An outstanding welcome. Our attempt to converse in broken, Australian accented Spanish was met with a very friendly response in English; a lovely touch. Comfortable modern room. Outstanding location. Middle distance to Reina Sofia and Prado museums and a nice walk to Plaza Mayor, although the Metro is also at the doorstep. A number of small bars/cafes frequented by locals nearby so you can avoid eateries more tailored to tourists.

Myself and my husband stayed at the Hotel Husa Paseo del Arte for a long weekend and even though there was construction work going on outside our room it did not affect our stay. We found the staff very helpful and extremely friendly. The location is 5 mins away from the El Prado and 7 mins from the train station.I would certainly stay here again.

The staff was very helpful as I had many questions. They were patient with me and i was able to get to where I needed to go. The room was fine. It needs a clock and a better system for getting internet access. Having to go down to the desk each time was a bit tiring. I would stay here again.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at this hotel. The first impression wasn't bad, but it is definitely not a 4 star hotel. The previous 5 nights we were in a 3 star hotel in Barcelona which was so much nicer, more comfortable than Husa Paseo del Arte. We chose this hotel because of the price. We knew that the internet wasn't included, but what a hassle it was to get it. It failed to work several times, and the receptionist had to issue new passwords every time. They tried hard but there is something intrinsically wrong with their internet service. The other big issue we had was the A/C. We were there in the beginning of October, so at night we wouldn't have used it since the temperature outside was very nice. However, the street in front of the hotel is so noisy, all night long, that it made it impossible to sleep with the windows open. With the windows closed the room was stuffy and hot. And the A/C didn't work. We called to complain about this and they told us to use one of the controls versus the other; this didn't work, someone came and did the same thing and told us to wait a while for the room to cool down. It didn't. Finally the next day a technician came and he fixed it and it wasn't a control problem, it was much more than that. Overall, we didn't feel like this was addressed promptly and it did ruin one of the two nights we spent there.

This was a great place to stay in Madrid...fantastic location, super-clean and modern rooms/bath, and the most helpful front desk I have encountered in a long time, in any country. They helped us with travel arrangements and suggested wonderful nightlife locations. Walking distance to the major museums and the main train station...all at a reseaonable price! A great start to our honeymoon!

This hotel was very good value. Although the price is room only and the buffet breakfast is quite costly there are a few small cafes/restaurants very close by where you can have breakfast quite reasonably. The cityhopper sightseeing open top bus stop is very close to the hotel around the corner opposite McDonalds and tickets can be purchased from reception. Take the 48hour offer as there is lots to see and admire. If you stay longer the bus allows you to hop on and off at will and get your bearings fairly quickly and then you can purchase a 2 day Metro pass for much less and get around quickly and safely. When out sightseeing take lots of water the temparature can be very high and on an open top remember your sun hat and suncream.

Less than a couple of blocks from the 3 main museums, the metro, the bus, the double decker tourist bus and Starbucks!! Great local pub near by called the 7 Sins featuring flavored mojitos.

I found out the hotel very nice. Our room was spacious, quiet and very clean. The staff was pleasant and helpfull. They made a lot of reservations for us - for restaurants, cars, etc. The location is also great, enough far from the chaos of Puerta del Sol district and very convenient to see the most important Madrid museums (the Reina Sofia is only just across the road)and central to the rest of the city. Great relationsghip between price and quality. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

The hotel is a great deal. Good location, clean etc. But as others before me have stated, DO NOT expect to rely on the front desk for ANYTHING.

We picked the hotel for its quality and location and were not disappointed on either count.  The rooms were large and well cared for. As others have commented the breakfast was expensive, but with the choice and quantity you could skip lunch!  You can walk easily to the Prado and the Reina Sophia is only just across the road and has an excellent restaurant at lunchtime. The evening meal in the hotel was good, though not well patronised. While there are many cafes for snacks there aren't many good restaurants close by, but we found a nice Italian restaurant opposite the Reina Sophia.I would certainly come back to this hotel and recommend it to those wanting to visit the Art Galleries.

Its location was perfect to see the 3 important museums, central to the rest of the city, and was a few minutes walk to the Atocha metro stop. The room was also very pleasant and well taken care of all the 5 days I was there. I found the reception staff pleasant and helpful.I was totally pleased. However I did have one criticism, and that was the lobby bar. I wished at times to sit here to eat a light meal. It was filled with nonstop cigarette smoke which I found unpleasant. The staff there was for the most part unfriendly, and gave bad service with a bad attitude. To place an order I had to go and find the menu and the waitress. The same was true when I wished to pay. Not one, except one young man, seemed interested in providing pleasant service. But this in no way ruined my stay, and I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Hotel was very clean and neat. Decor was updated and modern. Room was very small, my guess 12'X 15', not including hall and bath. Rooftop terrace had 4 chairs and no view. The location is at one end of the Prado on a ho-hum street. Hotel has a modern look, but quality of the building is IKEA-like --- looks great, but not high quality. We were disappointed by the lack of certain amenities in the room, such as an ironing board and iron, and shower products were below average for a 4 star hotel. Lobby was nice, with a bar and plenty of seating. Rooms were reasonably quiet given the downtown Madrid location. Might have seemed expensive to us due to the poor exchange rate with the US dollar.

Io ogni giorno andavo e tornavo a piedi. La stanza è abbastanza ampia. C'è una bellissima poltrona lunga ce occupa però1bel po di spazio e la tv LCD!Complimenti a Venere ci siamo trovati bene!e tutto è come è scritto!

Although this is, on the whole, an excellent hotel to stay in, my main complaint refers to the disagreement between the prices provided through the web and the actual cost, which was approximately 50% higher. Fortunately, the price/quality ratio is good enough, so the "surprise" can be afforded with no trouble... but with a slight disappointment, important enough to decide not to repeat the experience, in spite of the hotel's excellent facilities.

New Hotel only open 9 months at our visit Sept06. General impression reasonable. Room had poor view( side street) but as we were only there 2 nights, not too important. One gripe was the air conditioning in the room was too efficient when you were out. The moment the room was empty (key card removed) the air con went to auto from whatever setting you were on, so when you came back in the room was baltic. Probably quite pleasant when its 35-40c outside, but not so welcoming when its cloudy and 20c.!!We solved this by getting a second card from reception and left it in the sensor when we went out. Devious or what? Second gripe was the Internet wi-fi connection for my lap top, Its the first time Ive had to pay for it in a hotel. Not cheap at I think it was 6€ for 1 hour or about 14€ for a day. Third gripe was the same about having to pay for parking. Fourth gripe was when we came back at night after dinner out, as we are a pair of old fogies, we wanted a coffee and a wee relax in the bar area. Well, lets play spot the bar person.? A search party was put together by the very pleasant security guy who nornally wandered about the reception area looking important, employed to keep out the great unwashed and other tourists like us who were probably only looking for a coffee. On both evenings some 10 - 15 minutes passed before a member of staff appeared. We think he was either having a fly ciggie outside or as we would prefer to believe was actually serving someone in the adjacent dining room. The coffee was actually well worth waiting for however. On a more serious note for other potential guests the hotel is not dead centre but is within walking distance (uphill a fair bit) to the main shopping area. It is very comfortable and clean and the room we had was not massive but perfectly adequate with a nice bathroom. The reception staff were good. The inclusive breakfast was a nice varied buffet and was fine. Overall the stay was value for money in the Capital.

The rooms are lovely and the staff is very polite and helpful. The breakfast is a bit expensive but abundant. Location is wonderful with museums and all transportation just across the street. The wifi is not entirely reliable but there are terminals available in the spacious lobby.
