... Like an earthquake each time (and the hotel is at 2nd floor). Another source of disturbing noise is the drain system working with a pump. Enjoyable when the neighbour takes a shower at night. If the noise was the only problem...the room was not clean. I found chunks of broken glass on the ground, sorry, in my foot! Not to mention the dirt on the shower curtain. All this for the most expensive room we've had in our 21/2 weeks stay in Spain (on a total of 8 hotel rooms). All other rooms were above our expectations with decent price/quality ratio. I don't recommend this place

The room was clean ,beds bathroom etc. wers very clean BUT The hostel is on a main road and the noise from it during the night was horrendous with traffic noise ,refuse collection noise and noisy people. this went on throughout the night and we were very tired by the end of a three night stay

Well located near metro and shopping. Very welcoming reception with lots of tips and information. Room large by European standards. Kitchenette was functional. Building is somewhat noisy (plumbing) but night was quite outside.

Great value for the price. Barcelona Center Plaza is in a beautiful building with a perfect location next to Plaça Catalunya and the Rambla. A 30 min direct bus ride from the airport. It's so central that you can never get lost. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The hostel felt very safe and secure so we didn't have to worry about our belongings. Overall a great experience!

We had a great stay at Hostal Barcelona Center Plaza. It was located very close to everything so that we were able to walk everywhere. We did not want to leave and wish we could have stayed longer than 6 days. The entrance is difficult to see as it is located between two shops and our flight was late so we missed reception time but were able to make arrangements thanks to building supervisor.

Everything was really nice. The location is perfect to visit all the sights. The door of the toilett was very hard to open, but if your friend will help you from outside and pull or you push really hard, you could open it. Bring some slippers or fliplops because the floor of the room is made of stone. This is the only thing, which makes the first impression a little bit cold, but it is the easiest form to keep it cleen. The rooms will be cleened every day. You are welcomed very friendly and they show you everything and answer all your questions. The recomandation to eat paella in a restaurant at the port was not so good, because it really expensive and not good. The coffee shop right across the street is very good. Not expensive and excelent coffee and little things to eat. We enjoied our stay and would choose it again and ecommand it. We were very happy with the room and found it very useful to have a small kitchen area - this helped us cut down on the overall cost of our holiday. The staff who welcomed us on arrival could not have been more helpful and friendly. The only slight problem was the noise level from the traffic, but this wasn't a big problem. It was also in a good location and great value for money.

The hotel is right in the heart of Barcelona, and is walking distance to most of the key tourist sites in Barcelona. They do not serve breakfast, but the room has a fridge, stove, dishes and silverware. It was also spacious for an older hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the value for the money was very good. I would stay here again.

We were so nervous about our first trip to Europe, but the staff at Barcelona Center made it so reassuring for us from the moment our first email came through, 2 weeks before our trip! The taxi took us right to the front door, and we loved the Casablanca-like entrance and elevator. It was like being in a movie! When the owner offered us a choice of two HUGE rooms for 4 people, and accomodated my disabled mother's needs, plus gave us directions to anyplace in the city, we knew we chose the right place. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room included everything we needed, and compared to any other room we stayed at during our 3 week trip, this place was the greatest! There was even a balcony, view, and so close to the city center, the Met, and a huge department store, all our needs were fully met!! Thank you so much from your Hawaiian visitors. We finally made it back home and will definitely stay with you again! The price was amazing for all the space, kitchen, high ceilings, perfect decor, and adjoining kitchen with even a stove and refrigerator!! Aloha!

This was my first time in Barcelona, but if I go there again, I'll certainly chose Barcelona Center Plaza. A metro stop and a 24-hours open supermarket just in front, very good connections with the main monuments. Welcoming excellent!

We had a fantastic stay in Room No. 1 which went to the backyard and was a bit small. We did not have a balcony which was OK because I think the rooms with balcony go to the front to the noisy street. The little kitchen with fridge helped a lot to keep things cool. The bathroom was very clean. Overall a fantastic value for money. The entrance hall of the building is amazing, nearly like a castle. Typically Eixample architecture. The elevator to up to the 3rd floor is really an eye-catcher. You have to press '1' to get to the 3rd floor.

The people were very welcoming and the place was perfect. We stayed in a 4 bedroom with our 3 small children (we asked for an extra cot) and it was perfect. We bought groceries as a small market across the street for breakfast. The location was fantastic centrally located

This place exceeded my expectations. I was a bit scared at first because I had never stayed at a hostal or a guest house type of place before. When I got off the cab we had to ask the driver where the hostal was, which was right across the street. It was late at night and there are no signs until you get to the property and there is a small sign by the entrance across from where the buzzer is. But once we got in, it was great. The people who work there are so helpful. One time we asked about what to do that day and he drew on a map the bus routes using different color pens so that we would not get confused. The room was great too. It was spacious for three people with one double bed and a single. The bathroom was much bigger than what I imagined it would be with a seperate room for the toliet. The little kitchenette was perfect. All the cooking utensils were provided, including a wine opener. It was also not as noisy as we expected. The hostal is located about a block from plaza catalunya. The area is pretty much dead after 10 -11 pm, but we never felt unsafe either. Only thing that may be a problem is the metro. There is a metro stop right across the street so when the trains go through it does feel like a very very minor earth quake. But after the first morning we didn't notice it .

Las habitaciones son cutres, muy cutres. Y caras.

Very nice hotel. We are a family of four, the kids are 9 and 11, and this place suited our needs and wishes perfectly. It is really central, it is close to everything (including metro and bus station). Perfect for families that strive for urban tourism. It might be a little hard to find, however. The sign is small, and according to Spanish tradition (?) it is regarded as the 1st floor - I would say it's the third.

Wonderful Fantastic Hostel for our family!!! Went beyond my expectations! We did not pay attention at first that the accommodations were considered a "hostel" When I think of hostels I think of 20 something’s with backpacks partying all the time. This was not the case. Everyone was very respectful to others. The four days, that we where there we did not see the other guests. We would just would hear them leaving their rooms in the mornings. Family room- 1xDouble with a bunk bed. Kitchen equipped with a 2 burner stove top. Sink, small fridge all the dishes you would need. Utensils, glasses, coffee mugs, pots, frying pans, wine bottle opener (a must) Ensuite bathroom (very clean). Small table with 4 chairs. Closet, TV with cable and English speaking channels. Balcony. Heat and AC. The room was very, very clean. We did not expect it but, our room was made up for us every day and we were given fresh towels. To get to the hotel floor take the old time elevator to the 1st floor. Kids will love it! Walk out the front door and directly across the street is the metro stop-Urquinaona. Walk out the front door turn to the right and walk half a block and there is a grocery store-Open Cora. They open early and close very late 2400. Great prices. Has everything you would need. Milk, juice, eggs, bread, cereal, water (very chlorinated to drink out of faucet) They also have an ATM. Walk out the front door and turn left and walk 4 blocks and you are at La Rambla. The location was perfect to explore Barcelona. The owners are very, very friendly. If you have any questions about Barcelona they are more than happy to help. Building is getting a facelift. Scaffolding is covering building. Hope the pictures help. I highly recommend this "hostel" or in my opinion hotel for everyone!
