How to get there cheapest?: From the airport take the Train to City (15mins 9 euro) and from there use the U4 metro (two stations) and then to U2 (one station-1.5 euro total) and get off on Schottenring. Walk toward the hotel 10mins.(10.5 euro). Ofcourse you can always get a taxi for 35 euro from the airport. Hotel is new modern and clean although a bit hard to find. But Vienna is a small city where you can walk and explore always on foot if you have time. Not too many people speak English though even at train stations. The breakfast was very good. The internet is a paid service at the lobby. The rooms are quite spacious and clean and quiet. I would recommend this hotel.

How to reach Hotel & Palais Strudlhof
By car
From the South: highway A2, exit Wien Zentrum; proceed along the Schüttelstraße, then continue on the Obere Donaustrasse. Turn left at the traffic light and after the Rossauer bridge, continue along the Hörlgasse. At the second traffic light turn right into Liechtensteinstraße and after the Bauernfeldplatz take the first street left into Strudlhofgasse which leads directly to Pasteurgasse.
From the West: highway A1 exit Wien Zentrum; proceed along the Wienzeile towards the centre, turn into the Gürtel and continue until the Volksoper; take the first street right and proceed along Fuchsthallergasse; drive straight on. At the second traffic light turn right into Liechtensteinstraßse and follow the above mentioned indications.
By airplane
From Wien Schwechat airport take the shuttle bus to Wien Mitte and proceed by underground line U4 in direction of Heiligenstadt until reaching the Schottenring stop. There change to underground line U2 in direction of Karlsplatz. At the Schottentor stop, take bus number 40A in direction of Felix-Dahn-Strasse and get off at Bauernfelplatz. From there it is just a few minute-walk to the hotel.
By train
From the Südbahnhof railway station take the express train service (line D) to Bauernfelplatz.
By subway
The Währinger Straße underground stop is easily reachable in 7 minutes on foot.
