My stay at the George Hotel was excellent. The room was tidy and well presented and they staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I must recommend the food which we found to be of exceptional quality. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anybody planning a visit to York or the surrounding area

We stayed at The George at Easingwold in October 2012 for the first time. We were pleasantly suprised with the Hotel. An oldie, worldie pub whicg looked very cosy and inviting. Although the bedroom decoration with dated it was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. All you would want to set you up for a day of sightseeing. We decided to have our evening meal in the hotel, although there was a restaurant just across the road, and we were very glad we did. The food was first class. No trace of pub grub just excellent produce cooked very well. The proprietors were very nice as were all the staff. We would definately recommend this hotel and would return. It is ideal as a base for York and surrounding areas. The park and ride is a very well run service. We parked at the Rawcliffe which is just off the roundabout on the A19 just before you turn onto the A1237 for Easingwold, it is well signposted on the A19.
