I was alone and came to Vienna for international congress. All I need was quitness at nights (two of them I spend in room with windows to the street with all the night traffic with cars and trams. After changing a room to one with windows to yard it was OK. Boys and girls on the reception were very helpful.

The hotel name suggests proximity to one of the sights. However 900 m is no fun for walking at freezing temperatures hence "in-town" does not apply that much for the winter time. Other than this the place is fine.

On a very good location (walking distance to Opera house, main shopping street, city centre) this is a comfort small hotel ideal for a vacation. Excellent breakfast with great offer of meals. We had a spacious family room with a very big bathroom. Employees were very friendly. Only one remark: unfortunatelly we were punished for leaving our car without a parking card on saturday mornig in front of the hotel. We just didn't notice a sign that you have to pay for parking even on the saturday morning (although in the 99% of Vienna streets parking is free of charge on saturdays). Strange is that the hotel employees were also uninformed about this regulation.

I highly recommend this hotel and would go back again any time. We had a spacious quad room with very good sized 1.5 bath. The breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit, different breads and pastries, and more. But most of all the lady who was at the front desk in the mornings was extremely helpful. We arrived about 9:30 and she checked us in right away, afterwards, she spent quite a bit of giving us information and directions very patiently. On the last day I had trouble with my train tickets. She called the ticket center couple of times for me and finally she talked to them on my behalf. She was the best and most helpful hotel staff I have ever encountered. (The only not so positive thing I could say about this hotel is that the man working in the afternoons was not that cheerful or helpful.) The hotel was few minutes to the center/opera house by the tram that stops frequently very close to the hotel. We were glad we did not pay more for hotels in the center. Very safe for walking late at night.

Great starting point for exploring vienna. junior suites are actually rooms with small-ish hallway, so not much of a suite. free internet at the reception, pricey if you want to log on in the room. great deal for the price.

Nice, comfortable room, good breakfast - good value for the price. But desk manager was odd. For instance, conditions on the reservation print-out explicitly included free wifi at the hotel lobby level. This was explicitly denied. When I looked for the print-out, I realized I had left it at the desk, but upon returning, was told that it wasn't there. Next morning, as we checked out near 12 noon (limit as explicitly noted on the print-out) we were chastised for being an hour late for check-out. Small things, and no charges added - however, it was deeply annoying.

Excellent hotel, despite the slightly odd name! We were upgraded from a double room to a suite which was very spacious and very clean. Hotel were accommodating with our requirements, and helpful in response to our questions. Breakfast buffet was superb. Location is excellent and the underground is just 5 minutes away. Couldn't really ask for any more in a hotel that would normally be classed 'budget' at the prices charged - no complaints at all.

The hotel has great transport connections but that does mean that there are trams running along the road - which makes the rooms facing the street pretty noisy with the windows open. Not a problem in winter, but some may find this an issue in summer (if so, ask for a room at the back)

Hotel is pretty basic but is clean, offers great breakfast (which is included in the price of the room) and is only 15 min walking distance from the Opera House. Great deal for someone who is in Vienna to enjoy the city and not to spend much time in the hotel. The only warning for single travelers – most of the single rooms are facing the street so you will hear the traffic noise. But it is not bad enough that you will not be able to sleep. The staff is friendly and helpful.

This hotel is in a great location - 10 min. walk to almost all major sites (City Center, Naschmarkt, Belvedere). I really liked this hotel because it felt like it was located in a part of the city where people really live - not tourists. There are many restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Our room had a mini-kitchen with a microwave, fridge, sink and dishes (very nice!). The room was quite comfortable and the staff was top notch - really, have not met such wonderful people in a hotel in so long. The only negative was that even though our room was non-smoking, we could at times still smell smoke. Since this is Vienna, I doubt that we could have found a smoke free facility anywhere in the city.

The hotel is very good. We got a room which was a much bigger than we ordered but for the same price. The breakfast was amazing! At the reception there was a russian speaking women (Ivanova Marianna -- looks like russian name) and she could talk with us using our native language but she didn't. We decided to give her the tips if she tell us something in Russian just as a sign of friendliness but she didn't. It is a pity that it shouldn't have happened because she knew that we are Russians. :-) By the way, the hotel is very good! I would like to stay at this hotel again.

The value for price at this hotel was excellent -- our room, though a bit small, was immaculate and welcoming. Windows faced inward, so it was quiet at night, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was ample and varied -- the only possible negative would be the location, which is slightly out of the central Ringstrasse area. A metro stop is nearby, however, and the city is easily accessible from there; the neighborhood seems quite safe, so it wasn't a problem coming back later at night. Highly recommended stay!

