As an American who has more experience in USA travel than in European travel I found prices to be high, but that appears to be typical for the region. Because there is no air conditioning and the room is west-facing, it was uncomfortably warm on arriving in the evening. Opening the windows provided some relief, but not much help without also opening the door to the hall. Also, since the room faces a moderately busy street, the sound of automobiles and light rail was significant. The breakfast buffet was good, but limited to cold items. The staff were nice and the service was good. The location was quite convenient to public transportation.

This hotel was a last minute decision when we trained from Rome to Zurich...It fit the bill...a cab ride from train station and transport to airport arranged by hotel personnel very efficiently. Breakfast was excellent selection and included in room price. My only complaint was trolley traffic until midnight and early am, but knowing that you could ask for a room on the other side, away from traffic. Also, be prepared, there is no air conditioning/an oversight on my part. I am sure that this was in the detail for the hotel. Overall experience was very good.

How to reach Hotel Astor

By car
From the motorway A1 Berne/Basel or from the motorway A3 Chur/Lucerne: drive towards Hauptbahnhof/City, cross the bridge and continue driving in direction of Central. Turn left into Weinbergerstraße. You will find the hotel after 300 meters on the right side.
From the motorway A4 St.Gallen/Schaffhausen/Airport: follow the signs to City until exit Unterstraß. Drive in direction of Schaffhauserplatz/City. At Schaffhauserplatz turn left into Weinbergerstraße. You will find the hotel after 700 meters on the left side.

By train
From the main railway station, take tram line 7 in direction of Stettbach. Step off at Haldenegg. The hotel is located on the right side.

By airplane
Take a train from Zurich airport to the main railway station. Here you may take tram line 7 as mentioned above. Alternatively, you may also take the shuttle bus of the hotel or a taxi.

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. In case your chosen hotel needs a deposit, this information will be included in the "Cancellation policy" section and the deposit will have to be settled directly with the pre-selected property. It is not possible to cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a room indicated as "PREPAID/NOT REFUNDABLE". In this case, the total amount of your stay will be charged to your credit card by the hotel at the time of booking.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Check-in: the rooms are available at anytime after midday.
Check-out: it is necessary to leave the rooms not later than midday.

INCLUDED/NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
Use of private garage is not included in the price and costs CHF 15,00 per night.
Transfers from/to the airport are not included and cost CHF 25,00 per person.
Pets are admitted at no extra charge.
Breakfast is included in the price.

CANCELLATION POLICY
