4 star Inn Amsterdam

Durgerdammerdijk 73 - Amsterdam

Price starting from 74 .00

Amsterdam Village Hotel is located in the picturesque village of Durgerdam, at the outskirts of Amsterdam. The hotel is exceptionally sited on the most beautiful natural bay of the Netherlands, Buiten-IJ, the gate to the Markermeer and the IJsselmeer Lakes. Amsterdam Village Hotel is one of the last accommodations that have been preserved in the town, now being englobed by the big city of Amsterdam.

According to reports, the husband of Queen Wilhelmina, Prince Hendrik, was a frequent and gladly seen guest of the inn, which is a good place to stop for nature lovers and lovers of the rural beauty, as well as for hikers, tourists, yachts, and for all those who appreciate a good meal. Yet, the inn also features a separate conference, or meeting room, and meeting arrangements in combination with the inn rooms are possible.

The restaurant was adorned with splendid murals that remind of former days. Guests will be served a Dutch-French menu with fresh fish and meat specialties from the grill, and gourmet game dishes, according to the season, while you may enjoy a freshly draught beer, or a good drop of wine at the original bar with its beautiful century-old tap. Wireless Internet access is provided, and there is an Internet point at the Amsterdam Village Hotel lobby, both free of charge.

We were very happy for our stay. Very Nice room, great décoration in front of the sea. Good address spécial y if you have a car because the parking for Amsterdam Is at 4 mn So you could have a break after visiting the city and you do not need a car. So we recommend this wonderfull place. I was with 3 children and the price Is good compare to Amsterdam.

This hotel is definitely a one-of-a kind! We were so impressed by the friendly staff and bar/restaurant atmosphere. We chose one of the water view rooms in the original building and were not disappointed ~ It was beautiful! Very quirky and historical, with a great view of the water and pier. Most of the other rooms are located behind the main historical building. From the outside, they looked nice and modern. We had dinner in the restaurant that night. As mentioned before, the ambiance was wonderful, though the food was a bit high priced for what it was. Overall, we highly recommend this wonderful hotel located in a charming village right outside Amsterdam!

What a delightful find. The hotel is in a small village on the outskirts of the city, which makes it very quiet and peaceful, with lots of wildfowl resident in the huge lakes that surround it. The location really is beautiful. They have their own pier on the lake with seating at the far end, so you really feel as though you’re sitting right on the water. It’s very romantic for couples. Our room was in the new part of the hotel on the ground floor. It was spacious with plenty of room for all our stuff, a lovely bathroom with a great shower, great heating (we needed it – it was freezing outside!), a mini-bar fridge that came in handy for the delicious Dutch cheese we bought and a safe. But best of all was the most wonderfully comfortable bed that, together with the thick curtains and near silence of our surroundings, resulted in us missing breakfast every day of our stay! The food is incredibly expensive for what it is, although the pricey sandwiches we had were tasty. Parking is secure and much cheaper than any of the hotels in the city centre could offer. There is a bus service from outside the hotel that offers a free trip to a bus terminus from where you can get a bus to the centre. It runs about once an hour but on Sundays it’s a telephone request service. Alternatively, the park & ride is a 5-minute drive away and excellent value for money – parking + return tram to the centre is 8 Euros for up to 4 people. But if you don’t want to drive, the tram stop is a pleasant 40-minute walk away through lovely countryside where you can admire the lakeside view and boats from the top of the dyke. We had good weather though so it probably wouldn’t be quite so pleasant in the rain. I wouldn’t stay here without a car – not because of needing to use it whilst we were there, but purely because of getting to and from the hotel with luggage. We would definitely stay here again.

The place is much smaller than we anticipated, especially the rooms. A little more transparency when advertising would do a big lot good.
