Vulcano belongs to the Aeolian archipelago, measure 21 kms and is situated in the Southern area of the main island of Lipari.
The island is formed by the aggregation of three small mountains and volcanos: at the South the Aria mountain, an extinct volcano, at the centre the Gran Cratere or Fossa Grande or Cono di Vulcano mountain, still in activity with volcanic manifestation represented by several fumaroles, and at the North the smallest and lower Vulcanello.

We stayed one week on Vulcano at Hotel Orsa Maggiore. Great place, nice people, great staff, clean and tidy rooms.

Bof ! Petit déjeuner minable, serviettes de toilette d'un autre âge, pas beaucoup d'effort de la part de la direction (climatisation off, pas de serviette pour la piscine même après demande, quitter la chambre à 10h30 au lieu des 12h00 prévues sur la réservation...)
