During my latest business trip I had the pleasure of staying at the Kaiserin Elizabeth. Unfortunately it was only one night but I will certainly be back for pleasure. Normally, I tend to choose global hotel names with spa services (which I never have time to use) when on business. This time I wanted something more traditional Austrian and I certainly got it. From the time I walked into the hotel the service was impeccable. I was greeted immediately with no line at the front desk. I was asked if I wanted my car parked for me (yes, car not necessary in this location at all. Please take note the car park is 35 euro a night to be paid cash to the driver upon return. Unfortunately I was not aware of this). After a quick check in I was escorted to my room (a single that was small, yet spacious with wonderful down pillows and duvet) and then 2 steps later I was in the heart of downtown Vienna. The location is the best EVER! Stephansdom is around the corner. Prada is on the small street 3 buildings away from the hotel. Within a few blocks there a lovely restaurants. My new favorite restaurant of all time is now one of them, Tian. Tian is an organic, vegetarian restaurant. Don't let the veggie part scare you away. Tian is a fabulous event. Even the most die hard meat eaters won't miss meat for the evening. The next morning a delicious breakfast came with the very affordable room rate (Kaiserschmarn included). I ordered the car prior to breakfast and it was waiting for me when I finished. The lovely gentleman at the front desk paid for the car so I could take my time and walk across the street to get the money needed out of the ATM. I drove away sorry I didn't at least get to stay 2 nights. I will be back for sure and when avaiable will only stay at the Kaiserin Elizabeth in Vienna.

Immaculate hotel, though expensive and no bar. The night porter looked shocked when we asked if there was an open bar when we returned at 10.45pm (he actually harrumphed), and was obviously distainful when we didn't immediately accept his offer of an airport taxi. Day reception staff were however excellent, helpful and friendly.

Two centuries ago the building was a traditional viennese palais converted, 150 years ago to a hotel. The location is excellent close to St Stephen's and the main shopping areas. Breakfast was excellent. I am not giving the highest marks to this hotel for the following reasons: 1) The hotel is not equipped with single beds. Although the mattresses are separeted, if you are travelling with a business associate and staying in the same room you must share the bed. 2) We have asked a very short extension on our stay (we would like to leave at one o'clock in the afternoon instead of 12) and the guy at the reception said that was impossible, because the room “was sold”. Eventually we paid extra 90 Euros(!!!) to stay until 4 o'clock and there was no problem anymore. His attitude was apalling.

Our main concern was location... this is about as central as you can get. We walked everywhere except for Schonbrunn and Grinzig. As for the interiors, to be honest, based on their own website (not Venere) and the price, I was expecting something more luxurious. Our room, 303, could use some redecorating or at least a freshening up. The main public area was not very appealing. The breakfast spread was pretty good, though for some reason they had either eggs or sausage/bacon everyday but never both the same day. Service from the desk and breakfast room was very friendly and helpful. We used the hotel's airport pick-up service which is a bit expensive (50 euros with tip) but worry-free.

This hotel offers an excellent location within Vienna. You can reach any part of the city using the U-bahn, which is basically "around the corner" from the hotel. The staff were helpful, for the most part, but ... . I'm not sure if the fact that I was a single female traveling alone affected the information that I received with respect to travel and attractions, but I was not very impressed with the staff's helpfulness in that regard. Shortly after arrival, I asked directions to a particular venue. I was told "It's not near here." When pressed, I was told that it was a 20-minute taxi ride (taxis are relatively expensive in Vienna). When I specifically asked about the U-bahn, I FINALLY got directions for how to get to the venue using the U-bahn (it was quite simple--a couple of stops). The staff DID come up with the information eventually, but I had to be fairly insistent about getting it. Other than this issue, the facility itself is beautiful and all other forms of service were quite good.

Hello , all I can say is that everything was as expected: a lot of hospitality, quietness, very good service. The rooms were clean ans spacious (not too much, but enough for two adults and two children!). And the location is perfect, just a few meters from Stephansdom and in the middle of Graben and Kaerntner strasse. I don´t know when we will return to Wien, but at that moment, we´ll check for Kaiserin Elisabeth first.

Outstanding location, easy walk to "The Ring", museums, restaurants, and shopping. The other guests were pleasant, from around the world. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Beautiful salon on the erdgeschoss. My single room was fabulous-view over the quaint street (quiet too) lovely large bath/shower, separate WC and bidet!!!

On the first morning, I received a nasty electric shock from one of the sockets in the room. I had to sit down on the bed for a while after it happened. I had just been plugging in a standard international adapter. The socket exploded and blackened the wall in the process. I subsequently used the adaptor in another socket with the advice of a hotel caretaker without any problem - so there was nothing wrong with the adaptor. The hotel staff didn't even ask if I was OK or if I wasnted to see a doctor. I could have been electrocuted. They still charged me the full bill. The hotel was undergoing renovations while I was staying there. Aside from this, the staff were friendly generally and assuming they solve their electrical problems I would probably stay at this hotel again.

Kaiserin Elisabeth is a charming, modern hotel in the heart of Vienna, steps away from Stephensdom/platz and the main attractions/dining and shopping areas. The service was great, rooms spacious and immaculate, and added bonuses were the quaint and comfortable bar/lounge area and fabulous breakfast included in the price (which by the way was only 109 Euros - and amazing deal). Perfect location in Vienna - 1/2 block from the main pedestrian walking area and St. Stephens plaza. Some of the front desk staff, who also served as consierge, were excellent, some were a bit flip but all in all a friendly, welcoming place. Rooms are large and quiet except when there is a heat wave, as we experienced, and the windows had to be left open as the air conditioning was inadequate. Breakfasts are excellent and guests are presented with wide range of food choices including hot food. The management arranged private tours, got us opera tickets to a sold out performance and suggested excellent, if expensive places to eat. This small intimate hotel is a really fine gem. Not an especially good place for kids as the public areas are small.

We chose to stay in a centrally located, good quality hotel during our first nights in Austria due to the "walk friendly" nature of the Vienna and for a more luxurious change in time zones from Canada. It proved to be an excellent choice as the rooms are first rate, the facilities are all very well maintained, the staff was very polite and helpful and the breakfast eating area and food was superb. Location in city center could not have better. Is within easy walking distance of many major attractions. Less than city block to underground trains. Bit pricey, but location makes up for it. No street noise can be heard in the rooms. Desk staff professional, but not particularly friendly. Dining room staff good.
