Hotel is above Madrid Chamartin station which makes it an excellent location for sight-seeing- local as well as around Madrid; as we went to Segovia, Toledo, El Escorial, Lisbon, Seville from Chamartin. Metro takes you in 10 min. to the bull ring and 15 min. to the historic centre Sol. Good view of the 4 famous towers "Quatro" & the suburbs from our 10th floor room. Extra spacious rooms. We kept our luggage for 2 days when we went to Lisbon by night train. It is better than staying in congested centre. 4 star hotel @ 50 euro- Full value for money.

The member of staff who received us did not know which rooms had double beds so after a couple of unsuccessful tries we gave up and moved the twin beds together. It was not satisfactory.

This was the first time we stayed at this hotel. We got a suite of two large rooms(sittingroom/diningroom and bedroom) a big bathroom and toilet and a balcony as well as two TV sets. The price at 63.75 euros was excellent. Our only complaint was that the entrances were not easy to findand one of them was closed when we returned at 11pm one night so we had to do a substantial detour to go to the main entrance.

Although not in the exact centre of Madrid, this hotel (very competitively priced) has the advantage of being above a major metro and train station. The centre can be reached on the metro in minutes. You can get a bargain five day tourist ticket to take you on all the metro and local trains.

This is a very good hotel at a very good price bearing in mind the £ for British visitors to Madrid. Excellent connections to the metro (underground) which is situated right underneath the hotel and no distance from the Airport - only half an hour on the metro. Very fast connections to the city centre from the hotel using the metro which is every 10 minutes and takes only ten minutes - couldn't be better for tourists using excellent transport system. And it is a great city too. Not a lot of English spoken but locals very friendly and helpful - and very hot in June.

HORRIBLE hotel! It should be rated either 1 star or as a hostel, this is NOT a 4 star hotel. Has not been renovated since the 70's - filthy, ugly rooms - very noisy - rude and incompetent staff. NEVER STAY HERE!!

this hotel certainly is convenient to transportation to other areas in madrid and this was important to me since i was traveling to the north. arrival and finding the location of the hotel was a little bit of a mystery since there was not good signage. also, since i was traveling lightly, i did not have assistance in carrying my bags to my room. this lead to some confusion with understanding the room lights something people at the reception desk did not understand. would i recommend this hotel? yes, it is convenient, clean, quiet and easy transportation to other areas of madrid and outer regions.

very poor to be a four stars hotel, it seems 3 stars hotel, and the location was described as strategic and near to the center but in the citycenter you can find same level at better price.

Unfriendly welcome. When I asked for directions for parking a 3m high van, they were not interested to help. In the end I found parking 100m away and had to pay 25 euros a day. When they advertised parking in the website it means parking on the streets. Good luck finding parking there. Hotel address on website cannot be found on my GPS because it is the address of the train station. Rooms were very old. Maybe there should be an association to check to make sure the "4 star" rating is a true 4 star. Well you get what you pay for.

Excellent breakfast. Helpful friendly staff. Lacks only a kettle in the room. Close to the EXCELLENT (cheap) Madrid Metro system.

This is a large, fairly typical, business hotel with spacious rooms on several floor. It is in an excellent location if you are travelling by train from Chamartin station (generally this means heading north from Madrid). It is also handy for the metro, so it is easy to get to the centre.

Our stay at Husa Charmintin was terrible. We had to make four calls to the front desk because of rowdy teenagers making noise and slamming doors in the hallway. Although a security guard was sent up, he did not see the kids, so the staff insisted that there was no noise and what we were hearing was coming from outside. The group's chaperone was not called, and no one stayed for more than 30 seconds the see where the problem was coming from. At our insistance, we packed our luggage and my husband, infant daughter and I changed rooms to another floor. As the staff was helping us move, they saw the teenagers slamming doors and making noise. Nothing was done. The next day we asked for an apology for our inconvenence and some kind of compensation. Even after seeing the problem themselves, they insisted that the "noise came from outside". I have never seen such unprofessionalism and disrepect in a hotel staff. There is no way this should be considered a four star hotel. If you want a pleasant stay in Madrid, DON't stay here.

Ottimo hotel.

The hotel stay was fine, very convenient next to the train station. The metro stop was under construction, so it was a bit of a hassle to have to walk 10 minutes to the next closest metro stop, but that was not the hotel's fault. The Pay TV system was not working for the English movie, but their technical staff eventually fixed it. Breakfast is not included, there is a convenience store that is open late where you can get some cheap food and there is the train station. The major downside to this was that the hotel charged us tax on top of what Venere quoted us. The Venere price is supposed to include tax unless it's local tax. However, this hotel charged us the national tax which was an additional 7-8%. I probably would have booked a different hotel if I knew this. All my other Venere bookings did not charge tax on top of the price. So, I would add 7-8% to the Venere price to figure out what you're really going to pay.

We stayed overnight having come from the coast of Spain that day by rail and leaving by international plane the next. The location was excellent for our purposes being at the Charmartin station where we arrived and not far from the airport by the metro. Apart from the unfriendly welcome (not really a significant issue) we were happy with the quality of our stay. For a visitor wanting to see Madrid it would be more advisable to stay more centrally. I was surprised when booking that the web page quoted one price as the minimum price but when I got an actual quote for the night it was much cheaper. There was no noise from the station.

4* service, but 2* rooms (old, dark bathroom!). For one night for business it's o.k., also if you take a train from Chamartin, but I wouldn't like to spend my holiday there.
