My GPS was stollen from my Arm Rest Box, inside the car I left parked with the hotel Valet Parking!!!!! No signs of forced entry into the car, confirmed by Washington DC Police. The hotel is claiming NO LIABILITY! DO NOT RECOMMEND staying there and if you stay, WATCH YOUR GOODS!

Overall, if you like historic places, the hotel is the perfect choice as it has been beautifully furnished. The food in the restaurant was superb and I must say it served the best strong coffee I have ever had in the U.S. as normally it is dishwater weak! Most staff were very accomodating, with one or two a little grumpy, but not enough to matter. There are some refinements that need to be made to the listing though. The internet is not free. The gym has only one treadmill and does not offer much. There is no room service on the weekend. Breakfast items cost as follows: small cafetierre of coffee - $4 (very delicious and strong), orange juice - $4 (freshly squeezed and good), most expensive cooked item - eggs benedict $18, least expensive - eggs, and potatoes $12. Oh and if you want toast, $2.50. Having said that, all of the meals were well prepared and delicious. Dinner was equally good and tasty, but seemed to be less expensive than breakfast. Overall, I enjoyed my hotel experience though some items were incorrectly advertised and this should be fixed. The location was brilliant as it was near the metro station (a couple of easily walkable blocks) and the buses which took you to either Georgetown or Union Station or down to the mall. If you are used to big hotels with greater facilities, do not stay here. You will be disappointed. If you like hotels with character and style, then do stay here. Just watch what you eat!

We very much liked the hotel itself, it's a beautiful old historical building in a central location and the room was also nice and clean although nothing special. That we were charged too much for breakfast was a minor issue and got resolved quickly. But that we were charged the double room rate which was corrected at check-out but without being offered an apology whatsoever really annoyed us. This together with a not very warm welcome led us to the conclusion that the Morrison Clark could be a very good hotel if run by motivated and customer-oriented staff.

This is a really nice old Hotel, very conveniently placed for walking or public transport. the staff were all pleasant and some were really helpful, particularly a guy called C0dy. unfortunatly some staff had very poor English. The restaurant was very nicely done out. we only had one meal there but it was really well prepared and very good value with large portions. there was a nice little cafe round the corner where we had breakfast. There was a good. fridge (icebox) in the room but no safe. We had to go to reception to use the guest strongboxes, which was a bit inconvenient if several people were booking in or out. One critisism of the room was the light level, which was too low to read in bed. For us, this was a major inconvenience but I was told they are planning a refurbishment. We would happily stay ther again, and hope to do so in the future.

The hotel is indeed a lovely building - just as pictureque as in the photographs. The public rooms are very grand, with tall ceilings. But many of the bedrooms are in a modern extension at the back. Mine was quite ordinary, and was rather tired, but it was spacious and quiet. The staff on reception were very helpful.

Over priced. Made to feel like an unwelcome visitor in a private home. Not recommended.

The hotel charged my wife's credit card of 1.5 times the room price. I'm very surprised about this because she has never given the credit card number to the hotel and never signed any bill or authorization for the hotel. Moreover her name on her credit card wasn't communicated to the hotel. I would like to know how they did.

The staff was always helpful and courteous with inquiries I had, and the hotel has a very nice ambiance. The room service menu was a little limited, but the food was quite good. Within easy walking distance to many attractions and two different metro stops. Much better than a generic chain hotel. I'd recommend it. The neighborhood seemed to be pretty safe, but I was a little skittish to come back on my own after dark - though I tend to be over-paranoid about that in general, as a single female who travels alone often. I'd take a cab back after dinner and evening activities if I stayed there again.

When we arrived, they stated they were not that busy so they upgraded our room for no extra price! Very convenient to hop onto the Metro. We ate dinner on their lovely porch the first evening. Best Crab Cakes I have ever had!! I would stay here again.

A superb hotel at an extraordinary weekend rate. Two Historic Register houses, later used as the Soldiers and Sailors Home, have been renovated to a very high standard. What's modern (bathroom, climate control, sound-proofing) works, and what isn't modern (Carrera marble fireplace, antique armoire, high ceilings with crown moldings, overall spaciousness of room) is tastefully restored. The staff was up to the same high level -- friendly and helpful, without losing a beat in providing smooth, efficient service. Public areas are small, but they're not the point in this kind of setting. The Morrison Clark Inn is a real find. If you're visiting lobbyists in nearby Gucci Gulch, it's a great choice at expense account prices. At the weekend rate, it's an outright steal of a top-end hotel experience.
