Hotel Puerta del Sol - Vigo

This is a very nice apartment in a very good location and excellent value for money. Our room was noisy at night but did not bother us as we live in a town centre and are used to noise, but if you like quiet, ask for an apartment away from the road. Very clean.

We stayed one night in downtown Vigo in a tiny, noisy double room at Puerta del Sol in October 2010. The rate was 58 Euro with no breakfast available, no public areas at all at the hotel and no parking available. The street noise kept up until morning. The reception clerk had recommended a nearby restaurant, "El Capitan", where we had a very nice meal and a jolly time, but we had made the mistake of accepting the restaurant owner's recommendations for fish and wine without determining the price beforehand. In the end we were overcharged by about 50% for the dinner. We knew something was up when the mood of the restaurant staff suddenly changed from friendly and jovial to quiet and distant as the check was delivered to our table. We would caution that when you tell a restaurant, etc. that they were recommended by the hotel, there is going to be a kickback involved and you will pay for it. Order from the menu or determine the prices ahead of ordering your meal. I would not return to Puerta del Sol or to Vigo.

The rooms interior was very nicely designed - especially the shower was a delight. Located in the middle of the city guests should not expect absence of noise.

A lot of noise

For our 2 day stay we chose one of the appartments just across the road from the main hotel. Although situated above a main road the traffic noise was minimal at any time of day. We were delighted with our choice as the larger room and little kitchen was perfect and would have suited an even longer stay. Our only negative comment regards parking. Very difficult. But it was Vigo afterall!

Excellent hotel for its price.

We found the hotel immaclate and spotlessly clean. Although little English is spoken the staff were friendly and very helpful. The location is superb next to the old town with its' bars and reastaurants. The square an excellent meeting place for coffee or a drink. Busses from here to all over the city. Thoroughly recommened.

No real services in this hotel. As it is in the down town, there is no easy car parking. The lack of breakfast necessits to find a cafe-bar

I stayed on a weekend and the room I stayed was very noisy also there is no parking and not clearly stated were to park if driving - on the good side location was central and close to all shopping area, staff was friendly and helpful.

Hotel was a positive, pleasant surprise.

Very confortable

Reception area is small. The appartments are not in same building, which is not informed in the web page. But the quality of the appartments is very good as well as service. WE shall be pleased tocome back to sama appartments.
