The room smelt awful. The bed was lumpy and the sheets had clearly seen better days. The shower stopped working entirely at one point due to lack of water pressure. Building work woke me at 6am every morning. The only good bit was checking out knowing I would never have to try sleep there again.

I was at the Hotel Manofa many years ago, and is still the same. Would need a settled, some things are poorly maintained: curtains, shower, TV, wardrobe. Hotel suitable for young people with few pretensions. Convenient location for a tourist Good value for money Staff courteous and professional

Hotel Manor a was a budget hotel offering basic but adequate amenities in the city centre. Accessibility was excellent, even during our stay the establishment was getting a freshen up makeover ready for upgrade.

I chose this property for its proximity to the train station. It was very tacky - but I had a lot of fun people watching the various characters who came and went from the hotel!!!

Ideally placed in center of city, 5 min away from cetral station. But very noisy people in there. Was waked up at 4 o'clock during the night by someone speaking loud one floor under.

Convcenient to the Dam and easy access to Centraal Station. However, not a place for mature adults or the older crowd. No elevator, steep steps and noisy until 4AM.

The room was clean, and although small, it was fine for a solo traveler. The location was great, and the some staff were very friendly, offering advice on what to do at night, etc. They let you store things before checking in, which was nice. No complaints.

It was almost impossible to sleep in the hotel (I would call it more a hostel), you could hear each person passing through the corridor and the slamming of the door and also the people on the street since it is one of the main streets in Amsterdam. The single room is tiny and the matress was not good at all. The breakfast was ok even though you have to go out of the hotel to the first restaurant on the right. The only good thing is that there is a 5 min walk to the central station.

I spent here for 2 nights with my four friends. It's location is really good. It is close to the central station and Dam Square. So it is easy for us to go to those famous sites. But we think that the facilities in rooms are not enough and it is not clean enough, too. Anyway, if you just stay for a weekend, it is still a choice for you.

Stayed at the Manofa with a friend for 4 nights, after reading some reviews I was worried; it's fair to say this hotel has some bad reviews. I am happy to report that I had an excellent stay here! It's a typical Amsterdam size building, on one of the main roads in Amsterdam, breakfast was simple but nice, the beds were comfy, the towels were changed and the room was cleaned daily. I found the reception staff to be friendly and helpful. If your looking for 5 star it's not here but the location is fantastic and the price was excellent too. I would stay there again.

The hotel was'decorating' and it was a mess all over the place... They were unfriendly, almost rude and we paid 90 euros for just a room with a bath. The shared bathroom and toilet were dirty and the breakfast was bad. The only pluspoint is the location, but if I were you I would definetely look for another Hotel!

It's the third time I've been to Amsterdam but had to book this hotel as there was nothing else available. It really was not a nice place to stay. The lobby is surprisingly modern and this gives you the impression that the room are too. Mine had 2 tiny single beds with 1 very old pillow each. The room was below a set of very creaky stairs and each morning, someone was working on the stairs bashing with a hammer. Not nice to wake up to. I wouldn't personally waste your time with the breakfast included. It's basically toast. And all we had to butter the bread was a steak knife. I also asked for an extra pillow as it was very uncomfortable, to which the staff told me they'll check - that's the last I heard of this The toilets. Shared facility (I've done this before so didn't have an issue). The men's toilets was a small toilet in a tiny freezing cold room. The back of the toilet was on the floor, meaning the water in the back of the toilet was exposed and you had to reach in to manually flush it. I think it's fair to say this hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in. Location is perfect - you cannot fault it. But that is the only thing that is good. I can't think of any thing else positive to say. This hotel needs a major overhaul and a lot of money spent on it. They should market it as a hostel, although I'm sure there's nicer hostels anyway. Rant over; over and out.

Hello, We have got a big problem with the stairs so difficult at the 3th floor withour lift and with the luggages , the child , the baby and the caddie. We can't sleep also because the mouses are fighting all the night in the wood walls , we are sleeping us and ours two little childrens 3 hours only and again the room is really dirty, old and destroy ,graffitis , holes of mouses... More the window don't close so we have also a big problem with the cold and the wind ( in this season ) and the big noise all nignt in the hotel and in the street with the junkies. We must leave this hotel after one night because we can't sleeping at all the four persons , we have got receipts of the two hotels and a lot of photos and one video to prove that, this hotel is very impossible and more with little childs , it's a shame , we never see that before in many countries !!!

You get what you pay for. Terrific value in absolutely central position. 150-200 metres from Centraal Station. Very noisy all night with mostly backpackers/young partgoers comings and goings. (try to avoid rooms near stairways or main doorways/airlocks). Otherwise, we only needed room to sleep in and room was clean, large enough and comfortable. Breakfasts in restaurant next door at street level - good breakfast included in room price. Best Feature: Excellent value for money Worst Feature: Very Noisy

We will not be going back to stay in this "hotel". The standard was very poor with rooms in a very run-down condition. The shower head had no holder, the towels were threadbare (with added holes free of charge)and doors and windows didn't close properly... Need I go on? On the plus side - pleasant staff and very centrally located.

