I've expected more from a 4-star hotel. The staff are welcoming and capable , but it's way to much to give for that 4-star rating. No internet in the rooms, no leisure facilities and the door's lock are simply some steam-punk madness!

This hotel is very convenient to West Bahnhof station and the metro. The breakfast is provided by a restaurant on the corner. For 8 euros per person, the breakfast buffet was outstanding. The room was spacious and comfortable. Having Internet access in the room would make a world of difference in a hotel of this caliber. There is no really good spot in the lobby for working on a laptop, even a small one. Other than that, everything was great. We would stay here again.

Good location as out of noisier center but easy walk to downtown, ideally to reach from airport or west train station. Large warm and spotlessly clean room with beautiful view into autumn horse chestnut tree garden.

The hotel is VERY spacious and very clean. Almost everything is excellent except for the fact that though the location is excellent, during the night also seems to be filled with friendly prostitutes in every single corner of the neighbourhood. Not something that would matter to most young traverlers ;) but you may want to take it into account.

Vienna is a beautiful city and the hotel is ideally located for travelling to all the tourist attractions. The staff were excellent, but the rooms were very big and sterile. A few added touches, such as tissues on the night stand, or a rug on the floor would have made it more welcoming.

Hotel in an area which is not all that pretty. Short walk from Westbahnhof so the city's attractions are accessible. The rooms are HUGE, but not necessarily pretty or homely. Staff service was competent without being amazing. A good hotel for price and bare essentials, but nothing to get excited about.

Hotel was conveniently located for me and my Viennese friends had no trouble finding it. Nice Konditerei opposite as alternative to breakfast in the restaurant of the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. One problem could be lots of steps both getting in to the hotel and getting around it - I could manage as luggage light but some people had problems. This should be mentioned on the web page.

The room was very spacious with a large bathroom. When walking on the timber parquet flooring in the room it was very noisy. The quality and range of the breakfast (at an extra cost) was very good. The hotel was reasonably close to the Wesbahnhof Railway Station. The description of access from the Railway Station to the hotel could be improved, by being more specific on directions from the railway station and the number of tram stops from the Railway Sation (ie 2 stops)

Excellent accommodation and price - close to most everything we wanted to see. One criticism - don't recommend WienerWald as a place to eat - it is mediocre, and there are other places close by that offer better meals and service.

One recptionist very helpful, one not. Had to ask 3 times for something in my room to be rectified. Hotel restaurant a bit grim but good place for breakfast right across the road. One really good restaurant nearby but, walking away from the Westbahnhof to get there, had to walk past many prostitutes

Staff was friendly and competent, though we requested little. Location near subway/tram convenient, Room spacious and clean but incredibly NOISY and hot. Would never stay on street side again, especially not on 1st (2nd) floor. Not especially sensitive to that, but this was unbeliebably noisy -- jackhammers at 7am on Saturday. Skip the breakfast -- offerings s0-so, service downright RUDE -- you can do better elsewhere.

We were at the Tourotel Mariahilf for one night. The room was clean and the hotel was cute overall but it was very basic. The rooms reminded me of a high-end hostel, but Vienna is an expensive city, so this hotel was quite affordable. The only main problem was that it wasn't 100m from the train station as the description indicated. The hotel was about 500-600m from the train station. The location is good as it is close to the train station, but you will need to take public transit to visit downtown Vienna.

I chose this hotel because the website said it had internet access in every room. This was supposedly the case, but the hotel staff did not know how to connect to the internet from the room. Then they told me I could log on to wireless from the hotel lobby- this was not possible. I ended up using a small coin operated internet terminal from the hotel lobby, which kept crashing. The staff were did not come up with any solution to this situation.

This is a great hotel! 6 blocks or so to the West Bahnhof. There is a street car stop within the block that can get you into to Stephans in 25 minutes by street car and 10 by U-bahn. I had a double room facing the courtyard (Room 137). It was beautiful, big, and quiet. From the front desk to housekeeping, all of the hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The only 2 minor drawbacks: breakfast is not included (but there is a great bakery across the street...for 12 euro your are set for 3 people) and there there is a nice, albeit small, elevator, but once on the floor itself, there is one flight of 4-5 steps, but that's old buidlings. This hotel was a great find!

Located close to the Westbanhof station, this hotel was convenient for our arrival, departure, and visit to the near-by Schonnbrunn Palace. However, the rooms were spacious but empty and the bathroom very simple. The staff was not very helpful and, somewhat surprisingly, were unable to honor a request for extra pillows. Convient and clean but by no means perfect.

Pretty nice place. Yard rooms are quiet and comfortable. Note there is no internet in rooms, but if you are lucky, you can find unsecured hotspot around. Staff very friendly and helpful. Three options of breakfest: 1. outside in external restaurant (for 3 and 5 EUR) - not recommended by me 2. internal (for 9 EUR) - quite good but if you stay no longer then week ;-) There is lot of restaurants around offering breakfest. Public transport: U3 and U6 subway station in distance of 200m.

Hotel was clean, employees friendly. My particular room (215) had a view into an alley way with windows directly across so you needed to keep the curtains closed for privacy. Floors in room were very squeaky. Interesting approach to soap and shampoo through wall mounted squeeze dispensers. Overall stay was good.

Staff spoke English well, and it was just a few blocks from the Westbanhof, about 5 minutes or so walking. Don't follow the directions on Venere. Just leave from the train station, go west, and you can't miss it. Breakfast was 9 euros, but WORTH IT. It was the best display of food that I had in ALL of Europe. Don't miss it.

This is a very nice hotel. The rooms were very spacious with large windows. Our room was located on teh courtyard which gave a very nice view. The hotel is only a few bloacks away from the Westbahnhof train station that gives access to the whole city. There are lots of shops and bars and cafe's in the area. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and we recommend the hotel to everyone. It combines very good quality with very good value.

Ratings are heavily influenced by the location and kind of room. The spaciousness of rooms can vary to a great extent. The room that had been reserved for me and my girlfriend was not a real double/twin one (the bed was a king size SINGLE bed, as a matter of fact)!!! However, the receptionists were very kind, and they changed our room without any surcharge. The second one was FANTASTIC (very large). Bathrooms are nice and spacious. Rooms seems to be very well cleaned. Most rooms are very, very quiet (no noise), since they are located in the internal court or in the back side of the building (far from the street). The underground station (Westbanhof) is not so close to the hotel as reported on the web-page (about 8-10 minutes walking). Very good quality/price ratio, anyway.

Although the hotel was very convenient to Westbanhof U-Bahn station and the breakfasts were excellent we were not entirely satisfied. The reception area was extremly smokey and the male staff in particular were off-hand and at times rude. Being greeted by a cigarette smoking youth who would not turn down the loud heavy metal music was not our idea of a pleasant way to begin a restful break in Vienna.

The room was very comfortable, the continental breakfast was very complete with hot and cold items available. An information packet(tours;etc) was provided at check-in and the concierge was helpful in making arrangements. We had a room facing the street, which is the reason we downgraded for noise level- a room on the courtyard would have been more quiet, but we had a little balcony which was very nice.
