This was a disappointing experience. The hotel seem to be declining. The hotel was run down with a bad smell hanging in the hallways. Nothing to do in the surroundings.

it would be more helpful if you extended the use if WIFI for more than 12 hours after signing on , so that I can re-check my email account again the next morning without having to return to the front desk for another code. This seems a little inconvenient to me.

The Bonsai Hotel has small rooms and the bathroom was a bit dingy, but for the price, it was good overall. Our room was clean and the hotel was easily accessible from a main road, so we didn't get lost trying to find it. Plus, it is located right next to the only dance club in St. Emilion, so it was a very fun night for us after a day of sight seeing in old St. Emilion. Other than that, there isn't much close by to the hotel.

The general friendliness and the standard of the restaurant makes up for the fact that the hotel would benefit from some cosmetic upgrading. We don't speak French very well but were encouraged to use what we had, nobody laughed! (The restaurant does provide a menu in English)

The room although small was adaquate for this price range. The standard of the decorations was however poor. Although the rooms etc. were clean, the peeling wallpaper gave the impression that a refurbish was well overdue. The room was also rather dark with poor lighting levels, but this is also typical.

The set 29 euromenu was exceptionally good, and great value for money. My only comment is that some staff appeared to be a little inexperienced, but if you are looking for value for money and good food. then this is the place.
