We had originally intended to stay for 3 days, but we were warned by friends who stayed the previous week, that the standard had dropped, so we stayed only two days. We found the hotel to be generally very good, but we were slightly disappointed by the gourmet meal compared with others during our trip; in particular my wife's fish was a little dried out - not quite enough to be worth complaining. We were surprised to be woken by a tractor in the main drive at about 7.00am!

I cannot speak highly enough concerning this marvelous hotel. What a beautiful place, and the service was probably the best i have had in years. The restaurant had a wide variety of offerings, the wine cellar was complete, and the service was again, exceptional. We will be back next year.

BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY. MUST SEE/EAT DINING ROOM. WONDERFUL CHATEAU TO WALK AROUND OUTSIDE AND EXPLORE. THE PICTURES LED ME TO THINK THIS PLACE WAS IN THE COUNTRY BUT IT IS IN THE CENTER OF THE VILLAGE OF GILLY. IT IS MUCH EASIER TO FIND (ESPECIALLY IN THE DARK)ONCE YOU KNOW YOU NEED TO FIRST FIND THE VILLAGE OF GILLY. BREAKFAST IS A BIT EXPENSIVE (APPROX $30. EACH) AND GOOD BUT NOT OUTSTANDING.

205 miles from Paris, 12 miles from Dijon and Beaune, 2 miles from Vougeot, in the heart of the great Burgundy wine region.

By road :From Paris and Lyon: Motorway A6, then A31 - exit Nuits-St-Georges - direction Gilly-les-Cîteaux From Mulhouse: Motorway A36 till Dôle; then A39 towards Dijon, then onto the A 31 direction Beaune, exit Nuit-St-Georges From Nancy: Motorway A31, exit Nuits-St Georges. N74 between Vosne-Romanée and Gevrey-Chambertin.

By rail : 1 hour 40 minutes from Paris by TGV, Dijon station (12 miles). From Roissy airport (2 hour trip with just 2 links from Dijon in the morning, link with Roissy in the evening)

By air : Dijon-Longvic airport (9 miles). Nuits-St-Georges aerodrome. (3 miles).
