How to reach Sacher Hotel

By car
From the airport: follow the A4 motorway to Wien Zentrum (Vienna city center), along Schüttelstraße and Untere Donaustraße. Turn left on Aspernbrücke, a bridge heading towards the Urania, a movie theater and planetarium, which will be on your left. Drive straight onto Ringstraße, a major road with tram tracks at the side, until you reach the Staatsoper, the Opera House; turn right, and then turn left ahead of the pedestrian zone. The Hotel Sacher will be on your right. From the southern motorway: follow the A2 until Inzersdorf, and exit on Triesterstraße, heading towards Wien Zentrum (Vienna city center). Drive along Margarethengürtel, and at the Matzleinsdorferplatz Square, turn into Wiedner Hauptstraße. Cross two intersections, turn right into Mayerhofgasse and left into Favoritenstraße. You will notice signs for Zentrum. Cross the Ringstraße and merge onto Kärntner Straße. Turn left ahead of the pedestrian zone and the Hotel Sacher will be on your right. From the western motorway: exit the A4, follow the signs towards Wien Zentrum (Vienna city center), drive past Schönbrunn Castle, cross the Gürtel, a major ring-road circling the city, and stay on the Rechte Wienzeile until you reach the Kunsthalle. Turn left into Kärntner Straße, cross the Ringstraße (the Opera House is on your left) and take a left ahead of the pedestrian zone. The Sacher Hotel will be on your right. By train
From the Westbahnhof train station: take the U3 underground, heading towards Simmering and get off at Stephansplatz. Now you can either walk for about seven minutes along Kärntner Straße and find the Sacher opposite the Opera House, or you can change to U1 underground, and get off at Karlplatz/Oper. Take the exit labeled Oper – Kärntner Straße. Hotel Sacher is locetd behind the Opera House. By airplane
From the airport: there is a shuttle-bus service, running in 30-minute intervals from the airport to Schwedenplatz. Change onto the U4 underground, heading towards Hütteldorf, and get off at Karlplatz/Oper. Take the exit labeled Oper – Kärntner Straße. Hotel Sacher is locetd behind the Opera House. There are also trains of the City Air Terminal (CAT), running in 30-minute intervals from the airport to the train station Landstraße / Wien Mitte. The trip takes 16 minutes. Change to underground line U4, heading towards Hütteldorf and get off at Karlplatz/Oper. Then proceed like indicated before.
