I had a single room reserved, but when I asked for a "quiet room" upon check-in, they offered me a double in the back at the single rate. Wonderful hospitality, very nice room,and excellent breakfast, too!

The one thing that the website does not mention is that there is no elevator in the hotel. The reception is a steep staircase up and our room was a further steep staircase up. So if you are carrying heavyish baggage, or are not in your youth, you have a stiff climb up. Not the kind you look forward to at the end of a hectic touristy day. The wireless internet connection was off and on in the room we had. It was OK during the night but not good in the mornings. Aside from these two inconveniences, the hotel was lovely, the rooms were spacious, the breakfast was great, the location is quite central.

By trainFrom Würzburg central train station exit the station and pass the large Bahnhofsplatz square. Cross the street at the traffic light and enter into the Bahnhofstraße. Go straight until reaching the Haugerkirchplatz square. Turn left after the church, cross the street and take the Haugerkirchgasse which leads into the Semmelstraße. You will find the hotel on the left hand side.
By airplane
From Frankfurt am Main International Airport (FRA) take the ICE train towards Munich and exit at Würzburg central train station. Exit the station and pass the large Bahnhofsplatz square.
