Best location to reach all interesting sites by walking also for restaurants, mainly during the winter time. We were for holiday during Christmas time and we found a fascinating Vienna full of lights, elegance and music. We hope to come again.

This is a good mid-priced hotel in a great central location only 4 blocks to the Cathedral. The one major drawback is that it has the smallest bathroom I have ever seen. I'm a small guy and it has less "seating room" than your average airplane in coach.

The hotel is ideally located in the right center of the historical center of Vienna, at a walking distance of every monument, theaters, etc..and of many restaurants and café at all prices. Last bu not least, the hotel is very close to the airport bus shuttle stop, as well as to any public transports. The hotel shows an excellent, not to say exceptional, ratio quality/Price in Vienne. Very quiet, clean and comfortable rooms. Meanwhile, the bathroom (including a shower and toilets) was really very small... The Breakfast is really very good and you can have all what you need on a buffet with everything. Employees at the front desk as well as in the cafeteria are very nice and competent. They even try to speak French!!!

I should have listened to the reviews for this place!! We had a triple room and while it was spacious enough the bathroom was definitely an after thought. I'm used to small european bathrooms, but I'm not used to my knees touching the wall when I sit on the pot - at 5'9" I'm not that tall. The saving grace is the extra WCs in the hallway. The disco, warned about by others, fired up Saturday night around midnight with loud music, yelling and fighting until 4-5 a.m. However, it was very quiet Sunday night. A couple staying on the other side of the hotel complained about the church bells, which would have been preferable. The breakfast served is very good with lots of variety. Champagne and smoked salmon, what could be better? The hotel is located about a 1.5 blocks from St. Stevens Platz, which is good and it took us no time to get our bearings. The staff were friendly and language was no problem as none of us speak german.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. We stayed in a triple room which was not large but adequate and the third bed was not a "roll away". The amenities, such as safe, fridge and cupboards, were very good. The bathroom facilities were very small but we were prepared for that as a result of reading previous reviews. Some dexterity was required to manouvre however, they were clean and functional. The position of the hotel was excellent in relation to the centre of the city, transport and quality restaurants etc. We would undoubtedly stay here again.

Great location, walk to any museum or palace. Front desk staff is really beyond reproach. Ask them for good restaurants around. Breakfast ( 7 - 10 , included )is 5 star quality and really all-you-can-eat. Room great, bathroom incredibly small, all very clean. Night club accross street very noisy on weekend nights, but you'll survive. All part of good value. For large bathrooms and quiet, you'll have to pay double, elsewhere.

The reception staff were first class, very helpful. Breakfast very good, they kept bringing more of everything right up to 10 o'clock. The bathroom was so small that one's knees were touching the walls in front and to the right whilst on the toilet! There was a space to add a tip in the credit card form, which I thought was a bit cheeky!

The staff was courteous, spoke flawless English, and was extremely helpful and attended to our every request. Only problem is that walls are paper thin, and a local discotheque (really a head banger's rave) started up at 2 a.m. and beat the bass drum (felt more than heard) for four solid hours. Although I really liked the staff, I wouldn't stay there again because of the local noise.

We stayed in a triple room. The room was very spacious, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was rather small and had only a shower (no bath) which was disappointing, but considering the price (136 euros for the room with breakfast included, during the peak holiday period), I don't think we could really have expected more! The staff at the reception were most charming and helpful. The hotel is ideally located, just a few minutes' walk from Stephen's Cathedral, the Imperial Palace, State Opera and other places of interest. There is also an internet cafe just round the corner, for guests who do not have their own computer. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hotel! We had a great stay. Thank you!

This hotel was a great find! Conveniently located near the Schwedenplatz U-bahn station and the boparding area for the Vienna-Bratislava Twin-City Liner. The breakfast was fabulous and the staff was quite accomodating. The only drawback (very minor) was that the bathroom was very small. But there was a crystal chandelier in the room, so it all evens out.

