Good choice if you want to be away from old town but still within walking distance. It's a bit of a walk in the winter. Close to shopping, bars and restaurants with a local feel but limited effective non smoking areas. Hotel charges for wifi in the rooms - this is annoying and can add up. Wifi should be free - when hotels charge - it feels like gouging - especially when rates went to €210 from €80 at new year's. This was not a €200 hotel.

The bathroom was dirty and the room could use some maintenance. Extremely poor service at the front desk, and at times directly rude. We asked for a recommodation to a spanish restaurant and they sent us to a mexican.

Stayed on double room. Was very spacious. Actually there was another separate room for luggage and other items. Bathroom also very spacious and included separately bath and shower corner. I travelled with family (incl small child).

The location is about 15 minutes' walk to central attractions. The nearest underground is around 8 minutes' walk, although there is a bus stop nearer. The room was very good, as was the breakfast. The staff were very helful in arranging a transfer from the airport to the hotel. We paid a supplement to have access to the (small) gym, bathrobes, slippers, the contents of the mini bar and a plate of fresh fruit on arrival. Following the first night we reported that the bathrobes and slippers had not been provided. Although we saw the Receptionist make a written note of the matter, it was never rectified. Overall, the hotel is good value (for Vienna) and we intend going back at a future date.

Our room was in the new wing and barely 6 months old. The layout is a modern loft style. Breakfast included offered a nice variety of choices. The immediate surrounding area is not upscale but we never felt unsafe. Subway stop Burggasse is 5 minutes walk away. Cab ride to Westbahnhof is 7 Euros. A very nice room in a nice hotel for 85 euros a night in September.

Very good location, nice personnel and nice building. But although the room was overall clean, i would have expected a more thorough and detailed cleaning from a four star hotel and for such a price. Nevertheless, i would recommend this hotel to a friend.

Nice place, friendly staff, very happy with the accommodation. Only concern was that it isn't in the centre so we spend a fair bit of time on tha admittedly excellent U-bahn (metro). Otherwise definitely recommended.

I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms are very nice, in modern style. The breakfast buffet was very good. It's close to the city center, but very quiet.

A very lovely, clean and convenient hotel, in a great neighborhood only a 15-20 minute walk to the Museumsquartier/Hofburg, etc. And tons of great restaurants and bars close by to see the real Vienna. Great price, good service, great breakfast. I would readily return.

Find it strange to encounter a hotel that doesn't provide internet in rooms on the second and higher level(there a 6 levels!) parking was a farce. couldn't use the hotelparking (height)was redirected to another close by parking, were charged same dayfee as if using the hotelcarpark, 52 euro. Encountered trouble getting the car out after four days with the vouchers provided by the hotel. In the end just payed in the garage, only 18! euro. Was refunded by the hotel, but think this is bad practise!! so be aware.

First of all this is NOT a 4 stars hotel. It might be qualified as a good (not very good) 3 stars. We were there for New Year and the heating in the room was not working during the whole 4 days stay. The first night was awful because of that, than we have used the floor heating in the bathroom to heat the room too. The surroundings are of low interest and the undergound station is 15 min far. Bottomline: I would not recommend it to a friend.

We stayed for four nights in August 07. Reception staff was very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was nice and the rooms were comfortable, clean and modern. It's a bit out of the city centre but the area is really quiet. We definitely recommend this hotel.

They need to improve their breakfast service, the room is so crowded that it is very hard to find a table (although the selection and quality is great). The crowded breakfast room makes the whole experience unpleasant. One idea might be to offer breakfast as an extra and charge less for people who do not eat breakfast.

The directions to the hotel are terrible on the hotel web site. The hotel location is not as close to the citz center as I would like...it is a long walk. You will see a lot of comments about how good the breakfast at this hotel is. It is even better than people say. The staff is very friendly as well.

I strongly recommend the Am Schottenfeld, however with caveats. Overall I found the desk staff to be simply "not friendly" and possibly not even "hotel management competent." While they were not downright rude, there clearly wasn't an effort to exceed any expectations by any means. The hotel itself was accomodating, well-enough situated, modern, and "cozy". Breakfast was for the most part thorough, and exceeded expectations by far. I've grown to expect "included breakfasts" to be the bare minimum, however the Am Schottenfeld's gone the extra mile with the works. The desk staff was the only disappointment. The biggest surprise being when I returned to claim my bags and was shown into the management office to simply "pick out whatever" (was mine). After picking out my articles and leaving without showing any proof of ownership (or that I even stayed at the hotel) I was glad I had kept my laptop on me for the day.

The rooms are really beautiful and the game of lights in all the hotel are faboulos. The price is honest and the location is near the center of the city. For young people is a very nice place!

I don't like at all the feedback section of your web-site. I took the time to answer the questions that were relevant for my stay (which was quite pleasant) but your machine keeps asking me to answer all questions otherwise the time spent will be lost. Even though I am not able to answer them since I have not been using all services etc. And at the question about "search of your chosen property" even though I do say that I found my hotel at once, I have to answer to the question " If you visited the venere.com website more than once to make this reservation, did you always use the same browser and the same computer ?" Very annoying KPA

A fabulous hotel, with excellent rooms and helpful reception staff. The breakfast was very good. Although the hotel is away from the centre of Vienna there is plenty of public transport available to get there. A good choice with value for money, we would stay again and look for hotels in the same group in other locations we intend to visit.

Great, modern hotel. It is a little far from the center, but close to subway/tram stops. The rooms are very modern with very nice bathrooms. The staff was very accomodating, and the price was right.

The only complaint I have is that me intial booking was cancelled 5 days before the scheduled date. I believe this was a one off incident. Hotel is very modern but also very tasteful mainly German speaking guests whilst we were staying there but this made it more appealing. Good location within 5 minute walk of U6 and then one stop to U3.

The hotel was very good As was the breakfast. However your website quoted us a price 62 euros cheaper than we were charged by the hotel. This is my only criticism As we had a very pleasant stay. Thankyou.
