Zurich is not an easy town to drive around, mainly for people who doesn´t speak swiss or german. On arrival date, after about two hours of driving up and down in search of the hotel, we decided to stop a taxi to guide us there. The Coronado is a small and simple hotel. Do not expect any luxury, it is just a clean and affordable place to stay in Zurich with all you need to keep moving, beds are comfortable and in a word the hotel is efficient but plain. It is by the city limit and just in front of a tram stop that takes you downtown in about 15-20 minutes. Tram cost is about 4 euros one way or 9 euros for any number of trips during 24 hours. I do not recommend visitors to drive in Zurich without a GPS. The room we got had a fair size for 3 pax but was kind of strange with windows at 45 degrees and doors to cover them instead of curtains. It was an odd experience in the beginning since it takes part of the walking space, but it came to be very efficient to block the day light in the morning. Instead of a wall to separate the room from the bath, there is a satin piece of glass that brings a strange feeling of lack of privacy to the person inside the bathromm, though the real thing is that privacy is complete. The Coronado hotel is a good alternative for the cost, compared to the hotels downtown which are very expensive. The only big downmark is the breakfast which is expensive and additional to the room rate with a poor selection of items. The lady in charge of the breakfast room is rude and most unpolite. We got there about 30 minutes before closing and she refused to refill the empty trays on the bar. We had to argue with her and let her know that we were not going to pay 15 euros for just a glass of juice. Only when we were going to claim with the management about her attitude she refilled the trays on the breakfast bar. We would have gone somewhere else to have breakfast, but there are no other restaurants in the surroundings that are open in the mornings. There i

While the hotel was located not very far from the main station (only 10 minutes by tram), the hotel was small. They didn't have a ramp for the luggage to roll up to the reception (you have lift the luggage to the reception, as there were staircases). The reception staff was competent, but kind of little too blunt, which I found not so good. He was very helpful though. The room was okay, but very small. The bed was also very small and right for honeymoon couple only. Overall, it was a "OKAY" experience. I would like to explore some other hotel before I getinto this one next time. One positive point to note here that, they have parking and they don;t charge for parking during your stay!

The hotel was about 15 minutes from the main train station and city center. We had to figure out the Tram Route to get to the Hotel. There were 2 or 3 trams that would take you to that area. The tram stop was right in front of the hotel. We got there at night. The area was quiet and kind of lonely, but safe. The gentleman at the reception was very helpful. The room was very simple and small, but clean. I expected a bit more for 150 CHF/night.

Very nice modern hotel. Very large room which had a large king-size bed, sofa bed and an additional cot for a total of 4 people. Very comfortable bed and room, though we never could figure out the thermostat! Nice restaurant with good food. Location was directly across from the rail station but not many choices for restaurants and stores within walking distance. Staff was incredibly helpful!

Incredibly small, but clean and efficient room. The hotel staff, esp. the night manager, were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast, I feel was over priced. The equivalent of $15 for rolls, sausage, cheese, etc. seemed a bit much. Stayed here before and would do so again.

Pleasant, helpful people working at the desk…beautiful park across the street, as well as easy access to four tram lines, all of which run directly to the central train station…small, clean rooms with A/C and mini-refrigerators…Zurich itself is beautiful and a great place to visit. Make sure to carefully check the price of the room for each night you’re staying…we began and ended our honeymoon at this hotel, and didn’t notice that the second night was almost twice the price of the first.

Attentive, outgoing, always willing to assist and answer any questions. Very polite! Distance out of the city no big deal. Tram runs every couple minutes to get to the city. Well worth the 5 minutes of travel on the tram to be in a more quiet setting. Lovely place. Would highly recommend.

Nice hotel for the price. Room was a bit small (typical for Europe though) making it a bit cramped with a small child. Room faced the RR tracks making it a bit noisy.

Nice small hotel. Couple of kilometres away from city center but the tram transportation to centrum worked very vell. Very good quality vs. price. We had two rooms that vere opposite to the street where the trams operated and the rooms were quiet. One room had air conditioning but it was missing from the other allthough I recall that a/c was listed for the rooms in the web page. This didn't matter while weather was not hot. Good buffet breakfeast at reasonable price (about 11 Euros). As a whole the hotel is an excellent choise.

The hotel and staff are quite nice but I would have enjoyed it more if it were nearer to town. Although transportation is available right across the hotel but with my wife's mobility problem, it's a bit inconvenient. Still, I would recommend it to any other traveller who doesn't have problems with distance nor physical health.

This was a great place to stay in Zurich it was warm and comfortable and the breakfast (not included in the price) was great. The rooms were small (we expected this) and its some way out of town (also expected - 5 mins by tram). The downsides were compensated by the price. Would definitely stay here again. There is also a free shuttle bus from the airport (make sure you catch the Coronado bus - there is a special phone in the street outside the departure hall)

My boyfriend and I stayed here in Aug 2005 and found it very nice. We didn't eat in the resturant. We stayed in a double room with queen bed and bathroom. The room A/C worked very well. Everything was very nice - though the surroundings aren't as picturesque as if you were on the lake. However, hotels on the lake were out of our price range. The location was slightly away from the main tourist areas but is conveniently located just across the street from a tram stop. A short tram ride (no transfer necessary) would get you into town. We would definately stay here again.

The rooms are great, except that one of the rooms we stayed have an air-conditioner that made noise. the night shift young lady at the reception is very friendly, she's willing to provide us some information regarding the city, as well as the surroundings. the rooms are non-smoking but the corridor smell cigarette, probably because the glass door separating the smoking and non-smoking rooms is kept opened. location-wise, it's just steps away from the tram stop, and it's about 5 or 6 stops away from the central. 3 tram lines going thru central links to the tram stop. overally the stay is great.