We are two italians girls. We stayed in Wien for 6days and tha accomodation in the hotel was very good as the breakfast. A lot of various things to eat from sweet to salad, reception always open for any necessity. The Hotel was not far from metro station and tram stop (more close to tram stop). A big bathroom with all you need. Things not so good were only: one wardrobe very small in the whole room and only one ventilator that was not functioning. People in reception don't speak italian at all, you have to speak english. On the whole, an excellent relationship between price/quality, we'll certainly come back.

The hotel is very well-situated (10 minutes from the Opera) but extemely noisy (despite double glazing)when your room is on the street side. We were outclassed and given the Royal suite (€ 450 and paid € 88 for it !!) The room is spacious and very comfortable but so noisy we could not sleep !!! The hotel is more a 3 stars in France than a 4 stars according to our standards. Breakfast is very good.

First time to Vienna traveling with three children. The room configuration was really good - although we were all in one room it was divided so that we had seperate sleeping areas. The hotel also kindly put in another bed for our third child. The location requires about a 15 minute walk to the museum district but we enjoyed the journey by foot. The breakfast provided was extremely good as well. Happy to recommend this hotel - good standard and value.

The location is good, close to subway. the room is clean and the bathroom is well decorated, the shower is good and comfortable. the only thing is the heat did not work. i went downstairs to the guy at the front desk he came up and played with the heater. but after 15 minutes, it still did not work. i went to him again, he said he could call the technician and ask him, then he told me the technician's phone was off. then he said he just worked at the front desk, if the heat didn't work, he could do nothing about it... that really made me mad.

We had a lovely, spacious room (Junior Suite) that was clean, relatively modern and sunny. Most of the personnel was very friendly and got out of their way to help us.

We only stayed 1 night in a 3 persons bedroom, just for 1 evening in the Oper. This was perfect stay. We did not use so much the room, if we would have stayed longer, we would have used the mini kitchen ! It was quiet, perfectly clean. We could leave our luggage for free at the reception for the last day. The breakfast was good and open late enough on Sunday morning, to have the time to rest a little !

I was very impressed by this excellent hotel. After being overcharged for many dilapidated hotels in Europe, I found this hotel to be wonderful and very affordable. The rooms seemed brand new and everything (carpets, bathroom fixtures, bedding) was in great shape and very clean. The staff were very helpful and gave me a double room away from the street even though I booked a single. Breakfast was fresh, healthy and well-stocked (fresh figs were a real treat!). The location is really nice, in a friendly area with great Asian restaurants, interesting shops and quite a few supermarkets - it was charming but not overly touristy. The naschmarket is nearby which has fabulous food. You can walk everywhere from this hotel, though there is a subway stop 5 minutes away. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vienna, it really made my stay.

We (a young couple) stayed 3 nights. Room number 44. Perfect balance money-quality (50 euros per person per night in a huge double-room, a suite with small kitchen, but the price listed on the room door was much higher - maybe ours was a weekend offer). Walking distance to downtown. Very close to the Naschmarkt (fleamarket) and to Karlsplatz. Very small public area inside the Hotel, but we wouldn't have used it anyhow. Tram passes in front of the Hotel but windows block any noise, at least on the 4th floor. If you spare some hours, go to Bratislav, it takes less than 1 hour and you get another "European" capital. Breakfast is typical continental one, good variety (well, it is a 4 stars Hotel) and last till 11a.m. (that's important, if you are on holiday).

We highly recommend this hotel. We had a two room suite for our family of four. There was plenty of room. The only small issue was that one bedroom had no windows and so got a little stuffy in the summer heat. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were kept spotlessly clean, the breakfast was great, and the location was an easy walk to most of the major sites and very close to the metro making it east to get to those that were farther away.

A good value for the money. Hotel was under renovation when we stayed so the demolition crew at 6AM was a little loud but that can't be helped. Location was convenient; a 20 minute walk to Sudbanhof or ohter direction to the center or a few blocks to trams and subway. Staff was helpful and courtesous although I was a little disappointed when they booked a 7AM day trip for us to Bratislava and then refused us access to "7AM" breakfast at 6:50 even though everything was ready (the matron apologized later implying she wasn't informed of the circumstances). A good "local's" brew pub with excellent food (and beer) just around the corner. The 72 hour Vienna Card for 18Euro was a bargain and included unlimited public transit as well as discounts on most tourist attractions. I've been to Vienna several times and this was one of the better hotels I've found for the money.

We loved this hotel a lot. The location is perfect with a suitable walking distance from the city center. The breakfast was excellent, everything was very tasty and fresh. The only negatif point about the breakfast was, that everything was continuously running out and we had to wait either for bread or for omelette. Our and our friends' junior-suite was clean and spacious, but I guess, that there is no standard rooms in this hotel and every room calls a "suite". We were a little bit disappointed about the fact, that our towels haven't been changed at all. We left them on the bathroom's floor and the cleaning lady removed them back every time. However these small things didn't buggered up our vacation and our overall stay in this hotel was very pleasant. The staff is also very helpful and friendly.

