Hotel Foresteria Volterra - Volterra

Friendly staff; nice and refreshing room and furniture, generous breakfast with cold cuts, cheese, fresh fruits, nice coffee, etc. Hotel surrounding is quiet and peaceful. The only problem is the shower room a bit small with no space to put soap or shampoo. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay there very much.

Great modern place. If you want a characteristic place then this isn't the place. It's a brand new modern hotel. I'd return.

Contrary to reviews I read before leaving home - this hotel was excellent. The hotel staff spoke good English, the air conditioning was very efficient and there was a dining room serving a good evening meal. The only disappointment was that we were unable to walk into Volterra because it was much too hot (not the hotel's fault!)

Hotel quiet a 10-15 minute walk from the center of Volterra. Rooms are spacious and very well maintained. Very abundant breakfast. The very friendly staff gave us excellent advice on places to visit. Great parking. Excellent point of departure for exploring.

This new modern hotel was very nice, but you need a car to get there from Volterra. Our room looked out over the countryside. The bathroom was state-of-the-art. The personnel was very nice. Since it was low season, it was very inexpensive.

Services and welcoming are good. Rooms are really spacious but very hot, as long as there is no air conditioning.

Non c'e' l'aria condizionata e faceva molto caldo (ad agosto)

Bellissimo posto; zona molto tranquilla. unica pecca: caldo insopportabile, essendo il ventilatore in dotazione insufficiente a rinfrescare le camere del 3 piano. Sarebbe consigliabile l'introduzione di un condizionatore nelle camere.

Choice at restaurant poor. Room not clean. Good space of the room. Staff competent.

L'ambiente è un pò freddo e "ospedaliero".Molto gentili e disponibili gli addetti.

Ottimo albergo ma con la pecca della mancanza dell'aria condizionata, che in giornate molto calde è quasi insopportabile. Per il resto, colazione ottima, posto tranquillo, comodo per arrivare al centro storico. Consigliato.

It's a great location to visit Volterra, not far from the city but so quite.

I stayed in Volerra for two days and I had good times.

A basic modern, stopover-type hotel quite a long walk from the centre, but good value for a tourist town like this.

The Foresteria has large clean rooms and parking, but it is totally lacking in ambience.That would be ok if the rooms were comfortable.The worst unforgiveable thing about this hotel is that the mattress was a cheap foam model, and it did not give at all when you laid on it. It was like laying on a brick. The pillows, too, were rectangular and plank-like. I suffered a miserable night trying to get to sleep. Since a good night's sleep is paramount, I would rank this place as poor in that it didn't allow that possibility.

Miles from anywhere and hard to find, room unintimate and cold (unheated during cold end of September), breakfast basic - but cheap.

Payment advise a little confusing as credit cards were not accepted although debit cards were and it was lucky we had the cash.

Chambre et salle de bain spacieuse à l'extérieur de Volterra en pleine campagne. Endroit très calme s'il n'y avait pas des chiens qui aboyaient au loin durant la nuit et qui nous ont obligés à dormir la fenêtre fermée. Ne pas oublier que nous sommes dans un centre de réhabilitation et que le décor est assez impersonnel

Posto tranquillo. stanze spaziose, ma materassi a molle scomodi. frigo bar vuoto, ma bevande disponibili nella hall. colazione migliorabile. stanze ampie e nuove. con la macchina posisbilita' di avvicinarsi a Volterra in breve tempo.

This was a great find. We had kilometer walk into Volterra so it was ideally situated at a lesser cost than the hotels right in the city. We were able to enjoy a dinner out without the stresses of driving due to the hotel's proximity. The room was spacious with a balcony. Our only complaint was cold coffee at breakfast but that was replaced when we asked the staff. Would recommend to others and we would definitely return.

We found the establishment to be quite clinical, which was not surprising seeing as we discovered that it exists to accommodate relatives of and (perhaps) recovering patients from the hospital right next door! The service was friendly and not inhospitable, however the entire hotel is cold and unwelcoming and we endeavoured to spend as little time as possible in our room. The immediate surrounds are not well-maintained, although the quietness of the nearby vineyards and distance from the town centre we not unwelcome. All in all, we found the experience to fall rather short of what we expected from fine Tuscan surroundings.

I appreciated my stay in Foresteria auxilium vitae. However, communication with the staff was difficult as thay did not speak English, french or spanish as a second language. Room was very clean, but the promised view on tuscuany landscape was more a view on trees in the backyard. I got a call from reception at 10:30 pm , it woke me up. It's near the center of Volterra but walking to the center is not for everyone since volterra is on top of a hill the hotel is much lower than the center of the city. A swimming pool would be a nice addition to the hotel. Tucany is hot. I would say though that for the price, my overall opinion is positive.
