Bathroom was dirty with mould between tiles and holes in wall where a shelf or something had been. Limescale and rust on shower. For 120 pounds would expect better. Also, the room was boiling!

Lovely location and great breakfast. Only issue was the sound of an extractor fan near our window but we were so tired it didn't affect our sleep.

A nice hotel, but our room was noisy. It was above a courtyard which was busy with a wedding reception in the afternoon. There was quite a bit of noise from voices in the courtyard until well after midnight and I what I believe was a kitchen extractor fan was running all night. The corridor outside the room also had very squeaky floorboards. the staff though were very helpful and allowed us to park at the hotel before our check in time so we could walk into York along the river. they also allowed us to leave baggage in reception until we returned.

Really friendly staff on reception, I locked my key in my room and by the time I got back someone was waiting to let me in. Breakfast was really good, lots of choice and the staff were on the ball, friendly but unobtrusive. Would definitely stay here again.

I stay in a lot of hotels, but I have to say that The York Pavillion was a real find.Great old Georgian House (the family home of the late 007 composer John Barry) in a lovely village close to York,a bus stop to town just outside if you needed it.The interior was very impressive and well furnished and spotlessly clean, with an abundance of friendly staff. Our double room(The Scarborough)was very smart and spacious with a great bathroom, and we overlooked a quiet courtyard.Breakfasts were VERY good, and plenty of choice.Parking was plentiful. All in all I cannot recommend this hotel too much for great value business or pleasure stays in York - and they host fantastic weddings there too!!

Very pleasant stay, staff were 100% pleasant and helpful, room was very clean, but our room 50 was next to the kitchen extractor fan, which was noisy if you intend to spend daytime in your room. It was switched off at night so did not hinder sleep. Beautiful walk into town along the river,or town parking. lovely breakfast, nice room and great staff, will be my first choice if visiting York again. Well done

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the service at breakfast was excellent. However if you stay at this hotel when there is a function on try not to stay in room 28. This room is directly above the function room. There were weddings on both of the nights we were there. The room was shaking because of the music from the disco. Surely the staff are aware of this and could have warned us. It would make sense to allocate rooms near the function room to guests attending the weddings. The information guide in the room asks that you do not have the volume on the television too loud out of consideration for other guests. In room 28 you cannot hear the television. Do not expect to find a parking space in the car park when there is a function on. If you are driving into York it is well worth making use of the free car parking near the city centre offered by the hotel. York Minster is well worth a visit.

Hotel and staff excellent. The stay was ruined by the sub-human, inconsiderate riff-raff masquerading as human beings in the next room. I had to move rooms at 12:30am because of the noise. The hotel did not cater for gluten-free diets. The room was a long way from reception, along about ten corridoors and numerous flights of stairs with no elevator, definitely a minus point. I was travelling alone.