Suite 900 was a terrific bargain. I stayed in a Jr Suite that I found to be spacious and comfortable. Breakfast in their first floor lounge was enjoyable and of high quality - food was fresh and plentiful. Finally - the hotel is indeed a 10 - 15 minute walk straight down Weidner Haupstrasser to the Inner Stadt and Vienna's main attractions - St.Stephensdom, the Hofburg Palace, etc. I would definitely stay at the Suite 900 again!!

This was our second stay in this hotel, and we still recommend it warmly. The suite we got for the price of a junior suite was excellent. Unfortunatly, the back yard was a construction site, and will remain so till July (2007), we were told. The breakfast was still not 100% up to four-star standard, but the staff worked hard to fulfill all our wishes (and succeeded). All persons in the staff, from the receptionists to the room attendants, were very friendly and service-minded. We are very satisfied with the hotel and will stay there again on future visits to Vienna.

I very much enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Both the room and the bathroom were good sized and very clean. The hotel is located in a good area, 1 minute walking from a tram stop and 5 minutes walking from the Taubstummengasse tube station (on line 1). I stayed 6 nights and payed 82 Euros / night for the room, which I think was a good deal considering the prices of other simmilar hotels in Vienna at the time of my visit. The free-to-use computer with Internet connection in the Reception area was also very handy. Recommended.

This small hotel was great. After my transatlantic flight and a delay in frankfurt I arrived in Vienna to discover 10/26 a national holiday (who new). banks and stores closed upon arriving at this excellent little hotel desperate for an atm I was not only welcomed by the clerk but she went right to work granting me early check in insisting that I avail myself to the wonderful breakfast (offered of course to guest of the PREVIOUS evening). directing me to a nearby atm and assuring me that most tourist sites were in fact open (I was on a 10 day visit to austria and germany but only in vienna for 24 hours. to sum up I could not have been made more welcome. the room and bath while european size (we yanks love large) were pleasant and very clean my room overlooked a main road with trams running, yet even with an open window it was quiet and sunny inthis october warm spell the afore mentioned breakfast room and cafe were outstanding best breakfast of my three country trip and i received as mentioned two breakfast even thou staying just one night thanks again,i rate it a 10 for clan ,10 for staff clerks .housekeeping and breakfast cafe, while not in inner city the trams make it convient and the neighborhood was residential upscale safe with good restaurants and easy subway access felt like i was back in my former n.y east side neighborhood. Ihave already recomended this hotel (and another Venere selection in Munich) to friends heading to europe in the spring I would stay here again in a heartbeat ,a 10 . paul sheehan

This is a very conveniently located hotel. That has very friendly and polite staff, but as I found, most of the Austrian people that I met were extremely polite. The hotel provides an excellent breakfast (good choice of foods) and the breakfast time is great also (7.00 until 11.00). The lady that greeted us on arrival couldn't have been more helpful, giving us a map of Vienna and showing us the best places to visit. This is absolutely one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Europe.

An excellent hotel at the price, and very conveniently located just outside the main part of the city centre. Highly Recommended - we spent a month travelling around central Europe and this was one of the most comfortable stays we had.

The negative part: The street is quite noisy and breakfast is not 100% four-star-standard. The positive part: Windows are well insulated, breakfast is very good, the location is near to perfect, the staff helpfull and competent, the room (junior suite) clean and spacious and included a bath tub. What more can you expect? We highly recommend this place.

There's a lot of noise in the rooms on the street because of the tramways and the trains become to pass at 6.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m..

Hotel is on a noisy street, but that's the price you pay for a good location. Decent double glazing keeps all the noise out. Good value, nice suite, and the buffet breakfast was good. The suite we had was clean and looked very new.

Booked Junior Suite (room 15)to celebrate New Year. Location is just outside the city center but only 2 stops with the Tramway (60 or 62) will take you to Karlsplatz where the subway will take you throughout the entire city. Spacious accomodation, clean, quiet (n.b. room 15 not located on streetside), decent breakfast, free internet facility in the lobby, friendly staff and, although not exactly cheap, good value for money.

Hotel was situated only 7 mins walking distance from town...beside a busy road which had traffic day and night so could be noisy (bring ear plugs). While a kettle was available for tea making, no tea, coffee or milk were provided. Junior suite was very nice size, beds extremely comfortable. Breakfast provided was of great variety. Breakfast Staff competent, but very stiff (no smiles). Reception staff very friendly and tried their best to answer all my queries.

Nice suite in new hotel. Staff very helpful and efficient, breakfast very good in a good breakfast room. Excellent location, in part due to very frequent public tram-service. We can gladly recommend this hotel!