The breakfast was the best I've had --there were a huge variety of meats cheeses, cereals, fruit, breads, pastries, etc., even champagne!!! The room was typically small in comparison with north american standards but very well organized and attractive. The bathroom was very small and not very well arranged with the toilet seat cover falling down every time I sat.. and I had to sit sideways due to lack of knee space- worse than airplane seats. It took way too long running the shower toget hot water. The hotel was very well located but the web site map did not show the location very well and I had to search for a while, struggling with heavy luggage.

The Schweizerhof hotel is suitably located at the heart of Vienna, Stephansplatz, very close to two metro stations. The service provided is excellent for the price that we paid. The hotel was very handy to the city and tourist areas. I was travelling on my own and the hotel suited me very well. The room was tidy and clean and adequate for one person. The bathroom was very small. As I am small person I could manage, but a taller person would find it a bit tight. I was in a non smoking room but a slight smell of smoke was wafting into my open window from the window in the next room to me. This did affect me as I can have breathing problems. The breakfast was superb and could qualify as a luncheon buffet. There were three people on reception while I was there. One not so friendly the other two were OK. I would consider staying there again.

We got a corner room, which was very nice. The bathroom was clean, but very small. Very pleasant breakfast room, and excellent food. Marvellous service. - We stayed in Vienna for 3 days, and taking the shuttle bus from the airport to Schwedenplatz (and back) was very covenient. The location of the hotel was perfect with lots of sites within walking distance. Close to the U-bahn station as well. Several nice restaurants in the area. Will surely recommend this hotel to other Vienna visitors!

As an experienced traveler in Europe, I was very pleased with my 4-day stay at the Schweizerhof. Its location could not have been more central and since so many of Vienna's major sites, shopping districts, and museums are located in the center, I rarely even needed to use the underground or a tram. The breakfast of meats, eggs, fish, vegetables, fruits, breads, and juices (even champagne) was exceptionally generous and delicious. The staff were always very helpful and willing to make arrangements for daytrips, concerts, etc. on short notice. The Schweizerhof, although not large nor with expensive trimmings, provides the tourist and the business traveler a comfortable, quiet, and relaxing stay in Vienna, in my opinion.

Charming, reasonably priced hotel with an impressive breakfast buffet. Claustrophobic bath-rooms, but it came as no surprise thanks to honest description on the web-pages. Convenient location for tourists with less than five minutes to Graben/Stephansplatz. NB: The transfer-service to the airport offered by the staff arrived late and turned out to be quite expensive compared to the ordinary taxi-service.

Hotel is ok. It is really located in the city center; Breakfast service is very good, lots of specialities are provided in the morning. i.e. every day a different type of bread is served, I appreciated it. Room hotel was clean and well located, it met the expected requirements of my family. One improvement could be the air conditioning which is not available, considering the summer season temperature. However a fan was provided for that purpose.

Desk staff, though helpful, was unenthusiastic and also vague regarding recommended eating establishments. I overheard a desk person indicate to a guest that he was unaware of anyplace to get laundry done, whereas I had been directed by a cab driver to a cleaning shop less than 100m from the hotel. The cathedral dwawing on their correspondence is certainly not indicative of the hotel's facade or description. To only provide pick-up service from the airport and not the train station does not appear to be well thought-out. The inability to take morning coffee from the breakfast setting to our room was an irritant -- it would seem a simple matter to provide styrofoam or plastic cups for such a purpose and avoid this annoyance. The breakfast layout was extensive and delicious with prompt and efficient service.

Of all the 3 star hotels we used in Europe during this visit, this one had the smallest rooms. The hotel had signs posted throughout the hotel warning that a marathon race was occurring the morning of our departure. We asked the hotel staff to be sure out taxi arrived early enough to have us to the train station on time to meet our scheduled train departure. They assusre us that they had allowed enough time for our taxi to have us to the station on time. Nevertheless, out taxi could not make it through the congested traffic and we had to be dropped at a metro station hoping to be able to reach our train. After catching the metro, we arrived at the train station too late to catch our train, and were delayed four hours waiting for the next train to our next city.
