The hotel and decor is looking tired and the rooms are in need of some modernisation. Although the hotel is rated 5 star, this is borderline and is not much better than the neighbouring Vila Gale Ampaleus, where I have also stayed.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights in the hotel and regret not having stayed more. The atmosphere was one of friendly efficiency largely because of the great staff. Accommodation was very good - well appointed rooms with sea or marina views. However in the case of our room sound travelled from the adjacent room via a locked interconnecting door betraying the earnest activities of the enthusiastic couple next door. So book a room with no such interconnection. Room service was excellent and the heated indoor pool was well managed and a pleasure to use. Food was good! - an understatement! Excellent choice at breakfast and service great.

How to reach Hotel Tivoli Marina Vilamoura

By car
From Lisbon, the west of Portugal and Spain: take the IP1/Via do Infante Highway towards Faro. At the Boliqueime/Vilamoura junction, exit the IP1 and follow directions to Vilamoura. In Vilamoura, turn right at the traffic lights and follow directions to the marina, where the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Hotel is located.

By airplane
From Faro Airport: upon leaving the airport, follow the directions to Portimão. After approx. 4 km/2.4 miles, follow the signs to IP1/Via do Infante Highway towards Portimão/Lisbon. Leave the IP1 Highway at the Boliqueime/Vilamoura exit, then follow the directions to Vilamoura. Entering Vilamoura, follow the signs to the marina, where the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Hotel is located.
