The hotel was very nice for the price. The room was quite spacious for a European hotel. The bed and bathrooms were modern and very clean. We could not have asked for a better location. Less than a couple of blocks from the 3 main museums, the metro, the bus, the double decker tourist bus and Starbucks!! Great local pub near by called the 7 Sins featuring flavored mojitos.

I found out the hotel very nice. Our room was spacious, quiet and very clean. The staff was pleasant and helpfull. They made a lot of reservations for us - for restaurants, cars, etc. The location is also great, enough far from the chaos of Puerta del Sol district and very convenient to see the most important Madrid museums (the Reina Sofia is only just across the road)and central to the rest of the city. Great relationsghip between price and quality. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Hotel is very nice. Very convinient location (just 5 min from Atocha train station and about 5 or 10 min from Prado museum). Interior is modern, we liked it. Some rooms are noisy (rooms that looking to Atocha street),but staff was very friendly and our room was changed. If we come to Madrid once again we'll stay in this nice place.

The hotel is wonderfully located for the museum triangle, botanical gardens and ease of access to the train station, which we used frequently. The rooms are clean and functional, and the bathrooms are definitely top notch. I would definitely use the hotel again.

The hotel is a great deal. Good location, clean etc. But as others before me have stated, DO NOT expect to rely on the front desk for ANYTHING. We were given incorrect directions to a bus station that changed the plans for our entire day and our wake up call never rang the morning we were heading to the airport.

A very comfortable hotel ideally located for both the major art museums and the Atocha railway station. Desk staff very helpful in general and in finding an open pharmacy when we needed one during the siesta. Breakfast buffet lavish but too expensive - we used local bars on most days of our visit.

We picked the hotel for its quality and location and were not disappointed on either count.  The rooms were large and well cared for. As others have commented the breakfast was expensive, but with the choice and quantity you could skip lunch!  You can walk easily to the Prado and the Reina Sophia is only just across the road and has an excellent restaurant at lunchtime. The evening meal in the hotel was good, though not well patronised. While there are many cafes for snacks there aren't many good restaurants close by, but we found a nice Italian restaurant opposite the Reina Sophia.I would certainly come back to this hotel and recommend it to those wanting to visit the Art Galleries.

Excellent rooms, staff, location; just two minor problems: the bar is like a goldfish bowl, directly visible from the road; and the gym had no towels, water or TV/music.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel which was close to everywhere we wanted to visit and to the metro. We got a very friendly welcome and our room was very clean and quiet and had a balcony. We did not avail of the breakfast as we found this to be expensive and instead opted for local cafes which were much cheaper. I would highly recommend this hotel for a visit to Madrid.

The hotel in well connected (metro & station) but it takes about 40 minutes to arrive from the airport. Breakfast, if not included, costs about €20/person !!! Ahead the hotel there are very good tapas... and it is near the museums (Prado, Thyssen & Sofia). It's a very good choice.

Its location was perfect to see the 3 important museums, central to the rest of the city, and was a few minutes walk to the Atocha metro stop. The room was also very pleasant and well taken care of all the 5 days I was there. I found the reception staff pleasant and helpful.I was totally pleased. However I did have one criticism, and that was the lobby bar. I wished at times to sit here to eat a light meal. It was filled with nonstop cigarette smoke which I found unpleasant. The staff there was for the most part unfriendly, and gave bad service with a bad attitude. To place an order I had to go and find the menu and the waitress. The same was true when I wished to pay. Not one, except one young man, seemed interested in providing pleasant service. But this in no way ruined my stay, and I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Awesome hotel and amazing for the price. We checked in early at 8:00 AM after an overnight train and there was no problem at all. Very comfortable beds (although it was 2 singles pushed together), soft towels, great decor. Easy to find from the subway and right next door to the Prado.

Nice little hotelbar with very friendly staff...walking distance to almost everything, the prado museum is almost across the street and the senter of Madrid (plaza Mayor and Sol) is about 10 min walking distanse from the hotel. Four working ladies on a city break. The location was excellent. Easy walking distance to all the art galleries and a ten minute walk from the shops. Didn't use public transport at all. Hallow'een night very noisy all night on streets and a club nearby but otherwise quiet. Would recommend the hotel. Lovely breakfast, try to have it included in the price as it is slightly expensive otherwise. Nice bar area for a quiet drink in the evening.

Hotel was very clean and neat. Decor was updated and modern. Room was very small, my guess 12'X 15', not including hall and bath. Rooftop terrace had 4 chairs and no view. The location is at one end of the Prado on a ho-hum street. Madrid was our last stop before coming home and while this hotel was the least desirable of the hotels we experienced, it was also half the cost of the next cheapest hotel we stayed in. It is a good value.

Well positioned, walking distance to centre of town. Only problem is the staff do not understand English, very hard to communicate, therefore they dont sort out any problems, except for the day we left, there was an australian gentleman that helped us. Otherwise hotel was good and clean

Hotel has a modern look, but quality of the building is IKEA-like --- looks great, but not high quality. We were disappointed by the lack of certain amenities in the room, such as an ironing board and iron, and shower products were below average for a 4 star hotel. Lobby was nice, with a bar and plenty of seating. Rooms were reasonably quiet given the downtown Madrid location. Might have seemed expensive to us due to the poor exchange rate with the US dollar.

Io ogni giorno andavo e tornavo a piedi. La stanza è abbastanza ampia. C'è una bellissima poltrona lunga ce occupa però1bel po di spazio e la tv LCD!Complimenti a Venere ci siamo trovati bene!e tutto è come è scritto!

Although this is, on the whole, an excellent hotel to stay in, my main complaint refers to the disagreement between the prices provided through the web and the actual cost, which was approximately 50% higher. Fortunately, the price/quality ratio is good enough, so the "surprise" can be afforded with no trouble... but with a slight disappointment, important enough to decide not to repeat the experience, in spite of the hotel's excellent facilities.

New Hotel only open 9 months at our visit Sept06. General impression reasonable. Room had poor view( side street) but as we were only there 2 nights, not too important. One gripe was the air conditioning in the room was too efficient when you were out. The moment the room was empty (key card removed) the air con went to auto from whatever setting you were on, so when you came back in the room was baltic. Probably quite pleasant when its 35-40c outside, but not so welcoming when its cloudy and 20c.!!We solved this by getting a second card from reception and left it in the sensor when we went out. Devious or what? Second gripe was the Internet wi-fi connection for my lap top, Its the first time Ive had to pay for it in a hotel. Not cheap at I think it was 6€ for 1 hour or about 14€ for a day. Third gripe was the same about having to pay for parking. Fourth gripe was when we came back at night after dinner out, as we are a pair of old fogies, we wanted a coffee and a wee relax in the bar area. Well, lets play spot the bar person.? A search party was put together by the very pleasant security guy who nornally wandered about the reception area looking important, employed to keep out the great unwashed and other tourists like us who were probably only looking for a coffee. On both evenings some 10 - 15 minutes passed before a member of staff appeared. We think he was either having a fly ciggie outside or as we would prefer to believe was actually serving someone in the adjacent dining room. The coffee was actually well worth waiting for however. On a more serious note for other potential guests the hotel is not dead centre but is within walking distance (uphill a fair bit) to the main shopping area. It is very comfortable and clean and the room we had was not massive but perfectly adequate with a nice bathroom. The reception staff were good. The inclusive breakfast was a nice varied buffet and was fine. Overall the stay was value for money in the Capital.
