Der Aufenthalt hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und gibt Tipps ohne zu fragen. Das Hotel ist etwas außerhalb des Zentrums, aber leicht mit der U-Bahn zu erreichen. Sehr ruhig. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

Das Hotel hat unsere Erwartungen voll und ganz erfüllt: Ein herzliches Willkommen, sehr saubere und schöne Räume und ein üppiges Frühstück jeden Morgen. Die Wirtin ist sehr freundlich und überaus hilfsbereit - mit vielen guten Tips hat sie uns am Anfang weitergeholfen. Wenn wir wieder nach Wien fahren, werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder dort wohnen!

Sehr nette und familiäre Atmosphäre. Sehr geräumige und hohe Zimmer mit Parkettboden. Als Schweizer hatten wir natürlich auch viel Freude am Hotelhund "Tell".

The double rooms was great,with high ceilings and quite spacious. The single room was a little small. Location is on a quiet street, lots of eating/drinking choices closeby. A 5 minute walk to the subway and another 15 minutes by subway to Stephenplatz. It is a good choice for those who want want good accomodation at reasonable prices and dont mind a short commute to downtown (since similar accomodation in Stephenplatz would be at least 30-50% most expensive).

Buon albergo. Personale molto gentile, cordiale e disponibile, camera spaziosa, pulita ed accogliente. E'situato in una zona tranquilla, a meno di cinque minuti dalla fermata di Ottakring (metro e tram). A piedi per arrivare nella zona più centrale della città (quartiere dei musei, Kartnerstrasse, ecc.) ci si impiegano circa quaranta minuti. Non ci sono tende oscuranti alle finestre, quindi la mattina ci si sveglia presto.

The web-site under-sells the Schwalbe. The rooms have nice furniture, and are very clean (I know: I sleep on floors...). The rooms apparently have web-access, though I don't know the details since I didn't take my computer with me. There is a *very* nice breakfast included, which was a surprise. This is a family-run business. The (adult) daughter speaks excellent Englsh (she lived for a year in Australia), and the mother spoke enough English that everything worked smoothly (and I speak *no* German). They were kind and concerned hosts. My travelling companion was somewhat upset that there would not be anyone at the front desk when we left early in the morning, but they were able to set things up so that everything went smoothly. The hotel can be hard to find without a map, and the detailed map on the web is too small to be legible. Once you get to the hotel, pick up their card (which includes a map). Taxis are *really* hesitant to go there unless they know exactly where they are headed. Noise level? Mostly just neighborhood street noise, nothing special. The walls seemed reasonably thick, and it's such a small place that I think the guests are on good behavior too. No air-conditioning, but I was there at the end of August, and this wasn't a problem (though I heard more street noise because of the open windows). Overall, a very nice experience, and an excellent value!

This was a wonderful stay with people who had a terrifically well kept and operated hotel. More like a bed and breakfast, located in an interesting neighborhood, and a fast commute to the city center. Good value for sure and marvelous quality.

I would certainly recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to stay in this area of Vienna. The room was spacious, airy and very clean. The welcome and service was very friendly. I will definitely return.

A little outside of the city, but less than 5 min. walk to the underground - from there, about 14 mins on the train to Stephansplatz. Room was cheerful. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
