The Prinz Eugen Austria was a great hotel for us to enjoy Vienna. We purchased Vienna cards from hotel reception which allowed us to access the excellent public transport, especially the D tram which took us to all of the tourist attractions in the city. This tram is a short walk from the hotel. When the train station renovation is completed in 2012 this would be the perfect loction to experience Vienna for anyone arriving by train. Our room looked out on this work but the double glazed windows stopped any noise. We were very happy with this hotel and would recommend.

Stayed three nights in twin room. Very good hotel. Quiet room despite trams and cars outside. (Excellent windows closing out noise.) Good climate installation - no need to open window. Good breakfast buffet. Clean hotel with traditional style and service. Metro line and tram services to city center a few minutes walk away. Close to railway station for Bratislava in case that is where your airport is.

The hotel was situated only 75m from the railway station (south)which was very convenient as my train got into Vienna at 23.30hrs.Even at this time the young man on reception was very polite and on the ball and I was booked-in in 3 minutes flat. The room was very clean, especially the bathroom. Breakfast was varied and plentyful, the young people on duty were very polite and helpful. The underground is situated about 200m from the hotel and gets you into the centre of the city very quickly. Overall I throughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Prinz Eugen.

Very nice clean hotel with competent staff. Good breakfast provided as well. Close to south train station, but far from main tourist attractions. Walking 20-25 minutes. That may be the only drawback for elderly couples or a couple with children. I would return to this property only if I wanted to be close to south train station. Otherwise, I might look for a property closer in.

While the Prinz Eugen hotel is not located in the heart of Vienna, it is nevertheless a very well situated property. It is directly across the Sudnbanhof train station, which was our departure point for Prague after the stay in Vienna and we did not want to fuzz carrying luggage in the metro, etc. It is 2 blocks away from the Schloss Belvedere and a very nice 15 min. walk to city center or 2 blocks to metro station. If you are looking for good sized quiet rooms, good breakfast included in the price per night and you don't mind not having a "magical view", then this hotel is for you. Staff was courteous and pleasant and all we asked for-extra pillows were provided. Highly recomemded.

Hotel just fine if you need to be close to the railway South Station to continue your tri to another destination but want to have a touristic stop at the incredible Viena. Fine rooms but no internet available therein (neither wifi nor wired, although it was advertised in Venere), something unbelievable nowadays for a 4* hotel. Uninteresting breakfast, too. Ten minutes to the city center with the "D" tram.

Some morning a male employee just rushed inside of my room while I was still getting ready to leave. The room was nice but too stifling and opening the window would let enter the perpetual noise from the road in front. Front-desk staff was nice and helpful. If you are intending to take a train from Vienna to Prague or other cities using the south station this hotel is for you...AND the airport coach will pick-up\take you to this station too, so so easy at a 1 minute walk and you can see it from the station. The hotel itself offered splendid service at the reception, staff anticipated your needs and gave us the best service we encountered in our 3 weeks in Europe. Not always so easy to come by in this part of the world. The building is a little dated, however the furnishings, interior design and overall package supercede this. Breakfast included both hot and cold offerings and we were graced with a rear balcony and a good view from our double room on the 8th floor. The room was not a large room, but had everything you would expect it to have, including a trouser press for those who need one. Very comfortable, very quiet, very clean and very convenient...we were sad we couldnt stay longer.

Our overall stay was good. Our major problem was the noise of the big avenue in front of the hotel. If you can close the windows, it is not a problem, but as we go during the spring we had to open the windows because weather was hot sometimes. Bathroom is fine. The breakfast had a very good variety of cheese, however on the second day there were no orange juice. The hotel is close to the Südbahnhof station but the directions to arrive the hotel from the Westbahnhof railway station could be clearer. For example, the website could explain in which direction we should take Tram 18, and when to leave.

Unfortunately we had noisy neighbours, but the room itself was quite ok. It had a bar fridge but no airconditioning which was a nuisance as the weather was hot and humid. Breakfast was good. The hotel is very close to the train station and tourist bus service. An airport shuttle bus is also just over the road (wide roads). Our power went off one day - someone had been cooking in their room and blew the fuse. The manager was very obliging. We would stay here again.
