The best thing about our stay at the Mini Palace was the service. Not only did they advise and book (and then rebook!) a restaurant for us, but they also forwarded some belongoings we left behind. Very helpful. The hotel itself is vintage 70's and it shows. Room was fine but the bathroom, especially the shower, could do with renovation. Breakfast was non-memorable, even by Italian standards. Not in the centre of Viterbo, but not far away.

Near to the historical city centre (200 metres, through a quite trafficated street). Breakfast should be improved. Large garage (check in advance whether it is included or not in the price)

Our first visit to Viterbo. The hotel is convenient for walking to the old town. The medieval area is attractive and interesting--and a good place for dinner. Good recommendations from the hotel staff. Viterbo is off the beaten path and a good choice for last night before flying out of Rome, provided you have a car. Nice, modern hotel. Busy, somewhat noisy location. Large room.

The hotel is unfortunately located between 2 roads with trafic lights and consequently there is much noise. Otherwise, the surroundings would be ideal.

Un eccellente hotel con spazi comuni molto eleganti, belle camere ben attrezzate, possibilità di parcheggio al coperto. Sicuramente tornerò qui al mio prossimo giro in zona.

Trying to locate this hotel was a problem. Its web page has a "location" button, which simply produces a very small map of all of Viterbo, with no indication of where the hotel might fit in the map. I used mapquest to locate the hotel, and purchased a map of Viterbo outside the city as I entered. The hotel needs to supply driving directions and a useful map. Once found, the hotel was generally fine - great for the price. The room was a little on the small side, and it was the only one I encountered in Italy without a safe, but it was perfectly adequate.

Excellence is a rare commodity these days but Hotel Mini Palace is a truly excellent, reasonably-priced hotel. I cannot compliment the staff enough! Cristina, Paolo, Raniero, etc. ALL were extremely gracious, helpful, communicative, friendly. Language is not a problem. In fact, the staff's English is far better than my Italian! Bravissimo tutti!

Great location, just a short walk to historic district. Pleasant and helpful staff that gave us good driving directions and excellent restaurant recommendations. When we arrived we were given a key to a small but adequate triple room. Just as we were bringing our luggage into the room, the receptionist came running up with a key to a much larger room. We were pleasantly surprised! Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Viterbo!

The Mini-Palace is a very nice, modern hotel located near the Porta Romana entrance to historic Viterbo. It's an easy walk into the old city. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a balcony. The breakfast (included) is very good. Ample parking on site. The hotel is easy to find, if you are driving. The reception staff are very helpful, accommodating and gracious. I highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I were very pleased with this hotel. We had some trouble finding it, but once there it was in an excellent location. We will definitely return to this hotel.

We were surprised that the hotel did not differentiate between smoking and non-smoking rooms. We had to change the room when we arrived from a stinking one to one that smelled passable, but still had a smoke residue. Suggest that a couple of rooms be set aside. The odor made us keep the windows open, and having a street room on the second floor, we then had to cope with the noise from the street. Otherwise the location was very good. A very positive point is that the signage along the way was more than adequate so we found the hotel easily. Also a plus was the fact we could park in front while unloading and overnight so we could load up easily and early. This was espcially so because the garage--otherwise an appreciated ammenity--was a bit dark and forbidding.

I could not get a map from the website and had a lot of problems finding the hotel. The air conditioning in my room was poor so I had to have the window open, which was not a problem as it was a weekend, but had it been a weekday it might have been different due to the close proximity of a major road, otherwise the hotel was fine.

More than "a few steps" from the historic centre (15 minute walk). A 1970s built hotel, with 1970s decor, but beautifully upkept and makes the 70s seem stylish - almost impossible! An excellent breakfast, but very small bathroom and AC didn't work.

What a pleasant suprise this hotel was! We thought we were in for a standard hotel experience and were delighted with property. Quality of breakfast was excellent and the high class character of the hotel made for an excellent value. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

This hotel room was roomy and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and cheerful. The price was good. I have no negatives to say about our stay and I liked booking on line. It was most convenient. The town to Viterbo was difficult to get around in since there are few street names posted. It was a disappointing visit since few shops and restaurants were open during the two days we were there.

The air conditioning did not work at all in the rooms which made it impossible to sleep. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone
