Hotel Sternen Oerlikon - Oerlikon, Zurich

Bien todo excepto algo de ruido de la calle. Well everything except some street noise.

Well located hotel with multiple ( train. bus tram) connections to Zurich downtown (10 minutes ride). Ideal for someone booked in an early morning flight at ZRH airport. Not that convenient for a long stay. One big minus for the hotel is the annoying sound coming every fifteen minutes from the two nearby churches ding-dong bells.

Excellent location barely 50 metres from tram stop and good locality for trains and food. Staff were friendly and helpful

Very easy to go to the Halenstadion from that hotel! Nice welcoming a part from the night guy who was a bit rude. Price really correct for Zurich; room was not amazing but functional and clean. However bathroom needed to be "refreshed". The restaurant of the hotel was great and people serving really nice and prompt!Food was delicious and worth it!

This hotel is away from main part of city but served with good public transport. It offers a pleasant stay in the centre of a suburb with good restaurants and shops.

Good location right next to tram station and not far from sternen oerlikon train stn. Very helpfull staff and good rooms. the road facing are a little noisy but everything esle is good value for money.

This was a very cute clean hotel. Everything in Zurich is very expencive, so relativly speking I did feel like the price was good. The beds were very comfortable and the room was well maintained. My only dislike was the distance from the shopping area. You have to take a tram witch is not too long but, a bit out of the way from the old city.

The place is convenient for travelling both to Zurich and Airport. It is also nearby to Railstation, Oerlikon. Staff service was also good. Keep it up.

This is the third time I have visited Oerlikon and have enjoyed it each time. Buses and trains on the doorstep - very convenient and, as expected in Switzerland, everything is clean and efficient. I look forward to my next visit.

It was a nice clean hotel , though we had a little difficulty in finding the correct way to hotel.

Very noisy hotel, small and badly decorated room. The price indicated for the room does not include the breakfast (price: 17 CHF = 11 euros) of an average quality. All the services (parking, garage....) are paying in more of the price of the room. Conclusion: excessively expensive hotel for the poor quality of the services. Hotel très bruyant, chambre petite et mal décorée. Le prix indiqué pour la chambre n'inclut pas le petit déjeuner (prix en plus : 17 CHF = 11 euros) d'une qualité moyenne. Toutes les prestations (parking, garage, ....) sont payantes en plus du prix de la chambre. Conclusion : hotel excessivement cher pour la qualité médiocre des prestations et services.

The room was ok, but the bathroom was really small.

I found the Sternen Oerlikon hotel excellent. It is in walking distance from Oerlikon station which in turn is very handy to the airport. The room was most comfortable with ensuite bathroom and a television and the receptionist very friendly and helpful. I was most impressed when she made me a cup of tea on arrival at 9.00 pm and I wasn\'t charged for it. I wouldn\'t hesitate to stay there again and thoroughly recommend it. Regards Judy Appleby

This is the third time I have stayed and each time I have found the reception staff to be friendly and helpful. Close to train station and trams pass the door. A little more atmosphere at breakfast wouldn't go amiss. Other public areas are virtually non-existent. However, all in all, pleasant and very reasonably priced

Although my husband thought the hotel was "weird," it was in a terrific location, and the front desk people were nice and helpful. Breakfast was extensive and filling, and the room was spacious and quite clean. The site was about a 1.5-minute walk to the nearest tram station -- if that! No complaints at all.

The Hotel is very well placed for a more budget conscious visit to Zurich. It is about 30 minutes from downtown, but straight on the tramway which is pleasant. I found the center of Oerlikon more pleasant than the busy downtown and preferred to eat meals near the hotel as it was easy and more pleasant.

Overall a nice hotel in an area very convenient to tram transportation. however, expensive extra charge (15 CHF per person) for breakfast and also extra charge to access the internet in the lobby should have been avoided.

Rooms are adequate and for the price, pretty good compared to other grossly overpriced rooms in Zurich. Staff were good and helpful although check whether the actually accept your credit card even if there is a sign on the door.

A good quality hotel but difficult to find without a good map of the area. The one-way street system makes it hard to approach. Lack of airconditioning makes it a bit uncomfortable in hot weather.

I had what was described as unrenovated economy room. The only less than fully satisfying aspect was the bathroom which one had to climb a little to reach. It was also impossible to take a shower without pouring water on the wc. But this was not a big problem. A nice feature was a bowl of free apples in the reception, very nice in an expeensive city. The hotel is located in Oerlikon, as pleasant suburb, but with only a few hundred meters to the railway station. As there is another railway station near the opera house and trainss are frequent this hotel is a good choice if you are going to the opera every evening. When booking I did not realize that breakfast is complimentary, and was not sure if I would use it every morning. But the price was not very high and the quality was good, so I did. There is a tram station, which I used sometimes, quite near to the hotel.

The hotel actually undergoes renovation. My room was one of the "old" ones, but great value for the reduced rate offered (CHF 95 instead CHF 125) Special appreciation to the front staff, who was extremly courteous and gave me every assistance needed (I am age 85). Definitely a place I will recommend to friends!
