Found the hotel no problems and was initially impressed with the impressive looking building. From there it went down hill. Basic looking reception come dining area, poor looking decor, bedroom tiny, intermittent access to internet whilst in bedroom.

Hotel Hortus was an excellent value and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good value close to museums and the center. It's a budget hotel; small rooms, somewhat noisy neighbors, but fun and interesting.

Away from the center. Nice and quiet area. Breakfast was simple but nice to start the day. Staff was nice and helpful.

Very wecloming and helpfull staff. The breakfast was also good and substantional. Room was clean and good for it's price. The only comment is that it was quite cold there, and we had the same key from the common door ( which led to 4 rooms) and our own room.Which means that probably other people could open the doors of each other... But there was a locker (safe) inside a room, so it was not a problem.

Room was nice but quite small, there was a lack of furnishing (a microscopic wardrobe and two microscopic Nightstands), toilet was shared. The hostel is in front of the botanic park and not far from the centre. Good for few days and for easygoing travellers.

Great Location, Great Price. Very much a hotel for people that are on a low budget but does the trick if all you want is a bed for the night and a breakfast to start the day. Shared shower and toilet.

We stayed at this Hotel only for one night, and therefore it was really okay. If you stay a little bit longer, not more than 3 days, because the toilet and dusche are not in the room. But for one night you can go outside. Breakfast war really okay, coffee as mnuch as you want, toast, eggs, cheese, ham, marmelade and so on. I would always return to this house.

The hotel is more like a hostel and you get what you pay for. The rooms are small and very dated and basic but they are clean and completely fine if you just want a base and not intending to spend much time there. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast consisted of toast, eggs and coffee. The main negative point was everyone seems to smoke in the breakfast room throughout the day which isn't too nice when your eating. I would be happy to stay there again.