The room offered was very poor. We viewed other rooms & decided to stay where we were as they were not much better. Room consisted of two single beds with sponge matressess. Not much room to move around. bathroom cleanish, but flooded after using the shower. Toilet flush was workable if you pushed your finger in the hole where the button should have been. looked under the bed on final day & wished I hadn't there must have been about 15mm of dust Value for money - No way.

We were a large adult male group and had stayed in Amsterdam before so we knew what to expect with 1* hotel accommodation, in that respect Manofa was OK, just! but if you are a couple or family holidaying in the city you will want and expect a lot more for you money. The €55pppn rate is steep for what you get, a dingy, very tired bedroom, dodgy staircase and handrail, poor shower, no lift, & breakfast is not Hilton standard by any stretch, but it's OK for a short weekend break. Half of Amsterdam central area buildings are pre-war, look and feel dingy & trashy and need a massive investment and refresh (at least internally) and Manofa need to spend some big money to get anywhere close to a 2* rating they want. Warning - Health & Safety is poor, in particular Manofa bedrooms with balcony's are definitely not suitable for young children, or unsteady adults for that matter either! - However, the Manofa Inn location is great and you don't spend your holiday in the hotel anyway, you're there to visit the city which is overall quite stunning. The hotel has easy access to all the attractions and central station for Trams to anywhere in the city, and therefore our holiday weekend was always going to be great for a group of 'lads on Tour'.

Hello, I booked triple room based in Manofa Inn based on the price and the proximity of the inn to the city center. My surptise was that the room was a doble one with an added bed. The room was dirty with clear signs of moisture. I have attached pictures I did before I left. We had to ask the personnel to change the sheets. The wardrobe was dirty and only one hanger was available. The personnel was very unpolite. In my eyes the prize is too high for what the hotel is (to me it is a scam). Its only advantage is the proximity of the hotel to the city center.

And the third room was the cleanest but in every room were on the bedclothes spots which don't look very nice and clean. Finally the breakfast was very expensive and very simple because you paied 7,00 € and you got only toast with cheese, eggs...

Location of the hotel is great, just 5-minutes walk from the Centraal Train station and with access to the Dam square and the other attractions. It is a great place for young people, but for an older person like me, I found it way too noisy in the night - with noise from a night club on the ground floor and the young hotel guests who kept running up and down the squeaky wood stairs and talking very loudly in the hallways until well past midnight. I found the room small but clean and adequate but the shared shower was dirty and unkept. The place felt like a "students" hostel rather than a hotel and so makes it expensive for what you get - although I guess it is the location we pay for!! I was able to walk to most of the usual attractions and that was good. Janet Panford, Canada - (I am not from Germany by the way).

This was the most digusting hotel i have ever been to. The doulebedded room I stayed in was filthy dirty, it had just a washbasin in the corner, the tiny TV was not working, the window one could not open, the walls where dirty, had holes in, so you could look into the romme next door and where drawn and smeared on by previous customers. The public shower and toilet was in such a digusting dirty and indiscribable state that we decided not to use these facilities!! The whole night people where coming and going and made most awfull noises, so one couldnd sleep. The hotelowners should be ashamed of themselves to let rooms in that disgusting, filthy state. What a bad immage that must leave for the city of Amsterdam!!!!!!!! I would most certainly never recommend this dump of a "hotel" to anyone, not even to my greatest ememy!!!!!!!!! The whole place is just one great nightmare! And we had to pay some 80€ cash on arrival for virtually nothing. They knew why, i presume!

The only possible plus points for this hotel is location and the bed was comfortable. The shower unit was broken. Flooring tiles in the shower were broken and sharp. The lighting in the room was inadeqate (impossible to read). The window latch was broken and impossible to leave open. The room was tiny - more in keeping with a single. The breakfast room was dangerous with trailing wires. There was no indication as to what was available for breakfast and no service. Food ran out and was not replaced. There were insufficient plates and cutlery. The price vis a vis service and facilities was a complete rip off. I will not be staying again and would not recommend the hotel to anyone.

Biggest problem with this place is that there is no lift...We had to lug 3 heavy suitcases up 4 flights of stairs. The walls were thin and you could hear conversations in the next room. The room was big enough and the beds comfortable. Clean towels daily. The breakfast was good. The location was excellent. About 2 blocks from the Central Station. My wake up call was about 2 hours late. Good thing I didn't have to catch a flight. So if your looking for a clean room without any perks at a good price with an excellent location stay here.

Me and seven other friends decieded to stop at the Hotel Manofa as recommended by a friend. Rooms we stayed in Quad: The window was held up by a small pringles can! Also my friend got woken up by a rat nibbling under the floor boards! When he complained to reception, they saud "next door was having renovation work been done and the rat came in from next door (What a laugh!!!) 2 x Twin: One twin had a tool box left in there. Final comment. This hotel needs a serious refurbishment to bring it upto date, as the carpet are very worn and there are cracks in the ceiling of the bedrooms. My friends and I stayed in a triple room with private dacilities. We were rather happy with the condition of the room for the price paid. I would not reccommend it for people of age or for people with small kids because: a) there is young people living there mainly with all the consequences ;) b) there are very steep staircase and no elevator I should specaially mark the location. It is really very convenient - all the attractions are just at hand. So all young people who are going to Amsterdam to have fun and not stay in the hotel and who are caring about the budget - you can easily stay at Manofa.

after one night we changed of hotel. Manofa hotel is not a budget hotel. Even a youth hostel would be cleaner and nicer. Room, public areas dusgusting, marijuana smell everywhere, even in rooms, bathroom disgusting too (no toilet paper, flush out of order). And maybe the worse: stains on all sheets and towels.... Hopefully we had the chance to change of hotel and go to the Koreaener (also on your website). We paid an extra 240 euros for a private bathroom, the price/quality is really bad, but at least it was A BIT cleaner than the Manofa Hotel

This hotel is honestly a 5 minute walk from CENTRALL station...but the area is bad...its in the worst area to experience amsterdam!! i wont stay here again, but i do not regret it b/c it was somewhere to sleep... We luckily got a room facing the back so it was relatively quiet...this whole area is very shady!! full of ghetto and crazy ppl....bye

The unit was ideally located, with the tram and train stations nearby. The front desk of the hotel was very co-operative and enlightened us with the city highlights. Ideal place for a short getaway to the city

We booked a room for 4 people. The room was quite clean however we all experienced an outbreak of bed bugs which did not make for a good weekend. 2 weeks later we all still have scabs that are itchy!

This is a rather run down property which is rapidly being taken over by the less celubrious members of the backpacking community. Who are gradually trashing the place and find it hilarious to grab breakfast rolls before other guests get a chance to eat anything!! The staff at the desks are excellent, however they are let down by the cleaners. For instance my brothers room had human excrement in the bed. we were disturbed by wasters (I won't insult backpackers!) jumping around for 1 1/2 hours late at night until we reported this to the desk. Ths was instantly remedied by the staff member.

We didnt get what we wish, we asked for a bed for a babay, nobody care about us and weve wait on the reception until 2:oo with the small baby. If you still have this hotel in your reservationssystem i dont make never again a hotelreservation with you. I travel a lot over all and never saw a hotel like this, all dirty, no conditions to sleep, no competence with the employees, really to forget about.

I was not happy with the hotel and almost feel that it ruined our time away. I booked 2 double bedrooms through yourselves. When we got there we actually had 1 room with two single beds shoved together. I wouldn't of minded so much but the bed bases were too small for the matresses so every time you sat on the edge of the bed, the whole lot fell apart/off. My friends room, also meant to be a double room, once again had 2 single beds shoved together and a 3rd single bed in their room. When i complained about the rooms and said that this was not what i had paid for i was told that I could have a double room for 1 night only. I told them to forget it, what use is that. I will never go back there and to be honest i will probably never book through venere for anything ever again. I feel cheated by both yourselves and the Hotel Manofa.

This hotel is good if your travelling with friends. It is very noisy if your room is near the stairs, as ours was. But who cares if you just want a warm room and comfortable bed. It was clean enough. The staff are alright. I wouldnt recommend it for families or anyone who wants to go to sleep at a decent hour. But I will definately come back again for a mad one!! Thanx Manofa and see you in the summer.

This hotel was fantastically located and a great base for a weekend in Amsterdam. The shower was good, beds comfortable and the room nice a big. The windows even opened for some fresh air. while its not the ritz, its certainly a good, comfortable hotel.

As I didn't get to stay at the Manofa due to a double booking, I can't comment on the rooms at the Manofa but the service I received was excellent & I was pleased with the alternative hotel we were sent to. I will try to book the Manofa again.

The accomodation was filthy with mice running around the bed rooms, no action was taken about our complaints and would not recommend the manofa to anyone

A reasonable price in a very central location, however, we stayed on a saturday night and because of being on bustling main street, there was a lot of street noise. Sunday night was much more quiet. If you are looking for a central location, its hard to beat. We needed two rooms, and they only had one, but found us a second room next door for the agreed price. By the way, the safe in our room did not work.

I´d never had such a bad hotel before. It was so noisy, that we could only sleep 2-3 ours a night.I was in Amsterdam for work ,so i was not able to relax and be fit for the next day. Better sleep on the railway-station!

I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel at all, the bedspreads had cigarette burn marks in them, and didn't look very clean, neither did the towels. The curtains in the room I stayed in were filthy. There was an exposed socket in the bathroom, that had cellotape over it. The complementarty breakfast was unpleasant. The safe in our room didn't work, so we had to get the key from the duty manager. The vending machines in the lobby were very tempremental. To conclude, I was not at all impressed with the hotel, in particular it's cleanliness. I think in terms of value for money, it wasn't great, If the place had been clean, and the decor a little less drab, then it would have been value for money. The hotel could certainly benefit from a lick of paint, and a good clean.
